I'm stuck in an update loop on the Vita. I click on the Web Browser, it says I need to update to 1.52 (which I already have). I press ok, then it searches and realizes I already have 1.52. Then the app closes itself. I can't figure out any way to launch the browser successfully.

Did you try resetting the console?

can we expect this to eventually appear in the free giveaway thread? >_>

Stupid question- will all launch games be available for download on Feb 15th?

I'm guessing we'll be able to download them directly to the PC via Media Go, and on to the PS3 hard drive.

I'm on the fence about my Rayman pre-order. I bet it will look amazing, and could be fun to play on the go but the PC version is tempting, and cheaper. But then my launch will be Hot Shots Golf only... I refuse to pay $50 for Uncharted and none of the other games are begging to be purchased. Argh.

Lumines isn't begging me to purchase it, but it does have a gun to my head insisting rather stridently.

This 2,000 mAh battery adapter (Vita's battery is said to be 2,200 mAh, so almost a full charge) works perfectly on Vita (no need for full power off), and is now $17.XX at Amazon (used to be $25).

That'd work for any USB device, right? so my iphone or 3ds or whatever? It might be nice for flights.

Yeah, but there's much nicer, and more compact solutions. And yeah, they're awesome on flights. When I fly from Florida back home to Seattle it's pretty much an all day affair and my charger keeps my iPad and iPhone running all day.

yeah, I saw a nice looking 7000mah one, more expensive obviously. I'm not going to need something to stick in my pocket or anything, so something larger and bulkier isn't a problem.

Myself, I know I'll hardly use it, if ever, but I want the official, black, 5,000 mAh adapter coming at $50 'Spring 2012', mostly because I don't think the $17 one will fit on the First Edition bundle case mesh pocket.

Hmm are these in Canada? Can't find a store with it.

Yeah, there's a lot of cool options, including book bags with the charger built right into it.

I really like looking at this thread every day, it helps me feel better. I really need all of your positivity in this thread, because other than one online friends of mine, no one else I know is excited for the Vita at all. I've actually had at least 3 friends at work, and my brother tell me that I should not get it. That it's a waste of money, that it's stupid you need a memory card, and that it's just gonna be cheaper by the end of the year. It is a little disheartening having to listen to that. Some of these guys are active gamers, and I'd like the Vita to do well.

They're not really swaying my decision to get one, I'm excited as hell for the launch of the Vita, I really like the line up of games, and hope it does well. It's just really a downer to have to listen to that.

Hey Gaf I was going enter that taco bell contest until I realize that I have no idea what to post.

That due who said he would blend his 3DS is hard to beat :[

Say you want a Vita so much that you'd even be willing to win a unit that has Rebecca Black's "Friday" as a song that can't be turned off, and is played during games.

Amazon.com must think I'm trolling them.

Over the past week or so I changed my mind a bunch of times on what I'm getting. My original plan...

-Vita WiFi
-Starter Kit
-Wipeout
-Lumines
-Ridge Racer
-Rayman

In between I cancelled the starter kit and Lumines. Then I got the alternate set of ear buds, and a different case. Plus a 16GB card.

Then, I realized how nice the First Edition's case was...I realized I couldn't live without it. I cancelled the Vita WiFi and the case.

I then bought the First Edition Vita and Lumines.

Then I realized I'm paying $40 for a puzzle game and cancelled Lumines again. lol

My final purchase...

-First Edition Bundle
-Ear buds
-Wipeout
-Ridge Racer
-Rayman
-16GB card

Ahhhh, much better.

Question: If I purchase the 3G bundle from Amazon, will my Vita be somehow locked to only accept AT&T sim cards?

I know there is some sort of deal between Sony and AT&T, so I'm thinking I may not be able to insert my local telecomm's sim card and start using 3G. Or am I wrong?

Did some more research and I'm reading that it goes like this:

- Japanese VITA: sim-locked
- US Vita: - sim-locked
- Euro VITA - unlocked
- HK VITA - unlocked

So if I plan to use my local 3G provider, I should buy Euro or HK?

So apparently the "free" psn game that we are getting with the FE bundle and the Launch bundle is supposed to be a $15 dollar value per John Kolle and yes you have to actually activate a $15 dollar att data plan to get the game and the consequent free month, so you essentially save and extra $15

( I hope this doesn't mean Stardust is 14.99 as I'll have to pay that if it is :( )

John Koller on January 28th, 2012 at 9:54 am said:

The DataConnect Pass provides 250MB of data after you activate and complete your first session. And the PSN game has not yet been announced but will be a $15 value.

EDIT: Also, doesn't the PS3 need to be hacked to use that feature?

For most games yes. However by all accounts it's just a tiny change to one file which allows the PS3 to play it over remote play. Sony should easily be able to turn it on for many games and Eurogamer did run a story some time ago that Sony were going to do so.

The question is are they waiting until they can optimise it, or are they waiting for something else, or are they just not going to do it.

I get the feeling they're not doing it for the only reason that matters: money.

Why let people remote play all this stuff on their PSVita when they can get people to buy the game AGAIN on PSVita.

I hope they do it. Being able to playing PS3 games on my Vita and free up a TV would be awesome.

Don't you need to be near your PS3 to use the remote play feature? I'd assume the obvious counter to that is that people will want to play their games on the go.
