meh, I'd say its more like this isn't stupid SC.

The difference was really Wolf Blitzer vs. John King. King threw softballs and cowered in fear when Newt attacked him. He turned it into an attack on the media and it won him big points.

He tried the same thing here, but Blitzer didn't back down. Blitzer asked him about something he said this week about Romney's taxes and Newt tried to blow it off as a "media attack." When Wolf persisted, he then even tried to turn to Santorium for back up on this and gestured toward Romney and argued that they should get back to the real issues.

But Romney threw him to the Wolf (pun intended) and said "Wouldn't it be nice if people were willing to defend in a debate the things they said outside a debate."

It wasn't so much that Newt sucked, it was, rather that the bully got bullied back. Both the moderator and his main oponent weren't afraid of him anymore and he therefore didn't look as strong.

For those who saw the debate, was the crowd reactions annoying, distracting, etc...?

This time around it was ok, they clapped and cheered but it was done at a good enough enthusiasm level. And no one booed minority issue questions or crazy stuff like other debates.

Yeah, seems the blogosphere is up in arms about Newt bombing badly.

And the righties actually thought that this pompous asshole had a shot of beating Obama in the debates? LOL.

There was a big FUCK YOU to what seems to be thew only existing Palestinian Republican in the country by Mittens followed by cheers from the crowd. Poor Bastard.

2 EXCHANGES of the night:

1. Mitt trashing Newt on the one thing i cant even remember
2. Crazy attacking Mitt on mass health care

I still can't wrap my head around why a Palestinian, or any Arab or Persian, could possibly vote for the Republicans when they are so ridiculously xenophobic

Newt bombed huh? Interesting. Looks like Mittens could win FL handily.

Anyway, I'm back from seeing Mr. 911. Before anyone questions, I was there to write an article on it for my school. He surprisingly didn't mention 911 as much as I expected, but spent 20 minutes talking about how great Reagan was. So that kind of offsets it.

The more interesting thing was a bunch of truthers invaded the speech and decided to ramble on about their conspiracy theories until they got removed. I thought I was going to witness a new "Don't taze me bro", but alas it wasn't to be.

Oh and Rudy was asked who he thinks the best candidate to beat Obama was. He said all of them except one. Now, obviously, he meant Ron Paul but I didn't expect him to actually name Paul. He did name him however, that caused some Paul fanboys in attendance to boo. lol.

Ron Paul & Rudy has a nasty exchange about 9/11 in one of the 2008 debates.

How can you not mention the jihad underway in Cuba. This is extremely important to our national security, and the old Cubans in Miami.

I'm starting to believe self loathing and consistently voting against your self interests is paramount to being a Republican no matter race or religion.

I didn't follow politics as much furring Bush, but I don't like it either way.

If you have the time in the future, please send me a PM so we can discuss this more, I care about what you have to say.

There is a problem with just requiring the Palestinian camp if you will to change before you require Israel to do the same. It will take both sides taking a step back. What happens often is Israel will claim to put a stop to building new settlements as a peace offering, expecting the Palestinians to do the same with stopping rockets but unfortunately due to the extreme zealots in Israel, settlements are just built somewhere else.

Imagine if you lived on the Palestinian side. Your family for generations had lived there. Then 60 years ago they were pushed to the side, land taken, and basically thrown into ghettos. Sixty years of anger, seeing your brothers, cousins, friends and family imprisoned or worse. Sixty years of seeing the land that you once called home being changed into a purely Jewish land where you are now seeing and treated as 'the other'. Sixty years of being excluded from the land of your parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. Sixty years of not being able to cross over to work, not having full rights to vote, not having equal rights as those who just happen to be Jewish and move into the land that was once yours.

Imagine the anger and frustration that would develop. This is what the Palestinians have endured for 60 years. Is it any wonder that so many of them see those who attack Israel as hero's? Is it excusable for what Palestinians do? Of course not. Is it understandable? Yes. The Israeli government responds to terrorism with more terrorism and both sides continue to flame the fire of hatred. The difference being that Israel controls all of the cards if you will. They control the land, the resources, the wealth, the military, etc. Nobody is going to mess with Israel. They have nuclear weapons for crying out loud and one of if not the BEST military in the entire middle east.

You need to stop seeing this is a Palestinian = terrorist argument because its not. There are children who are being imprisoned and turned INTO terrorism thanks to their time in prisons. Israel needs to stop using force and try to start using good will for a change.

Came here to post this.

Blitzer was my "winner" tonight. Gingrich tried to resort to the old "attack the media" plan again and Blitzer called him on it and countered him. It was fun to watch.

