As someone who is very familiar with Korea and Korean culture (born and raised for 8 years, but not Korean), K-pop fans can come off way too creepy for me. Especially those in western countries, that combine exoticism, adolescent affinities, and bad music taste.

I knew I wasn't the only one.

K-Pop Gaf, creeping out Koreans.

Or you know... they just like the music and have different taste from you.

good to see most of the keeaboos saving their rebuts for their community forum wank chamber, where they aren't at the mercy of stupid ignorant westerners and their ugly opinions.

keeaboo? the fuck? that sounds like a slur

Sure it does. Your new theme song is Mr. Taxi

thats how people get put through a table. actually, i have no idea what that sounds like.

aside from the bad music taste comment I agree

music much like humor is subjective and really up to the person

eg I don't like metal/heavy metal/variants of it but I don't say it's bad music -it's just not for me. Some like it and more power to them but just not for me.

edit: I'm 100% korean so take that as you will

This is why we can't have nice things.....

Just close this and leave us alone in the community forum. There was no point for this in the first place.

Wow. These girls are too skinny to the point of almost being ugly too me. I guess I have westernized tastes in women.

Are you an expert? (I kid, I kid.). But you're pretty spot on.

Most of my younger cousins in Korea like some of the kpop bands but not nearly to the same fanaticism that I've seen on GAF and the internet, and they're the target demo (12-16.).

that spunds like something people yell while chasing minorities through the streets man.

Man, What I wouldn't give to chase Koreaboos down the street with a stick or something. But most of the time when I meet then they are dating the younger sister of a friend, and I have to mind my manners.

I wonder if you're the kind of person incapable of enjoying a movie like Men in Black because a movie like There Will Be Blood exists.

If you are as tormented by reality as you seem, you have my pity.
i don't remember anyone making 300 gifs of tommy lee jones raising an eyebrow in an interview and theorycrafting some elaborate masturbatory fanfiction behind why he did it.

have you read kpop fan fiction before? no? ok. well don't knock it until you've explored it.

I think you have to know a person to claim any of these. It's no shock that in a thread dedicated to the sole purpose of discussing kpop and admiring the attractive idols that it would seem like it is the sole thing the people in it are living for, but you don't know those people. That's their dumping ground for a single topic and shallow entertainment, one that they can't really discuss anywhere else because if anyone has the slightest interest, they're already in that thread and don't want to discuss it elsewhere.

You don't know their lives, you don't know their interests, you don't know their attitudes, you don't know how they interact with others, you don't know how they view korean culture overall, you don't what mind they have for cultures other than korean, you don't know what it's like where they live, you don't know their passions, you don't know what they work toward, and you don't know the other reaches to which their musical tastes extend. You fill in those blanks with your imagination. It's silly to imagine a creepy persona for people you don't know and become distracted by it.

that shit is just as banal and diluted as the aforementioned developmentally challenged girlband awfulness, who are korea's envy/mono equivalents?

good to see most of the keeaboos saving their rebuts for their community forum wank chamber, where they aren't at the mercy of stupid ignorant westerners and their ugly opinions.

u mad bro?

Not really familiar with Girls' Generation at all, but I thought they were cute. Regis seemed to *really* be enjoying the performance. ;-)

Compared to a lot of autotuned crap out there, this wasn't bad. I mean, it wasn't exactly *good*, but the girls were nice to look at.

I'm sure having a music thread devoid of mostly music and filled with images of girls is not creepy at all. I've met enough folks in real life who exoticize Asian females and culture. The K-pop music thread filled entirely with imagery does nothing to persuade the opposite.

Gaf has a bunch of chubbie chasers. Just go see the thread about the fitness youtube channel.. body rock or something.

I'd rather listen to Lana Del Ray crap then read about GAFs love for the chubbies, and that's saying alot.

Except the thread you are referring to is not a pure music thread. There is a separate kpop music thread for straight music discussion. Nice try though.

Devoid of music? What... I don't even..

Girls' Generation already has street cred outside of Korea...

So there is a far less popular K-pop music discussion thread compared to the vastly more popular K-pop images thread. Actually, I think this pretty much sums it up.

The hatred and trolling spewed in this thread is exactly why they self-banished themselves to the community forum instead of posting in the OT kpop thread though. Now all of the music gets posted in that thread too.

I guess it would sum it up, if you were a 12 year old illiterate that doesn't know how to read a thread.

The thread got moved to the Community because it was always on the top of the OT with the same posters, not a self banishment.

hatred and trolling=opinions not officially sanctioned by your purgatorial community forum alamo.

that thread is everything wrong with gaf's groupthink sub-communities, the only reason it exists is to keep your sycophantic trash in one place.

why are you so angry ? :(

To be honest, I'd look in the community kpop OT more if there were less animated gifs and image dumping. Too much shit to load and I don't really care for most girl groups. The off-topic kpop thread is basically dead too. lol.

The English lyrics in that song are not a translation of the Korean version. But I get your point, terrible English lyrics in general.

Unless the translations I've seen on youtube, the lyrics aren't that good on any of their hits. Basic "oh I have a crush" "maybe he'll notice me" "I'm trying to forget you" etc that you have on bubblegum pop songs.

I was talking just about The Boys, which doesn't have that theme at all. What song these days ISN'T about that though? Nothing wrong with it.

Well most of the music I listen to outside of kpop for example. Not saying there's anything wrong with simple lyrics.
