Not that Chihiro is going to believe Keima anyways.
But he can easily prove it with one of the goddesses, or Kanon.

Cage of Eden 119

Oh man they're really catching up to Yarai's group now. And then to think Yarai's coming their way... things are heating up.

This manga is so stressful sometimes.

edit: oh my god he fell oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god

edit: oh he's fine, phew

That is a tough one. Basically there are three types of shoujo, fantasy, fantasy reality, and reality. The main one to understand is the fantasy reality area. These manga are set in reality but are totally unrealistic. Sub-plots include gifted student facilities, everyone is billionaires, male MC is absolutely perfect, etc... If you read fantasy reality shoujo expecting realistic scenarios, you will only grief yourself.

There are a lot of recommendations to be made but if any of those areas bug you, then a lot can be crossed off. Sadly, I would say the reality shoujo is few and far between. Or at least leans very close to fantasy reality most of the time.

EDIT:
I was just playin with the first part of my last post BTW.

Well lack of realism doesn't really bug me that much. I still enjoy reading funny and imaginative romance shit. Unless it's boring garbage like in Town Where you Snooze.

TWGOK

Is she capturing every girl that had a runaway spirit? I missed the ramen girl. She was pretty cool.

Cage of Eden 130

This might have been the worst place ever in the entire manga to get caught up on.

About the reveal, it was sort of obvious after a while (pretty much ever since Mariya called the place a zoo), but still pretty crazy.

What bugs me a bit is that the technology is too modern to be this old. They're living in the 00's, right? The hard drive/computer was thin enough to be from, at most, 10-20 years earlier (the mummies are fine for that much time, but the plants....). Oh well, no matter.

Things are going to get so real next chapter.

Anagle Mole

Aw man. That crying page.

You seem to favor complete series. The only issue I see there is that a lot of great shoujo are ongoing. Newer shoujo borrow a lot of shounen elements which really brings life to past dull areas. That's where you have to give credit to series like Immortal Rain, Basara, Tokyo Crazy Paradise, etc... The result is that a lot of the complete shoujo seem quite generic such as His and Her Circumstances, Special A, Fruits Basket, etc... If you ONLY read them, you'll get tired out. Modern ones with shounen elements like Dengeki Daisy, Red Haired Snow White, Reimei no Arcana, 1/2 Prince, etc... balance things out.

Then you have josei with the more traditional and the new comedy style. Kuragehime is a good example there kind of throwing back to Nodame. Traditional would go more towards Hapi Mari, Hachimitsu to Clover, and Private Prince.

You can sort of infer what series would work better based on that.

Some other Shoujo's I enjoyed:

Tenshi Nanka Ja Nai
Saruyama!
Mars (despite this being one that goes way too far off the deep end at times)
Private Prince (this one is very much NSFW though)
Gokusen (This gets classified as Josei most of the time)

You read just a few and you can predict every plot point in every new one you read, but it's no worse than the Shonen stuff as far as plot retreads and tropes go.

I have a soft spot for Monkey High. It is pretty silly but still very fun. I couldn't get past the art for Mars unfortunately. Private Prince is josei smut but isn't bad. I have still to read Gokusen. It is a wishlist.

Quick list of finished shoujo that have some good to them:
Prince Ludwig
Ouran Host Club
Special A
Immortal Rain
Aishiteruze Baby
1/2 Prince

Some series though drag out for me like His & Her Circumstances, Fruits Basket, Hanazakari no Kimitachi, Mekakushi no Kuni, etc... They seem to start going nowhere after a while or the characters are tiring. They aren't bad though and some people will like them. I just keep putting off finishing them and most ongoing shoujo are WAY better.

EDIT:
People really need to read Prince Ludwig. :(

Yeah, I guess I'm also looking in general for more series to read that fall squarely on the "reality" side of things, where it's technically set in the "real world" but doesn't have the kind of extraordinary circumstances like you described. That's probably why I recently picked up Bambino!, since it definitely seems to fall on that side of things. Stuff like that, Bartender, Solanin... heh, looking at B-U tags, I guess I just want series that match up with "seinen slice of life". Any more recommendations along those lines?

I guess strictly in terms of shoujo I'd just want a series where character/relationship development can clearly be seen to be progressing over the course of the series and can't be reverted back to square one for the stupidest reasons at the drop of a hat.