It was pretty amazing, like Daniel-san busting out the crane kick in Karate Kid Part 2 only to have it stuffed.

I didn't want to say anything because seriously Wolf Blitzer is a moron that he was ballsy enough to continue to press on those issues only means he got his shit together after the King debacle I'm not willing to go as far and say he was "great" he just studied up on what traps not to fall into.

Unless there's a massive economic collapse, Obama has this one in the bag. I honestly can't imagine any of these guys as president, and the Republican base doesn't like the frontrunner at all. Consider that once Santorum leaves the race, 90% of those votes are going to Newt.

Here's a crazy:

What it Gingrich drops out and Santorum takes the anti-Romney spot? He's more likable, he's got Evangelical support, he doesn't have a family values problem like Newt, and he doesn't have difficulty fighting Obamacare because he doesn't have a history of supporting similar ideas.

If Santorum can take 2nd place in Florida, I think the Gingrich vote could conceivable jump to Santorum.

Anybody who doesn't believe in global warming hasn't been to the south. Trees are dying people...in January!

Fixed for Texas. Last year's drought fucking wrecked our trees. We've gotten moderate (probably average, for a change) rainfall since December but they're predicting drought to return at least through summer.

It's just he's so incredibly unlikable. He makes Newt look cuddly.

... On the other hand, this is the state that elected Voldemort as governor. You might be on to something.

Sounds like a beautiful dream, sadly. The odds of that happening are very slim.

My theory is that he was there as a whipping boy and red meat to accentuate how strongly they felt about defending Israel for all time forever no matter what. One of those long-view setups to garner Jewish support away from Obama and toward for whomever the victor shall be.

I mean, it's the only thing that makes sense; a Palestinian Republican?

I can't see how...

So you're saying he must've been a phony planted by the GOP? I suppose that's more plausible than a REAL Palestinian Republican, or even an Arabic or Muslim Republican.

Well anything's possible in this political climate, and they've proven themselves far more capable of out-Onioning the Onion at... everything ever. Maybe. Could this conspiracy theory be too far-fetched even for me?

Nah. I can go deeper. But do I want to?

It really felt like Newt just didn't prep enough for the debate. He thought he could get away with his natural debate talent and didn't take Mittens seriously enough. But Romney came out guns blazing with opposition research ( provided to him by the entire Republican establishment, lol). Newt never planned two moves ahead with his attacks.

It really feels like Iowa again where the establishment and Super Pacs are trying to dump a canyon's worth of boulders on Newt's head, but this time they're trying to make sure he never rises again.

I wanted Newt to win just for the lolz, but it looks like he'll probably fall short now.

That's a pretty good summary of the debate I saw. Good stuff.

The hardcore Muslims can line up behind the GOP as being pro-God, anti-gay, anti-abortion, etc.

But it really doesn't make sense me. A large swath of the GOP would probably be just fine with an ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian territories in order to bring back Jesus faster.

So their interests don't line up with either the GOP or Dems . . . but they do like Ron Paul, Mr. isolationist theocrat. So I think you see a fair amount of Palestinian/Arab/Persian support for Dr. Paul.

I want Newt to win because the base likes him better than Romney, and they are only voting for Romney because the GOP establishment is forcing them to pick him.

Nah, they are largely voting for him because they know he is the most electable of the clown brigade. But I think it will be a tough sell for Romney too. Right now, I think the election is Obama's to lose. But there will be many things that happen between now & the election that swing it back & forth.

Guys, if you think that I'm the conservative that just supports Israel blindly you are wrong.

I think once Palestine stops launching rockets, and start tring to change things like Occupy Wall Street, or do things how Ghandi did, or Martin Luther King.

Then the world can see, and America can see, that its not just Palestine being violent and hostile.

Honestly just stop. Either read up on the history of the situation or just stop. Palestinians are not sending over rockets every minute of every day. No one gives a shit about Palestine, which is exactly what Israel counts on when it keeps building illegal settlements over Palestinian lands. The only time the issue even ever comes up is when the violence starts up again. So stop pretending like all the Palestinians have to do is stop sending over rockets. They are not sending over rockets right this minute, do you see anyone caring?

I dunno about that. Romney will avoid Obamacare in the general if he's smart. Hell, even Obama's avoiding it right now cos it polls really badly as a whole after the relentless smears and lies by the GOP

The longer the primaries drag on, the uglier they will get. This will sour more and more voters towards the Republican nominee while Obama gets to fly around and look Presidential.

I think Newt is finished after tonight. He got shit on pretty badly. I can see Romney winning FL by 10 points or more
