I'd say the opposite. Mitt is able to argue his points very easily and is having no trouble destroying Newt's self-defenses. It especially looked bad for Newt when his only response to Freddie Mac is "Well how much did you make at Bain?" and Romney quickly had a clear response to that.

Not really. It wasn't about profit, it was about Newts conflict of interest and Newt looked extremely off balance...
But Mitt said Newt probably owned 100% of those companies, unlike Mitt with Bain Capital. So Newt saying he was getting $30k was a big disingenuous.
