The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

I have literally never gotten it to work, even once.

I have a wifi model and I leave in Nagasaki. It's never been able to figure out where I am, regardless of what connection I use.

You have to register the wifi you're using to skyhook. It took them more than a week to process my request.

Just have a question about how the Vita's save transferring works.

From what I understand, you can only move your Vita save files to the Vita gamecard, Sony's Vita memory card, or the cloud. Am I correct?

Basically what I'm saying is...because PS3 saves can be transferred to PC, people have taken advantage of that and are manipulating save files with hacking programs and cheating the trophy system. It really is frustrating to me and many others.

If Vita saves were to be accessed on PC, they'd be trying to get that to work. I hope they can't.
Think about these things when complaining about the Sony-only proprietary memory cards. They really just make PS3 saves only transferable to that to get rid of this trophy hacking scene. It's fucking disgusting.

In any case, I hope Vita is hack-free in ALL ways, saves included.

Does anyone know which games, the Remote Play Feature will work with?

Could there be the chance, that DCU:Online will work with that?

If yes, count me in!

Didn't Konami's Transfaring scheme work for bi-directional PS3 and Vita save file transfer ? If so, PS3 should be a legit save file source/destination.

PlayStation Vita Gets Dual Shock Grip and Extended Battery Life Via Latest Accessories.

Grip:
The device is priced ¥1,380. Impress Watch's reviewer says that it gives a close feeling of holding a Dual Shock, with no major complaints about the construction of the device.

If you're running out of juice on your Vita, Impress Watch recommends this USB Portable Power Set from Sony, which is priced ¥2,980.

The device can be used to recharge your Vita battery on the go. Impress was able to play games while the device was charging the system.

The specs say the device has 2,000 mAh, which is a bit less than the 2,210 mAh of the Vita's battery. TheyImpress tried charging the Vita from 0 charge state. The USB battery died after charging for 2:17. Playing Uncahrted on high brightness and with Wi-Fi off, Impress got 2:51 minutes of additional play time.

The USB Portable Power Set is a general device that can be used with other electronics outside of the Vita -- anything that can connect to it via USB. Impress tried charging a 3DS and were able to fill up the system from 0 in 3:04.

I didn't see the backside. If the above handle does not cover the back touchpad, the Nyko one should not need to. Otherwise, it defeats the purpose of making it a Vita gaming handle.

I am curious about its implementation too. Thinking of buying a battery pack for Vita. I am a heavy user, also bought an integrated battery pack for my iPhone 4S.

Does anyone know if this is the case, or are the US/EU launch Vita's already ready to be shipped?

When I got my EU model a couple of weeks back it had 1.51 on it, so they're definitely updating as they go along. I'd imagine when it comes around to February they'll have a more recent one.

Started from the beginning on Star Strike and got the third boss, only to lose all the lives I'd saved up (about 7?) and game over when he had about 2% health left :( Quite a tough boss! Should have used more of my specials though, instead of saving them all.

I have my uk vita pre ordered just got a couple of questions:
1. Will the ps store launch on day 1 with all games available to buy online.
2. Can you use psn cards on the store.

Yeah, where are these?
I can see where stuff will unlock (like the single races in Class C I already unlocked), but is there anything I can actually unlock just from using the rear touchpad?

Touch the front panel (unlocked grid) to enter the event just like you do for the normal events.

Star Strike(?) is sooooooo addicting. But to tell the truth, I want to play it on PS3(´・ω・`)

SEGA has stated multiple times that Samurai & Dragons was just inspired by that iOS game, lol.

Well... if you check the trailers, it seems more than inspired. It seems the same game but with a more polished dungeon crawler and more character classes. But the dungeon and card system, and the typical city development of Evony clones seems the same.

Yeah, but we're wondering about the thing that the creators said in one of the interviews - there are secret events to be unlocked via the rear touch panel. Wonder if that's true.

Question:
-I have a Japanese PSP 3000 and a Japanese Vita
-I enjoy Valkyria Chronicles 3 on my PSP 3000. This is a game that features multiplayer possibilities and I am in a house with 2 strategy RPG fans.
-If I download VC3 to my Vita via the UMD passport thingy, will the 2 be able to communicate with each other? I know they can find each other, according to the news, but will I be able to mutiplayer-mode that game, do you think? I don't want to roll the dice with 3,000 yen.

I feel like it SHOULD be an obvious yes, but that's supposing that the world makes sense, which it does not. It seems like with the Vita, cool as it is, if there's not confirmation that it DOES do something, then it doesn't, is why I ask.
Anyone know about this?

Yes it will work. Some guy on YouTube showed off Monster Hunter gameplay between the two systems.

Yes, it should work, like Wazzim said. The details are here, in the closed Japanese Launch thread.

IIRC if you start new game your progress (collectibles etc.) will reset. At least that's what few people in the JP thread complained about.

No, just go in chapters and start from the prologue on crushing.

Had to reset WipEout piloting to normal assist. I wasn't getting anywhere with it all turned off :(
Things start getting pretty rough in 2049. I dread to think what 2050 season is gonna be like.

That battle event where all you can get is cannon, mine & bomb... Still haven't had a single bomb but I kept hitting them somehow.

Bombs in that event are a lie, it seems that only enemies can get them. I've played it like 10 times and didn't get a single one. Elite'd it anyway but yeah, it was brutal.
I'm still wondering if I should use the first prototype for the time trials...

Well I'm quite sure you're doing a lot better than most by looking at the scoreboards

There's a little bit of rubber banding AI going on because a few times now I thought I was comfy at 1/8 only to be pwned majorly in the last lap, otherwise it seems like the fast ships are the only way to go...I tried the purple armored one but it's slow as hell.

What are some other tips? I figure that you need to roll when airborne, take shortcuts when you figure them out...and ??? Should you consume items whenever your energy is depleted? I tend to be using my items like crazy as soon as I run over them, maybe being careful with when I fire off the weapons might be one thing I could try to change

I fear that this game will go over peoples' heads. There is some sort of analog stick magic you need to stop from crashing into walls like crazy and that's even with pilot assist on. The music is totally bringing me back to playing Wipeout XL for the first time.

what happens when you back up your vita to PC via mediago? I'd want a back up of my saves in case of memory card failure..