Well I don't mind reading ongoing manga, but I'm trying to read as much more complete manga as possible. Monthly manga been killing me especially all the waiting periods. Plus I was checking my MAL and I realized the number of currently reading and completed manga is about the same. I really gotta work on fixing that.

Damn that's a lot of manga. I will try to start with the shorter ones first and then go on from there. Private Prince being classified as Josei and smut is very appealing lol

Thanks for the lists mates

Honey and Clover vol 3

I'm starting to feel the manga isn't developing that fast. I mean I just read a whole volume and for some reason I feel nothing significant happened. Hagu is still making funny faces and Takemoto is still a coward. It's still an enjoyable read but there needs

Hapi Mari and Private Prince are not bad. They are both perfect male / sex up female though. Kind of goes with the territory.

-Ludwig Revolution is the name of the manga that I highly recommend (it is one my favorites). I named it wrong in the previous post. And I just found out a sequel is underway called Ludwig Fantasia! Holy shit! Aerandria has it on their future project list; can't wait.
-1/2 prince is NOT finished. I'm an idiot.

Here is my list of good ongoing shoujo for reference:
1/2 Prince (MMO shoujo, you heard me right)
Dengeki Daisy
Kaichou wa Maid-sama (moe!)
Kimi ni Todoke (in small doses)
Oresama Teacher (Mafuyu!!!)
Red-haired Snow White
Reimei no Arcana
Say I Love You (they gonna hook up a bunch)

No need to dig into the deeper archives yet.

Prince Ludwig isn't your conventional prince charming. He appears to be an unbelievably attractive though in truth, necrophilic narcissist prince who has a fetish for big breasted women.

I guess I can give this a shot...

You have some difficult criteria there. lol

Well, seinen SoL is like Otomegatari, Emma, Mushishi, Genshiken, Planetes, and Wandering Son. Onani Master falls into that category but is a bit unique. Survivor's favorite A Girl by the Sea is also adult SoL. You have fantasy, different time periods, and cultural settings there. And maybe you favor more modern established settings. But damn if those aren't fantastic manga. ;)

Shoujo with natural relationship progress eh... I don't believe Monkey High had any of those moments but it is light-hearted. This is a tough one because this challenges my memory. Shoujo usually have some sort of "event," usually a possible affair candidate. So that would be stupid reason, drop of the hat. Maybe somebody who has read more of the older shoujo recently can help there.

But ongoing shoujo, I can comment. Dengeki Daisy is the antagonist to your idea. The only reasons to break the relationship are "real" ones. Kimi ni Todoke evolves at a snails pace but there are no silly reasons relationships are going south. Red-haired Snow White and Reimei no Arcana have strong relationships where only
kidnappings/murders
can affect things. lol Oresama Teacher doesn't have romance yet but you should still be reading it. ;)

Kami no Shizuku is another one of my favs. And it'll definitely vibe with your current mood.

Private Prince

And we are off to a great start
4MNto.png

Dengeki Daisy
Kaichou wa Maid-sama (moe!)
Kimi ni Todoke (in small doses)
I had these 3 on my to read list for a while. Even though I know KnT goes nowhere, I want to read it cause the girl is very cute.

31 volumes and it's ongoing and only 3 volumes translated so far. These guys got ambition.

See Shoujo discussion, hope for good recommendations, realize I've either read or am currently reading them all, become sad.

@Private Prince - I really liked the friend better than the MC for awhile. The boobs helped sway me eventually.

Kaiji part 3

Yeah, this is not something for someone who doesn't know or care about the rules of mahjong. Can't really feel the tension when you have no clue what's going on.

Guess I'll just wait for part 4 to start being translated :/

Worst thing is, at this rate, the official english release is going to pass them.

I don't like making jokes about people losing their jobs, but I have my doubts Vertical will be around to release all 30+ volumes.

On another note, what exactly classifies as smut manga wise? I'm reading Private Prince which is supposedly smut, but I'm not seeing anything different about it from other manga.

Hi, I'm new to here. Nice to meet you all.
Has anyone read Kimi wa midara na boku no joou by Lynn Okamoto?
And his new manga Gokukoku no Brynhildr will come out in next week.
I really like his mangas.

