But seriously, why is it that every President seems to spend half their time on vacation? Is it because the President doesn't actually do very much?

When he attacks Obama it's tepid, but that's probably only because, again, the audience isn't supposed to react. Double edged sword, I think the audience at home (who this was intended for) is probably happy to hear him attack Obama still.

Presidents don't spend half their time on vacation. They do get vacations, but it's not at all common. Obama has played less golf at this point in his presidency than Bush, IIRC.

Man, Santorum is losing whatever support he had by being incredibly boring and dry in every response. There is no time to be mopey, dude.

Not true. Bush loved vacation more than work itself, but Obama has already golfed away more than Bush did in two terms.

I can't find this on tv on the west coast. sucks.

you are using the internet, are you really incapable of live streaming it?

I don't think Romney is still in the position in the race where he can take up debate time focusing on Obama. He should focus on his current opponents.

Go after Obama in national situations, go after primary opponents locally.

Mitt's best shot is to continue making it look like he can beat Obama. That is his core competency. He is never going to get the backing of conservatives by going after his opponents on a televised debate in my opinion. He will get that backing by portraying himself as the guy who can beat Obama, end of story.

Yeah Mitt, you've used that line already.

"Obama doesn't have a mission for NASA, I believe NASA's mission should be determined by a lot of people"

So...you don't have a mission either.

Educated people < People Trained to kill.

Nothing against the military but I think I will be better for the country to have People with college degrees than soldiers.

We are not at world war 2 anymore!!

Why the hell is Romney pro-NASA? The private sector can do anything better than government. He should be for the private sector getting into space exploration.

Oh damn, Newt has the right idea. Why didn't Romney say this?!

I think it's a decent question because it asks them to reconcile budget talk with the urge to pander to Floridians. So far though, I don't think anybody has answered it well.

Republicans: Children can clean toilets in schools and then go die in the middle east.

The private sector has zero reason to explore space - it's high cost, high risk, with little incentive. And yes, the government does do things better than the private sector. Health care and exploration are two of those things. The private sector comes in after the government's discovered something out there that will make it enough money to offset the R&D and risk. Then they come into play out of low earth orbit.
