My Gamestop's was still in a case and the guy at my Best Buy said they won't have the demo units out until Saturday... bummer. Was hoping to try one today. Will head back on Saturday!

If this keeps up, I may end up with a Sony brand screen protector. Not that those are bad but I wanted that Hori one the day I got it.

Maybe you'll be able to find the Hori screen protectors in stores when the FEB launches. Amazon lists it as Feb. 22. Maybe that'll change as the time nears.

If my tax return is good (I will be doing my taxes in the next few days), Amazon Prime will be getting a First Edition pre-order. I realized that you're not actually paying for early release...The addition of Little Deviants + the case make up for the additional $50.

$14.99 for Escape Plan, huh? :/

I thought it would be $9.99 but I'll buy it at $14.99. Really digging how it plays. This is my puzzle game for this console for now. When I bought a PSone, it was Abe's Odyssey, until they release that HD version I heard about awhile ago. I'm ok with this.
I need to demo this before buying. I don't like that you aren't in direct control of the characters, but maybe the gameplay surrounding object/scenery manipulation will draw me in. But if I don't buy this, then I'm essentially buying a Vita at launch to play PSP games.

This one seems to be what most people are buying. Its primary selling point is that it's easy to apply without getting air bubbles and whatnot.

Personally, I think I'd rather have a stand-alone screen protector. I don't want that stuff covering the body and possibly picking up lint. Plus, one random comment about it having what I remember were "reflection" issues after about a month's time kinda worries me.

I don't know if this is the case with a lot of screen protectors, but this Hori one seems to have a matte finish, which makes it stand out against the Vita's glossy body. I'm sure it won't be a problem in low-light environs, though.

Seems alright if you get it on as well as you seemingly did, but it's just one more reason I'd either go with Sony's or none at all since I'd probably botch it anyway.

Sounds like Online Multiplayer is something they are considering for Modnation at a later date according to that video.

Or he's just deflecting the question.

Oh that's not mine. Still waiting :)

Application of the Hori protector doesn't seem too complex though. This guy didn't seem to have much trouble:

Man, I was thinking you pulled the bottom layer out from the SIDES rather than the bottom for some reason. Still, it's a pretty large area and I have a lot of trouble keeping dust away, not to mention on the 3DS the under layer ripped on the BOTTOM screen when trying to apply it. If it weren't for those scratches the design can cause on the top screen I'd say that was the biggest reason to even go with a screen protector! At least I managed to get the thing on normally, though that caused some dust to get under afterall.

On the flipside for Sony's screen protector though, it looks like it ONLY covers the screen. That'd be enough... if it weren't for the fact it's a touch screen where I may rub along the edges frequently. I think that'd prove to be a problem eventually, either via knocking it off or simply accumulating more dirt and being uglier.

That actually looks pretty good. I dig matte finishes and would choose that over glossy any day, so maybe I'll reconsider.

I've yet to even finalize what my Vita purchase is going to look like; mulling over regular edition + 8GB + some screen cover + good knock-off case + Grand Knights History in favor of the FEB + GKH.

Guys, what's the difference between the Gloss and the Matt screen protector?

I don't get it :x
One is shiny, the other is dull. Shiny = light reflections. Dull = less light reflections, possibly a reduction in color contrast/saturation? Not exactly sure on that front.

man
so close to release
and not one single system seller announced yet (for me)
wtf sony

psp had crisis core at this point :/

Hmm, now due to the Hori matte & gloss screen protectors, it makes me wonder which one is coming to NA. I would hope for the gloss one, but the screens online make me think it is the matte.

On the left you see a glossy screen, on the right a matte one.

Thx, thinking of ordering both as a precaution

For the dust problem by the way i usually do it in the bathroom, hot water for a good 10 minutes till the room is steamy enough, no dust flying around and it usually go pretty smooth at that point

Vita games will be on US PSN on the 14th, confirmed on Blogcast. Not all launch games though, rest will go up on the 21st

i hate to be a debbie downer but i don't think that says 14.99 for escape plan on that price sheet. pretty sure it says 24.99. hope i'm wrong because that sucks.