Sex with visuals. A good amount of scenes.
I guess I should be reading more smut manga. I didn't find any of the scenes in Private Prince to be very explicit.

I really like his mangas.

I don't think anyone had time to translate the one shot. Didn't it just get released a few days ago? So unless we got Japanese readers, I doubt anyone read it yet.

I am interested in his new manga though. It's the "I killed my girlfriend" one right?

It's not explicit. Typically just shows frontal female nudity. The smut is more of a style or element in a josei manga. More substantial then shounen/shoujo cut-aways and less explicit then the borderline seinen stuff. The emphasis is also on both sexes where the other media typically focus on one.

Private Prince vol 1-5 END

This manga taught me two valuable things

1. Big boobs can solve anything
2. Every man is a rapist

With that being said this was actually very funny. The prince is a douchebag that was just using Miyako and it was very depressing seeing her get used like that. But at least she fell in love with him or something.

Either way there was enough shenanigans and new stuff happening every couple of chapters that the plot didn't get dragged down that much. I still think the marriage proposal was very crappy especially when she was in a bear suit while it was happening. The prince should have really timed that shit better. Robert was also a true gentleman
slave
always staying by the Prince's side doing everything he demands. Dude must have wanted to do Miyako so badly but he couldn't. Poor fella :(

Anyway, 5 volumes marathon of shoujo shit is very tiring. I doubt I can pull it off again. I might just go back to one volume a day or something for the next shoujo series I pick up.

I will now summarize this thread's opinion on Naruto for the last 3 weeks:

Nine-Tails is so Tsundere! TnJ!
I think very few minority found the last few chapters to be epic or cool. I found them entertaining to be honest. But yeah what you said seemed to be the majority's opinion

Sadly the artist's current series (Hapi Mari) does nothing for me. The male lead is beyond boring.

Drifters vol 1

Hah, Hirano is so lazy. Yeah, just make the chapter 10 pages, why don't ya.

Anyway, this is neat. Like the Fate series, we got some historical figures being transported to another world to fight stuff. This time though, it isn't against each other but rather fantasy people!

I hope we see more of pyromaniac Joan of Arc.

Haha, yeah, it does sound a bit restrictive when I phrased it like I did. It's not like that's all I'll read, just what I wish more of existed; I mean, I mostly enjoyed Koukou Debut when I read through it god knows how long ago. I've heard a fair number of good things about Emma so maybe I'll throw that on my list for later.

Ashita Dorobo vol 1

Finally the first volume got published here, so I can stop depending on scanlations and start depending on official release dates, lol.
Read the last chapters that completed the volume, as I had stopped at chapter 4 before, and I still like this "alien girlfriend" manga, which turned into an "imaginary girlfriend" manga, in a way, as per the revelations in the last chapters of the first volume.
I actually like it more this way than if young Ashita was simply an alien that took the form of Ashita.
Also, I'll never get tired of saying it, I find Bettencourt's artstyle to be both sensual and classy.

Dengeki Daisy vol 7

The half SD style is something that has me always rolling down laughing. It just doesn't get old for me. It doesn't matter how many times I see Teru telling Kurosaki to become bald, it has the same effect as the first time.
The plan put in motion to separate Teru from Daisy was cruel and that guy Akira is a big asshole.

Dengeki Daisy is crap. I read 25 chapters of it, and it was fucking dumb. The premise was fine, but the prolonging of her not knowing that the dude is protecting her got tiresome fast.

Drifters

Yeah, this is really good. A partial battle seinen with some awesome characters. I love seeing people from a bunch of different eras interact with each other and discuss battle strategies and stuff. Toyohisa is nuts and his strategy against psycho pyromaniac Jeanne d'arc was awesome.

Probably should've waited a bit for this to get more chapters. Still seems to be in the early stages and we all know how much of a lazy fuck Hirano is.

Big Order 1-4

This series is kind of cool... keeping watch on it for sure. cosmic would probably like.

Yeah, it's on the wishlist. It sounds a bit like Mirai Nikki by the same author, so yeah I'm keeping my eye on it. Want it to get a bit further before starting it though.

It's crazy... main character is seriously op too.

Bakuman 163

Can't tell if any of that was meta-commentary or not.
This is the first time anyone outside of their families knows about the promise, right? But anyway, thanks to Eiji, it won't be that easy...
