They really need to do a deal at the Rumble this year where the entire ring is eliminated before #30 comes out. #30 is Jericho, then he spends 10 minutes celebrating.

Found this funny along with the Glaad and wrestlezone dig.

New avatar time.

I miss the days of all 30 rasslers cuttin' rumble promos. Like so:

Starts for REAL a few minutes in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=8GJJZ6xLgHU#t=175s

That's because Jake Roberts was an amazing promo guy. Makes Orton's promos look high school acting. Good stuff in there, Hawk/Animal, Taker's simple "Rest in Peace", Heenan and Mr. Perfect, then you see Martel, Tugboat, Earthquake, Hacksaw, all those crazy characters McMahon created.

Don't feel too bad about it. I didn't mean to leave anybody off the poster on purpose. If you hadn't been around in a while (more specifically when I making it), then people got left out.

Actually, I plan on probably remaking the poster just right before the Rumble.
Not sure how exactly I'm gonna do it yet... I may just try and get the names of everyone in the NeoGAF Rumble and go from there.

Gonna be a interesting challenge putting ~100 people on a poster.

Thank you.

Your ctrl, c, and v buttons are going to be ground into dust by the time you are done.

So many Jericho marks.

Jericho is an easy dude to love.
He was never the #1 guy (at least not for more than a month or two) in the company so we never got the opportunity to grow to hate him, and he brings an overall freshness to his character.

He's like Foley with more mats skills and without all of the physical risks

Who is making the Ramble thread in particular? I need to know so I can PM some ideas for the OP.

It's honestly amazing to me that they've never attempted this sort of thing before. I mean, yeah, the Rumble does usually continue on for a while after the last guy entered, but this is such an obvious way to get a heel a win and to play up the "luck of the draw" element that I can't believe they've never gone for it.

Of course, people will whine and complain about it, but this is a perfect chance for that to actually be the point.

No way they'll go for it, though.

With 4 of the last 5 Rumble winners drawing late numbers and barely putting in any time in the actual match, I think we're long past due for a winner to have to EARN their way to the big dance.

That being said, the above scenario is definitely one I could easily get behind. It's really the only way to book a Jericho win while maintaining his current gimmick of not actually doing anything apart from trolling and behaving like a male cheerleader (something Mr. Ziggles knows a thing or two about).

And the Rumble will never be the same.......A-GAIN!

random: during the flag match with DiBiase Jr. vs. Hunico, was anyone else surprised to see the "promo aired during match" gimmick? I don't watch too much SD...is this a semi-usual thing, or just the TV presentation throwback I felt it was?

Sci-Fi and USA tend to do that often.

They do it fairly often on SD, yeah. Been doing it for a little while. Mainly for mid-card stuff, obviously.

Have him just sit in the back in the dark with his jacket on when hes supposed to come out as #1. He doesn't move, cue to random views of him through out the rumble, until the very end, we see him walking out, slowly. Have someone who is in a feud sits down on the turnbuckle waiting for Jericho and said feuder gets pulled out by someone( think Miz being pulled out by R-Truth). Jericho walks out, celebrates, and leaves.

I actually want this to happen.

Plus at WM I would quite like a unification match for both World champs as well as a unification of Who is is the best in the world, second best and third best.

Baltimore, MD (January 23, 2012) - In a first time ever collaboration, Ring of Honor Wrestling Entertainment Inc. and CHIKARA fuse together to make April 28th, 2012 a Professional Wrestling Holiday in the great wrestling city of Chicago! Although both wrestling leagues are different in presentation, they have one thing 100% in common….a desire to give the fans of the Chicagoland area a day of Professional Wrestling that only dreams are made of.

The celebration begins in the afternoon with CHIKARA presenting "Hot Off the Griddle" and wraps up in the evening when Ring of Honor presents “Unity”. This historic day of wrestling festivities all emanates from the Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL.

Ring of Honor and CHIKARA officials sealed the deal on this special event last Friday afternoon in Philadelphia, PA. Both offices have come to an agreement that they will go above and beyond to make sure that April 28th, 2012 is a day that will go down in professional wrestling history.

