The PlayStation Vita In 2011-2012

I was in Gamestation today trading in my Launch PS3 60Gb for a Slim version and I had 3 of the staff trying to get me to pre-order the Vita. LOL.

I wonder how pre-sales are going?

Uncharted is 49.99, other Vita games 29.99, WTF is are they doing? They are practically begging me to wait for all these games to hit bargain bins

Tiered pricing, which needs to happen with all platforms. I'd much rather pay higher prices for the "big budget" games like Uncharted if titles like Hot Shots Golf and WipEout which make up the majority of my purchases can be sold at more approachable prices.

Imagine if on PS3, games like Uncharted 3 and Call of Duty were sold for $60, and games like Rayman Origins or Catherine were sold for $40 to $50.

2050 - subway ....

Vita throwing levels of annoying

Going to try it with assists to see if this is even possible

Edit: i did WORSE with assists on :/

Actually not, they go down. Compare the prices of electronic appliances, TVs, consoles, games, etc. to 20 years ago and now.

Prices go down as technology ages because new technology comes in and replaces the old at the same or higher price point. DVD's were cheaper than Blu-rays. PS1 games were cheaper than PS2 games which were cheaper than PS3 games. Consoles are launching at higher prices than they used to.

The biggest exception would be games from the NES/SNES era, but the market is completely different now.

I'm guessing you are getting that expected Wipeout asskicking

Yup - Sol was bad enough trying to stay on the damned track, but i got there
Prior to that Altima was a pain, but i got there

but Subway ? just finished 8th all the time over and over.... just finally did it now with assists on but it's a hollow victory and even with those on it took me 5 attempts :/

P.s. #datsol

Excuse my ignorance, but since i don't have a PSP, if i want to play select PSP titles (God of War for example) am i right in thinking i can buy them off PSN via the Vita? Been having some crazy thoughts about needing to buy original PSP games, enter some sort of code from it on a PC, then being given access to download it on Vita!

Also, people who have their Vitas, are you happy with your choice of WIFI or 3G model? WIFI owners - are you missing 3G features and wished you'd spent more for the 3G model? 3G owners - are you gutted you didn't save cash and buy the WIFI model?

I'm pretty sure you can just access the store from Vita and buy it directly. Japanese owners can correct me if I'm wrong.

Well, they can't see your tag in the real life.

You know. The funny thing is that I'm genuinely interested in getting one and I've got the spare cash at the moment to do so. If they would drop the price just a tad, I might just bite but I need a couple of things confirmed. Like when will remote play be available for all/most PS3 games. It's a feature I'm very interested in.

True story. Access to PSP via PSN titles are just a wifi hotspot away. No crazy codes required.

Also as a Vita owner I'm more than happy with my wifi Vita purchase and honestly don't see the 3g version selling well in the states at all.

Welcome to Germany and German prices on software. First time I walked into Saturn I almost got a heart attack. So good I have a PC and can get cheap CD-keys from Polish auction sites.

I paid 70€ for Metal Gear Solid 4.

DOT DOT DOT

Soon after I got a CC and started ordering dat bombas.

Still, 50€ is a ridiculous price, 3DS software is usually 10€ less expensive and big Nintendo games are often used for short time offers to draw in customers. Sony thinking that they'll get decent software sales at this price seems idiotic. They don't have the franchises to do that (except Fifa, probably).

I'll get one game here and order the rest, if there's no great UK deal on Golden Abyss. Should there be one, I won't get any at launch.

If anyone has a PSP they want to trade Gamestop is giving $25 extra credit on handhelds traded towards a Vita.

I got $60 for my 3000.

Man, they gave more for a DS Lite for a 3DS when they had that promotion where you trade in a DS Lite to get a 3DS for $100. I guess I might do it though. Use that extra trade-in credit to upgrade to the 3G version maybe.

Lost charger aside, what can you really do with Vita in US at this point if you don't read Japanese ? US PSN is not up yet right ? Near should be barren too.

Well, if I had one here in Europe, I'd be playing wipeout and stardust right now. It's not that hard to set up a JPN account and working for a BIG GAMES MAGAZINE, I'm sure they could get someone to pick up some JPN store credit for them ;P

People like me won't be bothered to set up a JPN account. ^_^

Since Jim Reily is a game journalist, perhaps he's not interested in his work anymore.

It's just one unused resource or bad apple, doesn't really cover the entire magazine. Is Game Informer that bad ? I haven't read a gaming magazine for ages.

I don't take offense by Jim Reilly's twitter. There's not much they can do with a Japanese vita if theyre done or bored with the games. Can they go online? Play online?access PSN?

Game Informer is owned by a video game store.

Okay, I remember now ! It's part of GameStop ? I signed up for their rewards program, and they promised to send me a one year subscription. That was 2-3 years ago and I haven't received a single issue. Why can't it be automated ? -_-

That's what I think too, but Jim Reily may have other issues or aspiration it seems.
