Hey guys,
So I was torn on the first edition version of the PS Vita because of the case, and though "oh well they will make some nice ones in the future" then this whole 3G upgrade version came out and I though crap...decisions decisions....
Anyway I was browsing eBay and they have cases that look a LOT like the ones in the first edition version...AND THEY'RE DIFFERENT COLORS!!1!!

My 3DS would be gone (to pay toward this) if it wasn't waiting for the inevitable Pokemon game.
All these cases are made in China anyway, so it's probably the same as the official ones.

We all know those will come out sometime..... god I wish they'd make different colors for launch, don't get me wrong black is sexy but still.
I love their coverage, just hoping someone there gets behind the vita. But it's true, based in the way they handle PS3, I shouldn't expect much.

I'm in St. Louis too, the Best buy @ manchester and 141 had a playable Vita. No games other then little deviants but you can at least play around with the system.
The screen is big bright and beautiful. The system itself has excellent build quality. The joysticks are smaller then I was expecting but feel comfortable, wish I could've tried them with a game like Unit 13 or Uncharted. The touchscreen is very responsive and I found myself able to type fairly quickly with the on screen keyboard.

Have there been any commercials or anything for Vita? My friend remarked that he hasn't seen any kind of marketing push for this and now that I think about it, I haven't seen anything either.

It was a sponsor for a college basketball game last week. I have seen nothing myself either.
Maybe they'll do what they did with the Xperia and come up with an ad for the Super Bowl and then go all out on an ad campaign after that. Hopefully it won't be as stupid this time around (but considering its Sony I kind of doubt it).
I'm surprised there haven't been any Taco Bell ads yet. Even for Uncharted 3 they had the cross UC / Subway ads airing on TV for a while.
I watched a basketball game a couple days ago. They had a "Playstation Vita Halftime Report." I don't remember seeing much in the way of commercials though.

Is there any difference in quality between the screen protectors? I mean, can some damage the screen in any way? Or do some feel worse to use than others, or can some of them easier to fall of the screen?

Just watched a Taco Bell commercial talking about the Vita on ABC during the Bulls/Heat basketball game.
I'm getting the starter kit which comes with both a pouch and a case.
Anyone else find it incredibly redundant to release a kit that contains two cases?
I know one is called a 'pouch', but it essentially serves the same purpose.

That's what I'm going to do/try with my extra screen protector from the starter kit (I will use the Hori one for the display).

hmm I'm willing to believe thats a typo (it's copied from the US pack) as the UK do not get the memory card bundle. I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am (tescos had this typo also but later removed the card).
Makes me angry that the UK has NO memory card bundles of any type announced... I'm trying to get more info at work but nothing

Yep it seems there is only two official packs in the UK the travel and the starter pack and none come with a memory card.

The only advertising I've seen so far is Sony sponsoring halftime reports of college bball games. ESPN college bball halftimes are sponsored by Playstation Vita. Other than that I haven't seen anything outside of Taco Bell.

I think all the cases so far look pretty decent. To be honest it's nice to see the branding coming out right the first time after the PS3 launch and that thing basically having to be rebranded, even if Sony did do a fantastic job of giving it a new image.

EB had one in Aus to get the vita (minus memory card) for $243 after trading in a 3ds. Shitty deal, as usual. Why trade the 3ds?! There's so much gold coming for it.

I am getting the Sony screen protector 2 pk. As I understand it the rear touchpad is the same dimensions as the screen so I could use one for the front and the rear, correct?

I've never been a fan of Wipeout, but I'm going to go play Wipeout HD on my PS3 (that I got during the PSN Welcome Back program but never played) right now.
If I like it, I might add Wipeout 2048 to my Vita launch list, because as it stands, I realized I have very few launch games I intend to buy -- just Hot Shots Golf, and that's still a 'maybe'.
