I really hope that Eternity Clock will end up visually better than those crappy PC dr.who adventure games. The lack of any media worries me.

All we have are a few screenshots:

First screen is old, the other two popped up a few days ago; supposedly The Eternal Clock is the first in a trilogy.

I know I saw a few stories stating that some launch games like Uncharted: GA and others (Gravity Daze?) run at sub-native resolution - i.e. 720x480 upscaled, or something along those lines. Are there any polygon-based games at launch that run at native res?

vt....vipeout!

I remember that the Wipeout 2048 demo I played in a Sony event was an old build. It had 2 issues : FPS and really long loading times.

I heard that FPS in the retail final game (Japanese version I think) improved the FPS and that now are steady 30fps.

But how about the loading times in the final retail game? Do you know if they improved them? Let's hope they shortened them, at least for the EU launch.

I was trying to post this as a new thread but kept on getting errors. Next month the website www.tsilon.ca is giving away a free video game to every member (value up to $60), including PS Vita games.

http://www.nextgenplayer.com/2012/01/leaked-memo-shows-free-video-game-for.html

You can actually choose from every current platform including Xbox 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, PSP, and PC.

I'll wait until next month to believe it...

Just leave the game in the background. Vita supports up to 6 apps running/sleeping in parallel. You can always jump back in right away anytime.

It's not like PS360 where you have to boot the game up everytime.

wait. will a game continue loading in the background if you switch to check facebook or twitter? that's something my phone doesn't even do.

No it doesn't. But after it has loaded, you can switch back and forth, or turn the thing off and on, then continue where you left off (e.g. Start another round of race)

I still can't believe no major website has picked up on the news about that site giving away a free $60 video game of their choice to each member. Has that ever been done before?

Finally made up my mind on what I'm getting. Pre-ordered the Wifi unit, 32 gig card, and no games. I'm hoping all the titles I want will be on PSN day 1 (Super Stardust, HSG, Lumines, and Uncharted). I was contemplating the early unit, but I can't justify the extra 100 bucks just to have it a week early for a game I dont want, a device I dont want, and a case/mem card that dont fit my needs. I'm happy with my decision, although I bet I'll be upset in a few months when/if the 32 gig cards drop dramatically in price.

Is this Canada only ?

Not sure. The last few promotions were, and you had to redeem at Future Shop. I'm not sure about this one. I mean look at the leaked memo, decide for yourself. I know when you register you can select Canada or USA. We'll find out soon enough I'm sure. There's going to be 1000s of gamers trying to register for this site once the promotion goes live.

Do the math, if even 500 people get in on this that's 500 x $60 = $30,000. What if 5,000 people redeem? LOL.

This is going to be one costly promotion! Haha.

Ok, enough flip-flopping from me:

- PS Vita WiFi
- 32GB Memory
- FIFA
- Touch my Katamari
- Escape Plan
- Hustle Kings (really)
- Shinobido 2
- Hori screen protector
- Carrying case

(I'm going digital for all my Vita purchases except FIFA; if FIFA Vita is good, and it looks like it'll be, I'll be selling back the card and buying the yearly new version; I like soccer a lot).

I've decided to pass on the 3G model, even if the GPS works without a 3G plan. I'm thinking, if and when (I guess I should say 'if', but to me it's just a matter of 'when') a PS Vita redesign is released, I can make the jump to 3G (or perhaps 4G, depends on what the maybe redesign offers) if the service has proven to be useful enough, or worth it.

(Oh, nothing against Hustle Kings, I just haven't seen it on many launch purchases list, but I do want it and it looks fun).

I think the game i am most looking forward to is actually Escape Plan. Looks so much fun from everything i have seen of it. Saying that i will probably get pissed off with it and give up after an hour but oh well

What was the final word on being able to change PSN accounts by using multiple memory cards? Is it possible, or did it end up needing a system restore to change accounts?

It's actually both. Your account is tied to the memory card and the system. So you take out the memory card, do a factory reset, and put the other memory card in.

And Sony made this process even more annoying because removing or adding a memory card requires a system restart, and because any time you factory reset the Vita, you have to watch the introductory video and go through a bunch of tutorial pop-ups on the OS.

Oh, that's balls.
At least it's possible to change, I suppose.

I pre-ordered my first edition bundle on Bestbuy.com. I am ready for this thing. I can't wait.

I also pre-ordered Wipeout 2048, and Hot Shots Golf, and I'll get Uncharted as well.

I figure the 3G will be worth it for the occasional game that works with it. I hear UMvC3 is playable over 3G. I'll give that a shot possibly :-).

I wish it was out now.

Hey guys,

I just confirmed that the free $60 video game promotion is for Canada ONLY. Everyone is getting a video game of their choice in February.

Too bad this wasn't North American wide. :(

Canada is getting all the good deals. WTF!

Yeah, so far this year I've seen the following deals in Canada:

1. $100 off the PS Vita
2. PlayStation 3D TV for $95
3. Free $50 for CinemaNow

And now everyone in Canada is getting a free $60 video game in February. This is awesome!

Vamphuntr -- there's a new Canadian website calling itself a "fraternity of gamers", all you have to do is figure out how to register and you get all these perks.

EVERY person from Canada who registers will be eligible to get a free $60 game next month.

I don't know how they do it!

The reason I know is because I run a popular gaming blog up here in Canada and the owners of this site keep on sending me news tips. It's ridiculous, lol. I got a bunch of my friends to join and we all got PS Vita's for $199!

This is my write-up on the free $60 game of your choice next month:

The site to redeem the game on is called Tsilon.ca.

Tell your friends man, free game! Definitely not a scam, I just pre-ordered my $199 PS Vita yesterday. :D

yeah can someone make a thread for this tsilon thing? i don't understand it at all.

For some reason I can't create new threads, otherwise I would post about this and explain all. I really think gamers need to know about all these free perks...it's freakin' crazy.

I'm assuming the control stick mapping only works for MHP3 and not earlier titles like MHFU? I wasn't sure if it was game-specific or not. If it works that'd make my purchase a hell of a lot easier.

Control mapping will work for all PSP games compatible with the Vita. It's a menu option that you bring up on any PSP game by holding the screen for like 2 seconds where you can map the right stick to the d pad or face buttons and turn on bilinear filtering.
