I feel like the ATT exclusive 3G stuff in NA was stupid on Sony's part.
A judge would probably allow homebrew on the device to allow any data provider, which would cause problems for Sony... unless I'm mistaken on how the technology works...

Do we know anything about the free game with 3G activation at At&t? Im guessing it's only with the $30 plan?
These prices have been like this for a while.Hey, changes of prices on Amazon:
Little Deviants is now US$ 39 (was US$ 29)
Ridge Racer is now US$ 29 (was US$ 39)
Touch my Katamari is now US$ 29 (was US$ 39)
Let's not worry about price for a second:
I still can't make up my mind about digital vs. retail. I want to support digital because of it's immediacy, less wasted plastic, the possibility to re-download, keep all games with me on the go, etc.
But I can't help envisioning myself in 10-20 years turning on my Vita to play, seeing something has gone wrong with the mem card or something, and not being able to get to my games ever again.
Just this weekend I found a really cheap copy of Chrono Trigger at a garage sale, took it home and popped it into my SNES and played. Then took out a handful of othe SNES games and played. No dicking with accounts. No connecting to some server to validate my purchase.
Shouldn't we expect physical vita carts to operate the same in 20 years as they do today? I have no idea if/how/why Sony would support Vita digital downloads in 20 years, and that shit worries me.
I suppose the problem is that we don't know how much AT&T had to do with that choice.
AFAIK the physical hardware for CDMA and GSM devices is different, if that is the case then Sony were never going to release a CDMA version of the hardware as it's just pointless considering every other major country uses GSM almost exclusively. On that basis any CDMA networks are automatically not eligible anyway. I don't know enough about US telecoms to know how made GSM networks there are though. It should be unlocked, but then so should lots of 3G capable devices that aren't.
I have a suspicion that in France mobile devices cannot be locked to a carrier by law. I'm not 100% on that though.
You're correct.
The only two CDMA carriers are Verizon and Sprint with the rest of the world using GSM. They were never gonna make a CDMA version of the system, and if you're choosing between AT&T and T-Mobile, you'd pick AT&T since T-Mobile is burning money and subscribers at an alarming rate, and their future is very hazy.
Bascially, it's not AT&T's fault that they're the only choice to companies who want a device that works around the world.

So I'm still on the fence about using/buying a screen protector. I do not own a fancy touch device so I am not familiar with the feeling one gets from rubbing a finger on a screen.
Will putting on a screen protector ruin what the bare screen is supposed to feel like and make touching the screen stickier than it would be without it or cause any other issues?

Over the next week, Ubisoft will be profiling our upcoming portfolio of launch titles for the PlayStation Vita. All these titles will be available a week prior to launch, giving gamers the opportunity to build up their library prior to the launch of this highly anticipated PlayStation handheld or experience the games early if you are picking up the First Edition bundle on 2/14. Lets kick off the week by stepping into the fantasy genre.
Uh, am I going insane? Isn't the First Edition bundle coming out on the 15th and not the 14th?

Coming out the 14th. That's a Tuesday which systems/new games usually come out on.
Really? I think every single retailer, Amazon, Best Buy, Target, Gamestop etc all have it listed as February 15th. So it's actually going to be in stores on the 14th? I know Tuesday is the normal day for games which is why I thought it was weird the Vita was coming out on a Wednesday.
Guess I can cross one more day off my calendar today then![]()

No, it will be in stores on the 15th. Isn't it like it always was, a game takes always approx. 1 day to be delivered to stores? If you get some release-day delivery you will get it on the 14th.
It's most likely a typo. Game releases on the 14th and the Vita on the 15th.

If my Vita scratches that badly, I'll just buy another one.
Unfortunately $39.99 does not seem to be a typo.
Seriously, screw you Ubisoft. Keep this shit off Vita.
It would be nice to get it one day earlier...but that's not going to happen. The PSP released on a Thursday here in the states. 3DS came out on a Sunday.
I don't understand why they are trying to charge $40 for this game. I feel like they would sell a whole hell of a lot more copies pricing it around $20 at most. If this is just the PSN version they released earlier then why is it so much. It is a budget title in japan right? Every comment on that post is complaining about the price. Come on now.http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012...nter-alliance-brings-an-epic-fantasy-journey/

Nope.Hey guys, does Europe have an early release?
Any links to news about it if they do?

Ahh, okay. I thought it was cheaper in Japan when it came out. Nevermind then, still seems dumb though. Guess I'll wait for some of these prices to drop down down down.In Japan the game is $40 (retail) or $32 (PSN). Why they charge so much? Because they foolishly believe people will buy anything at launch just to use their shiny new Vitas. As majority of recent Ubisoft decisions go, this is completely not true. But hey, if they had someone other than monkeys working there, they would've had more than one good franchise (AC).
I keep vacillating between the 32gig cart and the 8. Fortunately Amazon doesnt fine you for switching over and over. I think I've finally decided on the 8 and will wait for what I think is the inevitable price drop on the 32s in mere months. Hopefully Lumines, Stardust, Uncharted, MHFU, and some demos fit on the 8.
Pretty much every game in Ubisoft's launch lineup is being sent to die with their across the board $40 pricing. The only title out of the batch that deserves to be priced at $40 is Rayman Origins and even it will likely suffer in light of its shabby console performance and the fact that it will be easily found at 50% of that price on non-Vita systems at the time of its release.Out of touch piece of shit company, I hate that they publish Lumines.
I believe the implication from Ubisoft is that all 5 of their launch titles will be available both in stores and digitally on the 14th. This includes Rayman.I was hoping for Rayman to be available early too.
Unit 13 is also $39.99 and Uncharted is $49.99. When the platform holder is setting these prices...
Anyone getting the starter kit, worth it?
All I need is the soft pouch (like the one that shipped with launch PSPs). Everything else is a nice bonus for the additional $20. I looked at the other pouch for $19, but it doesn't look too travel friendly.. I'm also getting the Hori full body SP.
