Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

yeah, can't wait for april but have plenty to play until then. Looks like they did a good job with the framerate (wonder if final will be vsynced) though looks like they had to ditch the motionblur.
Certainly more stable than my "gaming" notebook

Yeah, I agree with this. As much as I love the game there's going to be people burned by the aggressive political themes and difficult combat. It's not a casual, cheesy high fantasy romp like Skyrim.

I'm very hyped for this as most of GAF has praised it so much. I just hope it's really that good and not another Xenoblade (decent game but not nearly as good as many gaffers make it out to be).

Sure, but it will also attract the console crowd looking for a more meaningful wrpg experience. :] This is not a serie that can go on to sell 10+ million copies like Skyrim, but I'm sure there's a potential for 3-4 million copies. The western market is just waiting for wrpg these days, especially hardcore console gamers who are starving thanks to casual oriented wprg from Bioware and Bethesda.

Xenoblade is not your standard jrpg thanks to extraordinary world building+ability to jump all over the place or swim. Definitively several step above everything else made in the jrpg genre. I'm sure I would love it if I had a Wii, because the world just seems awesome to explore and the combat system seems solid as well (which is a step above Skyrim in that case) . If you care more for story or whatever in your jrpg, I can understand why you wouldn't quite understand the hype and praise. It's a jrpg not so focused on story and cutscenes, but moreso fantastic freedom of exploration and ton of content (the next step of jrpg evolution after FFXII) .

The Witcher is not your standard wrpg either, with nudity and mature storytelling (not afraid of tackling politics, sexism and racism as well) . As been said, choices and consequences is about as perfectly implemented as it can be in this genre. Writing and storytelling is also a notch above the competition and as a bonus, romance and sex scenes blow away what Bioware does. As for the gameplay, it's not perfect, but superior to what Bioware or Bethesda can pull off (although studio38 has ton of potential in this area) . World building is great as well, being mostly specific area with some breathing room allowing exploration. Combat is supposed to be difficult, but it's somewhat broken.

That was exactly that sold me to it. FFXII is one of my favorite games ever. Xenoblade wasn't anywhere near as good. :/ The environments were really nicely done though.

The quality in that vid is terrible. Definitely looks like the game is fully intact, but difficult to tell much about the visuals. Previous footage suggests it will look pretty good anyway.

The Witcher 2 does have a steep difficulty curve, but once you get the hang of it, its not really that hard. I am playing through on Dark Mode at the moment and no major problems at all....

Screen tear aside, graphics look amazing. I guess that's a fair trade off for the smooth frame rate. Elf and onion soup - goooooooood!

So it seems we can pre-order the Dark Edition on Amazon at France, Germany and the US, Sweden GAf can pre-order from webhallen.

I was looking for Amazon.uk to get this. And to be honest, standard edition looks pretty awesome for the price. I might end up saving some money and get just that one instead. Decisions...

I'm not sure if it was posted or not ... new Intro for Witcher 2 ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO49RZq5HCk

My problem with this trailer is that it seems to misrepresent the game to someone who doesn't know what they are getting into. It could use a voiceover to explain what's going on in this video, even a subtle one. It makes me want to play the game as Letho assassinating kings and being a badass, not as Geralt (who doesn't even appear in the intro). An uninitiated player won't know who either of those guys are or why he cares about them other than to think he gets to be the badass assassin.

That's because it's not a trailer, it's the new intro to the game.

Would the b-roll vid warrant a new thread?
I say yes :)

Screen tearing and not best quality footage aside, that game, for PC RPG port looks stunning. Vistas are never ending, thats good. There is less grass, but we all knew thats bound to happen, bandwidth is pretty meh on consoles these days. Oh yea, it looks like there is AA(probably post process).

It's called Assassin of kings, it shows a king being assassinated. Kinda obvious...

because CD Projekt is pretty nooby when it comes to developing and they didn't want to bother learning an entirely different platform to port their game too. The 360 is much more similar to a PC.

Well they were making White Wolf at one point before they decided to stop because... ham sandwich.

Anyway it's not like they don't know what the PS3 architecture consists of.

CDProjekt hate Sony, it's true guys. To spread the word you should post comments to that effect on every single Witcher video on YouTube, and if you could litter them with bad spelling/grammar and homophobia then that's even better.

They handed off that job to a port studio, they where not satisfied with the result and opted to cancel it.

I just watched the trailer and I cannot wait until April! It seems so far away though! I never played the first one or 2 on the PC. I might try to purchase the original over the next couple of days to play on the PC.

loltaku is reporting that they have confirmed the price of 99.99 for the Dark Edition

We've confirmed that the "Dark Edition" of the Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2 will retail for $99. There was some reader confusion about the price. Details on the Dark Edition can be found here.

My problem is it seems stupid as all hell. Letho has this amazing freeze an entire ship weapon and it's never been mentioned in game? You could make an entire game about a doomsday weapon like that.

Gonna be honest, I don't play PC games these days..... if it wasn't for you guys I wouldn't even know what this game was, wouldn't even give it a second glance lol.

But cause of GAF talk (not just in here, many times I've heard good things, GOTY thread etc) and it getting a console port, I'm interested in giving it a go!
