The hype is getting to me. It's too much! This is going to be the greatest handheld of all time! Price, value, selection, no one even comes close! Getting Wipeout day 0 then I'm going to see what's available online.

I magically received $130 in Chinese New Year money from awesome relatives. Now I can justify buying the First Edition bundle. I would've felt guilty about ordering it otherwise; got bills to pay and whatnot.

And you didn't think Steam sales are a result of massive competition in PC DD? While on consoles, Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are the sole channel in delivering content? Until developers and publishers won't be able to bypass PSN/XBL in delivering DD to customers you are not going to see decreased prices.

The (lack of) competition factor will apply to both physical and digital games. And yes, I have gotten cheap PSN games before !

Heard Gust has a Vita game in April. Is it a brand new IP ?

It apparently is, one thing I don't get from the andriasang preview is that it's supposed to be developed for multiple platform but then, it was announced for Vita already?

Gust appears to to have big plans for Surge Concerto as a franchise. The Vita game is the first entry in the franchise, which will be developed on a variety of platforms.

I'm guessing the first game will be Vita exclusive?

Has anybody ever used a SquareTrade Amazon warranty? I found this nifty one for $52.99 for 3 years, and it covers everything. The reviews seem pretty positive as well.

Here is the warranty: SquareTrade $200-$250 warranty. This doesn't take into account taxes correct? I saw it being bundled with a $249.99 PS3 so I'm assuming this should be fine for the Vita.

Sounds like they will have different titles in the franchise for different (and sometimes multiple) platforms.

-Are the controls comfortable for playing DJ Max Portable 3? considering the buttons are a lot smaller now.
-Has anyone played a GTA game on it? How does it look and feel.
- Does using the right analog stick on PSP games that use the face buttons for camera feel ok? (example Resistance retribution, MGS Peace Walker

For vita owners or people who probably have the answer to these.

I almost made a new thread about this but decided to just bury it in here... But, personally, the way Ubisoft is approaching the Vita launch makes me hate them as a company (and Im a PC gamer so their DRM already was pushing me over the edge). Here's why:

1. Dungeon Hunters $40. A lot of people will say this is an "iphone port' which isn't true(though the series started and continues on the iphone), but what is true is that it's a port of the PS3 version released last fall. And that released at $12.99 and a sale for PSN+ users.

2. Lumines Electric Symphony $40. The ps3 version, which seems to have almost all of the same features, is $10.

3. Asphault $40. This, i believe, is a port of DS game, and is also an iphone game. Videos of it are janky as hell.

4. Rayman: Origins $40. An amazing game, to be sure, but why is it more than the console version? I can grab that for $20 this week at toys r us and $30 any other week.

The thing that makes me angry is that there is a $29.99 price point, which is still a ripoff for most of these games, but it makes more sense than $39.99. Even if they bumped Dungeon Hunters and Asphault down to $30 and kept Rayman and Lumines at $40 I wouldn't be quite so annoyed.

I know the a system launch is a time to cornhole early adopters. Sony is doing it with the early 3g bundle and memory card prices which are bound to come down. And Ubisoft is doing it with these games that are farrrrr cheaper on the PS3. Like I said, I know im gonna be cornholed, but when it's so obvious it makes me angry.

I guess the good news is that I can just not buy them, and being ubisoft they will be half price in 3 weeks. Well not that i'll ever buy asphault, but the others would be fun at the right price.

I feel your rage. Dungeon Hunters would be a great $10 to $15 PSN title to ride me over until Warrior's Lair (Ruin) is released. And I want to own Lumines as PSN download, but not a $40. It'll most likely never go on sale on PSN.

But in time retailers will be sitting on unsold copies of these Ubisoft games and sell them at 50% off. The only game I want to see succeed is Lumines, but I feel that it's being sent to die at $40.

I may bite the bullet on a download of Lumines... but GAF impressions have to push me over the edge.

I'm somewhat under the impression that Ubisoft knows some of their games aren't going to sell big numbers so they'll price them higher to make more money from the people that feel like they have to play those games.

Ubisoft is shit anyways. They do that every hardware launch, and for Vita I definitely don't want to own their games after Guillemot (their CEO) said basically everything they make on handhelds is made so that mobile ports could be possible in the future.

Yeah that seems like their plan to me as well, and the fact that it's so obvious is what annoys me. I feel like they don't think their customers are smart enough to figure that out.

I'm sure there was pressure from retailers and SCE as well to release as many games as possible at retail. They want those Vita shelves to be full.

If you don't believe me ask the guys who decided to release Unit 13 and Little Deviants at retail.

Yeah, but at least Sprung wasn't an iOS port (or heavily derived from one).

(I am probably the only one that liked that game for the DS)

Little Deviants is also a joke at $40. It's about $25 in japan. Should be $30 here, at most. Unit 13 looks full featured and fun as heck to me, so I don't see the issue there.

Wasn't there a Sony press release that mentioned that Vita games downloaded via PSN could be up to 40% cheaper than retail? I'd love to believe it but the cynic in me is thinking otherwise.

Unit 13 is a retail game now? This is supposed to be a bite sized shooter. I expected a 15 dollar price point max.

If there was such a thing, it was probably a Japanese press release so it probably doesn't apply to the US.

I wish they would start announcing the PSN prices on all the Vita games. I am really interested to see how much cheaper they are.

I am fully prepared for massive dissappointment. I can see SCEA giving in to US retail demands.

Maybe... MAYBE... PS+ will give us discounts on Vita games. But let's not hold our breath.
