Really awesome how Smoker now smokes two cigars at a time, looking forward to where this arc is headed!

Seems like Naruto has gained some of the power from all the Bijuu? Wonder what attacks he will go at Tobi with next time.

Nice chapter really, this power up should be something special now, can't wait to see Naruto going to town on the enemy.

Also, baby demons were cute.

The dragon reveal was just fucking wow, so goood.

fuck yes, Dragons. Semi-naked Sweat Arc commences! I have a feeling that Luffy's route through the New World is going to show Smoker and co all these fucked up transgressions from the World Government and Marine's past, slowly eroding his allegiance and resolve.
 
I already think Smoker isn't so bent on reaching SH just to fight him. There must be something else. He has something to tell him. There must be. Sure he'll fight/try to capture him later, but I have this gut feeling there's more to his dedication that just to be his 'Garp'.

i don't know about smoker being garp anymore. i don't think garp would approve of his men burning pirates and luffy sure as hell wouldn't let any of his guys torture people like that.
 
makes sense for bleach to start nearing its end. they haven't really build up any other sort of back story other than the spirit king and whatever goes along with that.

Pretty good chapter. So he got the chakra of 5 additional tailed beasts? What does this mean for his powers?

Awesome awesome awesome chapter. Finally seeing Smoker (who's probably gonna play a large role in this arc), a sea of fire and a fucking dragon. Can't wait for the samurai and the inevitable duel with Zorro. Also LOL @ Usopp's disease and Luffy answering the phone.



Bleach is coming to an end?! Pwaise the lawd. There's really nowhere to take the series anymore. Just let Kubo work on a new manga.

So Naruto now has all the tailed beasts inside of him (except the 1 tails I guess and 8 tails?) making him the new sage of the six paths? I mean, that's what it looks like happened there. The sage telling them one day they will all be reunited and the fox saying it's been too long old man? If that's what's going on the wow, how the hell is anyone going to be able to hold a candle to Naruto?

I think he has a portion of the other beasts chakra( maybe all, but I doubt it)

He is probably now equal to the amount of chakra the Mazou has.

Tobi has them, yes. I assume they gave him some power though when they Mega-fist bumped

I was afraid Kishi would slow down the pace of the story with some nonsensical flashback, but that wasn't the case! To start, Naruto's Bijuu mode is insane. He can use Sage mode AND Jinchuriki mode in that state... each of the individual chakra arms had a jinchuriki mode Naruto clone, talk about being versatile. WE FINALLY get to see the Jinchuriki's talk. Kind of a shame that this will most likely be the last time we see them, but I really enjoyed their brief appearance so no harm done. The Sage of the 6 paths flashback was pretty good. Chibi Bijuu's reminded me of digimon. Awesome chapter overall.

Fuck yeah. This is why I love One Piece, a single chapter feels like twice as long as your typical chapter from an ordinary mangaka. To start, Oda wasn't fucking around when he said the new world was dangerous... jesus lightning storms, fires appearing in the sea. O_o
The strawhats are doing what they do best... exploring a pretty big / dangerous island.
The scouting party is really awesome. Luffy, Zoro, Robin & Usopp. I love fearless the former 3 characters are, and it seems that while Usopp got braver, he still can't shake his "can't set foot on dangerous island" disease. XD. Smoker and Tashigi are hot on their trail, this arc has a ton of potential.
Dragonnnnnnnn...! I'm hoping we get a team fight, though I think there might be a misunderstanding here.

PS: Am I the only one that appreciates how Oda draws a boxed lunch for each of the strawhats in almost every arc?

Dude whoa. An entire stretch of sea with a high temperature is incredibly badass.

And then, FINALLY, a hot island arc. God dammit. I hate desert settings, but other hot settings are always my favorites.

Obviously it got some chemistry theme going on so I'm guessing that's where the hot/cold contra comes from. If it's a result of some scientific disaster then it totally makes sense.

I just hope the Samurai doesn't actually belong to Punk Hazard, and he just ended up there (maybe he chased the dudes). Then we could see the real samurai island later on.
Also, didn't Brook's shadow introduce himself as a samurai in Thriller Bark? I could swear he did.

Not getting into the moon analysis (lol what) or anything here but yeah. I'm pretty sure Oda updated all crew ages by 2 since the skip, so the pre-skip of OP is less than a year.
 
Those Bleach spoilers indicate that this (final) arc will be fucking epic...And if all of that stuff is going to happen, it'll probably take 5-8 years.

Epic chapter to say the least. Funny too. Making for an interesting introduction to an arc/island. Dragons? The New World is so goddamn intense man. This chapter was just full of everything that I love about One Piece. Can't wait for Zoro to wreck a/some Samurai.

My mind will be blown if it can top the entirety of the Arrancar saga. I hope Kubo delivers on the fights again, more opportunities to get cool animated fight sequences the better. Maybe he will even develop Keigo into a fighter too as well as evolve the Getsuga Tenshou and get Ichida to fight more and in unison.
 
Oh man, depending on how the second half of the island works, this could make for some sick color clashes in the anime. I'm getting flashbacks to seeing the volcano island at night in Wind Waker.

Toriko up to chapter 102

I tried to start this before but didn't really think it was anything special. However people here keep saying how great it is, so I gave it a try again.

Starts quite slow imo, but with the century soup arc I really came around to it. I really like it, and judging from what I read in this thread it will get even better. Vey nice :)

LOL @ Kurama reminding Naruto about the kiss with The Sauce and chibi version of the beasts looked awesome.

Should be interesting to see what he now has up his sleeve.

Arc is off to a fine start with this crazy island, a Dragon, Samurai and Smoker appearing eventually.

Lets see if the New World really lives up to the reputation Oda keeps hinting at.

Bleach Ending? interesting...

I hope he goes out with a bang for that last arc (Isshin, Ichigo's Family info, Sprit King, Royal Guard, return of Aizen, etc)
 
i'm kinda sad we didn't get an update to the other big characters in the one piece world like we usually do after arcs. i really want to see if shanks has added any of the old whitebeard pirates to his crew. i'm kinda hoping marco joined his crew.

It took until Century Soup? I think I was hooked when it covered the coveted Rainbow Fruit (still my favorite food in the series). As well as getting Terry the epic battlewolf.

Yes, he was the body of a samurai from the same island, Wano. One of Oda's earlier one shots is about him fighting a dragon when he was alive.

Mhh I forgot about Terry, you are right, that arc was great. I don't know, the Rainbow Fruit was nice but I just couldn't connect to the charaters at that point.

Edit: now that I think about the Puffer Fish one was actually the point were I got really interested, especially with the first GT robot showing up. My bad.

Yeah I remember the one-shot and all, but then Zoro said it like he doesn't know what a samurai is, and I remembered otherwise, so I checked and...