Following that meeting, CHIKARA officials remained in attendance last Friday evening for the “Homecoming 2012” event that took place at the Philadelphia National Guard Armory as invited guests of ROH officials. CHIKARA wrestlers were also invited backstage before the event to introduce themselves to fellow ROH wrestlers in relation to the business agreement made for Chicago on April 28th.

Later on in the evening, CHIKARA representatives Jigsaw and Hallowicked entered the Proving Ground against ROH World Tag Team Champions, Mark and Jay Briscoe in an attempt to earn a future ROH Tag Title match. During this bout Jigsaw was pummeled by the Briscoes, driven through a ringside table, yet somehow managed to roll into the ring at the count of 19, albeit in very rough shape.

At this point members of the CHIKARA roster came out to ringside individually in support of their fellow comrades who were in dire straits. Mike Quackenbush, Frightmare, Dasher Hatfield, The Colony, Saturyne, and Ultra Mantis Black all made unexpected appearances leading to the CHIKARA team upsetting the Briscoes and earning that future ROH Tag Team title shot.

Synergy Begins

The unorthodox and bizarre personalities of CHIKARA definitely made their presence felt at “Homecoming 2012” in an unscheduled series of events and it is without question that a few ROH wrestlers, as well as members of the staff, were upset at the fact that the CHIKARA wrestlers went to ringside without permission.

It will be interesting to see what happens on the road to ROH-CHIKARA “Synergy” on April 28th, 2012. We can officially confirm that the first contest to be announced at ROH “Unity” is a ROH World Tag Team Championship match with The Briscoe Brothers (if they are still champions) defending against Hallowicked and Jigsaw.

Keep an eye on ROHWrestling.com, as well as CHIKARAPro.com, for more information on both live events including wrestler line-ups, scheduled matches, and any news as this huge day of wrestling gets closer.

Tickets for Ring of Honor’s “Unity” event go on sale Wednesday January 25th @ 10AM for Ringside Members, and to the general public on Friday 1/27 @ 10AM at www.ROHWrestling.com!

CHIKARA/ROH CROSSOVER! CRISIS ON INFINITE WRASSLEGAFS!

Going to this. Who's with me?

EDIT: JINX! DAMMIT DJSANDMAN!

I never understood those years where the Rumble logo had the missing 'M'. Did that have any significance or is it just a shitty design?

I puzzled over what you meant, wondering how I never noticed the Royal "Ruble" but then I looked at the posters and saw what you mean. :)

Seems that way, but actually, the doing the Lionsault every match is probably more dangerous than all of Foley's normal moveset put together--just ask Hayabusa about the risks of that move:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OWF1it7Ydfw

Foley certainly did more crazy one-off stunts though, so I know what you are saying...

I'm starting to not like Dolph Ziggler. I know I don't want to see another Ric Flair but can you please start watching some NWA Mid-Atlantic and NWA World Championship Wrestling archives. Your paired with somebody that you makes you look better, but you dont' know need her (Flair and J.J. Dillion). You have the looks and the in-ring ability. You have the mouth piece but the wardrobe need to go! Please don't not come out tonight in a Blazer and a bright color T-shirt again. SUITS, WATCHES, LOAFERS... the list goes on.

So last night I finished up the Road to Wrestlemania mode. It was a very meh ending with more object based gameplay than I care to ever play again. If you've gone through the bragging rights tag team match, think of that but doubled in a war games type match. The worst part about this is: they do not return your CAW to it's previous state before you started Road To Wrestlemania. Pro tip: if you are going to use one of your own CAWs and don't want to loose the entrance and move set, copy it before starting the last part of RTRM.

I'm probably never going to touch that mode again and aside from doing some stuff in Universe, I'm near done with the game unless I get inspired to do more stories.

It is always annoying when you can hear individual fans in the crowd much clearer than the wrestlers on the mic.

I couldn't make out a good portion of what was being said due to barrier slapping. Those philistines should be shot for not showing the correct amount of appreciation for the great and devious Ultramantis Black.
