It can get a little hectic in tunnels with rockets and plasma etc. detonating amongst the pack, and perhaps the engine wash can obscure corners a touch, but it's minor to insignificant AND speaks more to a player's knowledge of the track.
Thanks. What I've bolded there is actually the undertone that I took from the review as a whole, didn't want to come across too negative on it what with not having played the game just yet. If you're not thinking at least 500 yards ahead in any racing game you're doing it wrong, Wipeout more so than most.

UC3 has turned me off the series, but I'll gladly give Golden Abyss a chance when it's not 50 bucks. If it launches at 39.99 or less on PSN, I'll give it a shot. I already hate myself for overpaying for Lumines...40 bucks. Good god. But I justify Lumines to myself by remembering that I still play the original almost daily on my PSP, so 40 dollars ultimately isn't that bad of a deal. UC is a game that's one and done for me, so even 40 for that is steep (for me). I wish they would have had the time to add cheats/extras to make subsequent play-thrus more interesting.

That's the dilemma I face as well. I love the series, but the $50 ($55 after tax) price tag is a bit much for a portable version. I've platinumed all three games. So, it's not exactly one and done for me. But pretty close to it.

It's tough, but holding out for $30 might be the smart thing to do.

Yeah, 2048 is no exception - even with the generally wider track designs. I actually play with the far camera perspective, as it's always helped me be able to tackle corners better than any other viewpoint. Might be a case of focusing on the horizon and having room with the airbrake slough.

Anyway, I suspect it'd be a different review if the fellow spent more time with it...but I suppose you could say that about most reviews.

Well thanks to people posting here and on CAG about Uncharted Vita being $39.99 at TRU I was able to use two $20 gift cards and get Uncharted for $2.69.

Pretty pumped about that.

Just pre-ordered PS Vita wifi "Pre-order Pack", which comes with:

Wifi Vita
4GB Memory Card
Uncharted Golden Abyss
+ Headphones, €5 discount on PSN games and some PS Home crap.

for around $381.

I want FFIV complete myself.

What are those two titles going for on EU PSN.

€17,99 and I guess about £15,99 (although I'm not sure about that).

Retail stores here are still doing nothing, they only have like 4 games listed. Not even memory cards. Really annoying :-/

Keep in mind that it states to receive the game, activation is required.

If you're planning on using the 3G though, its a great deal.

I'm tempting to switch my Vita Wi-Fi + 8GB for this deal. I'd be stupid not to, right? Even though I didn't really want 3G.

The 8GB card is $29.99 correct? So its still $20 cheaper for the Wi-Fi + 8GB card route.

Unless you think you'll use the 3G down the line.

Also, everyone who preordered the 3G model is upgraded to this bundle.

EDIT:

Amazon updated their page

So, as long as you do the dataconnect, you'll get the free game? So, no adding on a plan, etc.? I may go this route if thats the case.

Comes with free PSN game though...but WHAT game? After that, it's essentially a $10 upgrade maybe.

Probably shouldn't get too excited about the free game though. If there's an extra $55 in value...

$30 - Memory Card
$15 - Free month data plan
$10 - PSN Game

Plus since you have to buy an extra month from AT&T, if you're not planning on using the 3G, it would cost you $5 to get the "free" game.

I'm willing to bet the downloadable game is one of the cheaper PSN-Only launch games, such as Super Stardust or Escape Plan. Nothing wrong with those games, but the value of the this 3G bundle wouldn't be as great.

Still, that and a free 8gb card for no extra cost is sweet. Seriously contemplating switching my Wi-fi order to this.

Where does it say you have to pay for 1 month? I get confused whenever 3G stuff comes into play.

"30 days after your DataConnect Pass activation, you will receive a game voucher code redeemable on the PlayStation Store."

I'm just assuming that means Sony/AT&T will make you be a current subscriber to get the code. Either that, or it's a trick to snag people who will forget to turn off the auto-renew.

Edit: Also...

"Your promotional 250 MB session automatically starts upon expiration of your 1st session plan, if you have activated the redemption code."

Makes it sound like you have to pay for a data plan the first month and then the freebie is for month #2.

Or I could be reading it wrong. It's a mess of words.

It could just mean that...they'll give you the code after 30 days, not necessarily requiring another month...more details needed though. If it doesn't say outright say you have to renew for a month

Edit: just saw your edit...I have no idea now.

I already have my 3G/Wi Fi Vita pre-ordered, so I guess I get this version automatically. Awesome!

I also have a 16GB Memory card on pre-order, but I'm wondering if I should bother keeping it, and use that $60 to buy 2 games.

This isn't Amazon exclusive, is it? I didn't see it anywhere. I thought it was just for the first launch of the 3G bundle. If it is Amazon exclusive, I better get it.

It looks like this may be the standard box they are sending out for WiFi/3G Non-First Edition Bundle buyers in the States.

what bundle comes with uncharted?

I misread this description on Amazon
The richest, deepest and most engaging handheld gaming lineup - including Nathan Drake's epic adventure in Uncharted Golden Abyss[/quote]

Skimmed it and saw "inlcuding Uncharted" and thought it came with the game. My bad, sorry :P
