I respect the fundamentals, the defense, and the zoning, but Eddie needs to start playing Marvel 3.You not watching that air movement? Straight Marvel 2.
He seems like he's not ready for the "Just Do It" attitude a lot of players have.

Is this what it's gonna be like in ten years when Justin Wong is whipping out his TE stick that he converted to work on Playstation 17 to do a run back in SF9 against Adnan's son?
Weird.
You mean Art's grandson?
Yup, the skills are solid and I respect it all, but his strategies are not working. I'm actually still confused how he even won that first match against MarlinPie. MarlinPie just wasn't playing like himself at all there.I respect the fundamentals, the defense, and the zoning, but Eddie needs to start playing Marvel 3.

Also him missing the Haggar LVL3 because Andre was in blockstun was a heartbreaker.
Why did Haggar's hyper whiff??
Edit: Eddie always going for the mixups over the long combos thinking it's still Marvel 2, man.
Yeah, that was straight up MvC2. I don't know much about the older games, but I could see that pretty quick and it was weird seeing that in a one touch game like Mahvel 3.You not watching that air movement? Straight Marvel 2.
A character like Haggar really should have a level 3 that moves him forward a bit...Yup, the skills are solid and I respect it all, but his strategies are not working. He played a lot more aggressive this time around, but still hoarding too much meter and not finishing his combos. Maybe it's the stick?I think we're seeing how solid his MvC3 game is in this series against Andre. Most tourney players can end up looking just as lost against Marlin if he gets in with Viper.
Yup. Art's gonna be running around getting his cane caught in Spooky's shit
Then he wouldn't be a grappler. There are very few (if any) Level 3 grabs that move characters forward.A character like Haggar really should have a level 3 that moves him forward a bit...
You've got a pretty narrow definition of the grappler archetype...Then he wouldn't be a grappler. There are very few (if any) Level 3 grabs that move characters forward.

Eh, it's not a very good design choice for most grapplers as far as I can tell and it certainly doesn't help Haggar. It's late and I don't care enough to argue about it anyway.Fuerte and Abel are two characters where their Ultras (which I guess count as Level 3s for sake of argument) move them forward.
Grapplers from SF2 and beyond very rarely get to move during Level 3s.
Gief's Level 3 in Marvel 2 didn't move him forward.
Hugo and Alex in Third Strike didn't get to move forwards.
Hell, She-Hulk's Level 3 doesn't move her forward, but the car hits for minimal damage if it whiffs.
It's not a "narrow view," it's how grapplers are designed.

She Hulk has a grapple that moves forward.
I think he means her QCF grab special move. Or even her AA grab hyper. In order for the actual grab animation to hit, she has to be close. The car will hit if the grab misses, but it's not the same thing. The discussion was Level 3 grabs, also. If the it was expanded into ALL grabs, then there wouldn't be a discussion happening right now.
