They should have given a transparent template, I could do great things with that (and no, I dont feel like taking the 5 minutes to make one myself)

I am impressed by Durant's unimpressed-ness.

Another reason he is better than Lebron. Bron would probably cheer and give props to Blake if he dunked on Bosh. Good lord.

I've already said this before, but honestly, that dunk is not THAT great. Come on.

Don't kill me Blade.

You are dead to me, TCG. :(

Way to maintain integrity, TCG.

If only all Clipper fans could stay humble like you.

This is a great photo where the wife thought Jeff was taking the pic of Mike D. But Dem Cheerleaders.

Nah, just a photo that needed more vertical space to make him look more alone in his frustrations. Not too upset by the girls being there, however.

He's a salty bitch AND LeBron is better than him. You are fooling yourself. Bron is far and away the best player in the league.

Blake may be a flopping bitch but that dunk was fuckin nasty, don't front. He threw it down harder than Upton throws down a Big Mac and fries.

You know Durant thought the same thing when he said "Because it was on my teammate I'm not impressed"

what do you want him to do. stand around and hold up 10's?

And it wasn't that great. it was barely even a dunk. Aggressive layup is closer to the correct term.

Im so tired of that argument. I dont give a fuck what it was, its harder to do than the usual, it was awesome, it was so fast that even in slow-mo his arm blurs, and it made an awesome sound.

If you wanna call it an aggressive layup because thats the only way you can take credit away from it, then good for you, give me 100 aggressive layups before whatever you call a dunk anyday.

Of all the things to argue about ...

I have used my many years in professional editing to enhance your photo in order to truly showcase its original intent. I get paid lots of money for these gifts and I will present them to you for free. You're welcome.

People at work were talking about it the day after and giving Blake crazy props and what not. I thought it was pretty impressive, but I just didn't feel it like they did. I told them it reminded me of Dwight's superman dunk where he essentially threw the ball through the basket. Blake's was obviously way more impressive (in-game, violent, posterization, etc) but I after asscciating it with Dwight's gimmick 'dunk', it just took away from it.

Then I read "aggressive lay-up" here on GAF and thought it was the perfect label for what he did.

Well, if you must know, I have to shoot around people's heads and I rarely frame a shot aside from just making sure my subject is in focus and that they're fully in there. I later crop them down. The actual taking of the picture had nothing to do with the girls. I can take pictures of them all night long if I want. When it came to the crop, it actually looked more deliberate when just their legs were in there, so I put their whole bodies in with a little extra space. But they're only in the crop because it didn't look all that great ending just above Pringles' head.

Phil Jackson has a new book coming out with Penguin Press, humbly titled "Eleven Rings." No word on whether the Gollum of the NBA will add a subtitle: "How I Dominated the NBA Finals despite Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O'Neal"...

As for this "aggressive layup" bullshit, it feels like we're back in 08 when people were crying about Dwight's superman "non-dunk".

Its a gimmick because youve seen it, maybe 3 times in your whole life, but a dunk is impressive eventhough theres dozens upon dozens of them every day?

Its harder to do what he did than the usual way of dunking a basketball. I dont see how thats so hard to understand. If LeBron had jumped over a dude, grabbed the alley-oop pass and threw the ball into the hoop, that would have been more impressive than what he ended up doing.

Im not entirely positive you got my joke.

Of all the things to argue about ...

People are flailing around calling it one of the best DUNKS of all time. I'm not arguing about it, it's a fact, barely one finger touches the rim. So jump off my nuts super salty.

Never said it wasn't a great play, but at the time, i didn't even rate it the best play he made that game. Said so 2 days ago. The one where he jumps to dunk and durant runs away was a better statement play than that one.

"But his hands didn't touch the rim" is so fucking weak to me.....

It sounds like some shit that some puss would say after trying to call a charge in a pickup game or something

Im not entirely positive you got my joke.

If I'm not understanding, please correct me. I thought you were saying that the original reason for taking the picture was just to catch a shot of the cheerleaders. I'm just saying that it's not the case, because I can take pictures of them and my wife wouldn't and hasn't cared. After shooting at a game we go through all my pics and probably one in every 20 is of the dancers, and it's never been an issue.

Actually, this season, i've seen it several times from various players around the league. Blake does this semi regularly because he has the athleticism to do it, and bring his arm down horizontal to reach out and get closer. It's a smart play, and a better shot than him shooting a jumper, if he can't actually make the dunk.

You have to be the biggest nerd on the planet to actually argue whether it was a dunk or not
I usually don't give a fuck, but if people are going to start going on about "but that wasn't a dunk - the dunking manual, TM605.12, states clearly that at least one hand must grip the rim if only momentarily!" then they may as well scream bloody murder for carrying to be called every time someone does a crossover

edit: aggressive layups. word. the funny shit is that the people saying this don't realize its WAY harder to throw it in like that than dunking normally. How do most missed happen? By "aggressively laying it up" - the angle is fucked and its STUPID hard to do once you lose it.

Nooo, I was being sarcastic. I mean, who the fuck crops a guys face through the middle? Your original photo was great.

It is a very funny thing of you to point out the whole "my wife has no problem with it". That takes me back. Ive met my fair share of Mormon wives and ooooh boy, some of them are crazy about shit like that.

yall actin and prancing around like not calling it a dunk, takes away from it being a good play.

Thats on your selves, not the other people.

Why do you need to label it immediately?

Its always been a great play til the nerds come in and start saying "thats not a dunk though... didn't acquire positive control of the rim immediately after releasing the ball! its a nice play... but not a real dunk though" /jimmy neutron

Reality is that its actually a shit-ton harder to do that. Back irons out almost every time.

I didn't say player. Durant is a better person.

You see how they dress? Durant has the heart of a lovely Midwest man.

Would Bron say it was a nasty dunk and sing it's praises if it was on Bosh or Juwan? Or Wade?

Kobe wouldn't if he dunked on Dru or Pau if I bet. I bet he would have murder in his heart if that went down and would seek delicious revenge, PHX suns style.

As i've never played metroid, or posted on IGN. No.

Why, does me pointing out you're wrong make you butt hurt?

Butt hurt? Now I know you posted on IGN.

Shit giri, as a fan of the least athletic team in the league I guess I can't blame you for not knowing what a dunk looks like.

Blake's dunk was badass as hell, and one of the best in game dunks of all time because a 7 foot big ass man jumped straight up, Blake absorbed the contact, went even higher, and then threw it down

Lebron's dunk was a perfectly normal one handed alley dunk that wouldn't have been special if the 5'11 guy wasn't standing right there. Whereas the crazy motion and air time and ferocity of blake's dunk would have been amazing even if Perkins wasn't there.

Moving on, What's the over under on how many assists Rubio gets in the rookie game? Remember when J Will was in the rookie sophmore game and did the elbow pass everyone went crazy about (and then I promptly picked up and started doing)...I think Rubio's gonna have something like 5-7 ridiculous assists that game

Why is giri melting down over semantics?

I actually really don't even care that much, others just decided to get mad salty so i replied.

You should probably check what a melt down is, cause there are others here getting much saltier over it, spaniard, than I.

Lol, someone not me, even posted the definition of a dunk, and it doesn't meet the criteria. C+ for effort though.

Hollinger's All-Star starters:

Rose
Wade
Bron
Bosh
D12

vs.

Cp3
Kobe
Durant
Love
Bynum

East is obviously right. Can't complain about the West choices although LMA and Millsap have equal rights to Love's spot.

Of course, the voters will have Melo and Griffin starting, it seems. TNT will announce it tonight.
