PS Vita US Launch Details (Launch Games, Accessory Pricing)

Hey guys, does Gravity Daze have a date yet?

I looked and every list I've seen has just said "launch-window." There was also confusion as to whether it was a PSN game in America or retail as well.

I know for me games like Lumines and HSG are the type of games that I'd want on my system at all times which would sadly make me want to buy it digitally so that I don't have to go through the seemingly annoying process of changing game cards. If the choice was a bigger card or getting games though, always go for the games.

it's fair and why i bought a giant card for my psp. but the prices here are really out of line. i'd pay a decent amount for a 64gb and feel confident but 32gb at 100 honestly i feel if you need that much it's probably not enough if that makes sense.

the carts don't have bad load times or anything right?

Yeah no kidding. Though I was one of the people who spent $100 for a 1gb pro duo card 6 years ago on the PSP and another $100 on a 2gb pro duo card a year later so I'm kinda used to the high memory card prices from Sony and this time 32gb for $100 sounds like a steal compared to back then.

The cards supposedly have faster load times than games running off the memory card from what people are saying.

I don't know about you guys, but totally excited for Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack. It might even be a day 1 launch title if all goes well!

Actually, something else I wonder is if we'll see 64+GB cards, if that's possible. Because if it is like Memory Sticks/SD cards in that they didn't always cap out at 2 GB or whatever... uhhh, yeah, I'd rather stick with the 8 GB and wait on the 64 GB card and be fine with that for possibly years, just for carrying everything.

You can get around it by opening the web browser through the Twitter app :-)

Can you clarify this? Are you saying that although you can't directly open the browser with a game open (since it asks you to stop the game) if you open the browser through twitter it keeps your game playing?

I really think every Vita retail game should come with a standardized amount of hidden memory for the inevitable 200 meg updates Sony loves to push. Either that or mandate size limits on them. I don't want any part of a 16 gig card wasted on Socom updates because Slant Six or whoever is making their next title couldn't release a working game.

Might be stored locally like on the PS3. Will only sync with PSN when it goes live.

Or trophies are on a world server.

I actually meant downloading the twitter app. :P I don't think there's a way to do that while using a US account at the moment.

When the FUCK is Sony going to wise up and offer a content manager for Mac users? This is ridiculous. I'm 300 km away from my PS3 and I can't put shit in my Vita.

is there a OT yet?

i just want to know what the difference is between the wifi only model and the 3g one?

i mean any GPS tech missing from the wifi model?

of if i simply hook the thing up to my android phone's hotspot ...... will it be able to do everything the 3g one can?

There's an actual GPS chip on the 3G model. The wifi model just uses Skyhook or whatever it's called to approximate your location.

Nope, you won't have the GPS.

Oh god, I really hope that comics thing is true! There was a comics app on the home screen on some of the promo material back when the Vita was just the NGP, but the comic store has stopped putting out updates since then. A comic app plus a return to a regularly updated store would be fantastic.

This is EU info but whatever. I asked James G on the PS Blog about game prices and if there would be a discount. He said he'd see what he could find out. Hopefullt he finds out something good

Jeff from the US Blog told us something similar like 2 weeks ago, we're still waiting to see what he has "found out".

Ya, I did this too... and I have to admit I never actually regretted it at any point...

I'm buying the 32GB card at launch but mostly because I have a HUGE PSN PSX/PSP library already (I could fill a couple 32GB cards with games, easy) and there are several PSN-only Vita releases I want Day One (Escape Plan, Motor Storm AC, Plants vs. Zombies). I'll get my money's worth out of the thing, even if I'm buying a 64GB card for a C-note in spring 2013...

Yeah, I spent $160 on the 1GB stick when they were impossible to find.

No regrets.

Same here really. I know we're in a different age but 32GB for a tiny card like that is not that bad. People spend their money on so many dumb things and also over pay for iPhones/pads so I can't see any room to complain other than them being slightly overpriced.

I just did the math and it would be cheaper for me to get the new 3G bundle with the included 8GB memory stick, and that's not counting the other free stuff you get with the bundle.

Hmmmm....I planned on getting a 16GB stick, but I know eventually I'd get the 32GB or bigger if it's available later. I wonder if I should stick it out with 8GB and get a free game and month of ATT while I'm at it.

I am getting the first edition bundle plus screen cover and 1 other game I might buy tales of innocence r from play-Asia.com

Here better be a cap. After the enormous ps3 patches I hope they've figured that mess out.

I'm figuring the 8GB will be enough for now. I'll pick up a 32GB down the road, but its a shame they didn't stick w/ the Pro Duo.

Me and the wife went to the local GAME this morning, checked out their demo pod.
Got to say, my preorder feels totally justified!
I had real doubts, seeing how I hate the dualshock3 SO MUCH!
But after trying the gravity daze demo for just 5 mins, I was completely sold.
Sorry if the pics are awful, I tried :-(

Why are the game prices all over the place? I'm seeing Wipeout for $29 at AMZ & Target, but $39 or more everywhere else. MotorStorm seems to fluctuate as well.

What did she tihnk of it? or is she not interested in games at all?

After seeing that booth I might have to have a mosey on down to my nearest Game. I think I'm least likely to get stabbed at the one in Crawley. Might take the SLR to see if they let me take any pics.

EDIT: Mind if I nab a copy of that image for another forum?

Seems like some retailers aren't too keen on the idea of having multiple price tiers. So they're raising prices on the "cheap" games and making an extra $10.

No, Sony's being a douche. WipEout's MSRP is $40 now.

God damn it, seriously? I was planning on getting it on PSN, but I guess I'll get it from Amazon since it's still $30 there. Seems like the closer we get to the western launch, the more Sony is screwing up. Still want my UMD discount program thing :(

People said a couple months ago that it should've been a $40 game. They listened!
Fuck that. It bombed and was $19.99 within a few weeks on the other platforms. No way in hell its staying at $40 for PSV for very long at retail. What sucks is the PSN price for the digital copy probably won't budge until its warm out...spring sale.
