64mb?

Didn't the Japanese games come with foldouts? This has nothing?

So is there any word on when in-store kiosks are going to be put in? Are they already out there?

OMG I'm gonna play one RIGHT NOW. Best buy or Gamestop?

The only thing this system is missing for me is a good online FPS in the launch window.
Yeah. One of the things that made me kind of excited about the Vita was the idea of Call of Duty. I've never played Modern Warfare online, I just, I don't know, it seems weak. The way it autolocks on your opponents. But that Seems absolutely perfect for a handheld/portable FPS. I was really excited to finally experience what everyone is so nuts over. Its a shame, would have been easy money.

I agree.

Unit 13 will fill the shooter void, though.

Does it have online MP?

If Sony can secure CoD for this fall it will definitely move units. Especially if it has all the features of the console version. Bonus if they can work cross-play into it somehow. That would be huge.

Whoa at that spead!

I wonder what speed class that is. Has to be like at least Rapier

The title at the start of the race has R+ on it so must be Rapier or Sub Phantom(maybe their calling it Super Raiper)
I should read the entire thread before replying :p

It never was a launch title in the West.

It will be released on the 18th of April (in France).

I can't completely understand why they think Americans (or Canadians) won't buy titles like Disgaea,.. or whatever logic is behind not releasing them in the West.

There are certain titles I kind of understand not releasing in the West which are released in Japan which are of questionable nature, but outside of that, what gives?

Doesn't help me much living in Regina xD. Oh well I'm sure something will show up somewhere next week. I wanna see that screen!
I was talking to someone and they said there was a Vita at the regina bestbuy but I was there last night and they don't have one plus It didn't seem like the guy knew what I was talking about anyway.

Disgaea is releasing in the west, they want to take the extra time to improve the quality to meet customer expectations.

I do think I read somewhere that there may be a Y's title for Vita in the works. Can't remember where I'd read that though.

It'll be awesome if developers make the commitment to not cut anything out of the vita versions of their games, right from the start. I'm anxious, for example, to see if MLB 12 feels like the console release in terms of game modes / online play. If they get into a habit of releasing full, console quality experiences on the vita, I'm gonna be spending a ton of money on it.

Actually, just after my last post, I started thinking. fEB comes with a case and a 4 gig stick. Not too long after the release of the system, can we expect to see 3rd party cards? If so, FEB isn't a bad idea, even at 4 gigs, because I want to upgrade to a 32 gig 3rd party later (when it's actually affordable). Food for thought I guess...

The only advantage the FEB has is you get it a week early. The cost though is you're paying more for the goods than it would cost if you got the 3G launch bundle. You're paying full price for Little Deviants at $30 and you're paying $30 for that case which is probably worth $20 at best. It's those two factors that has pushed me off the FEB and to wait a week. Also, no guarantee of third party memory so let's not pin our hopes on that.

No. The Podcast last night confirmed some would be up then, and the rest of the 21st.
Has anyone apart from Ubisoft confirmed the PSN availability of their titles on the 14th? Clearly all the Sony titles will be available then.

I know we'll see other titles in stores for the 15th... like Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, FIFA Soccer, Virtua Tennis 4 World Tour, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND, F1 2011, Ben 10 Galactic Racing... but I could see some of those not hitting PSN until the update on the 21st.

I don't think it's realistic to expect that for every launch title.

They should go for a modern warfare greatest hits.
Condense all of the MW storyline into one vita title and make the multi-player a collection of 16 best maps.

Some type of scenario where they rehash old CoD stuff (call it MW: Greatest Hits or what have you...) seems like a realistic first entry in the franchise for Vita.

It minimizes their risk by not having to create entirely new content, and also tests the waters for Vita fanbase for a CoD game. The SP for the game wouldn't make a ton of sense, unless it contained all the prior campaigns or just focused on one....? Not sure how they'd do that...

Or maybe Vita will just be another platform checkbox on the annualized CoD games...?

I was on the line with Gamestop switching my preorder for Hot Shots over to VT so that I could order Hot Shots off of Amazon.com $10 cheaper, and inquired about trading in the 4GB memory card and Little Deviants... in the US, that is.

LD = $15 trade
4GB card = $5 trade

$20 trade in off of a $350 week early unit... wow, I really enjoy overpaying for convenience. Shiny object, .. must.. have... now. (even if I can't play it the next day, being Valentines Day and all).

There's a huge spread on MLB 12 in the current issue of Game Informer (Gamestop mag). It sounded interesting enough on the Vita, despite the fact that they cut out presentation. After a while I press the buttons to get to the next at bat on the PS3 version, so I don't see it being an issue for some people.

release dates the 15th for the vita , Valentines day is the 14th so youll be able to play the day and the day after (the 16th)

Im on the fence like every one else the 3g launch bundle is seeming to be a better deal but my heart set on the 15th!

What a rip off. Sell your 4gb card on craigslist, or maybe someone here can buy it off you.

Oops, you're right. I can ignore my wife the next day! (I hope she doesn't read this)

Yeah, even though it makes no sense financially, logically, or otherwise..... shiny object!!

That's a little disappointing, considering presentation is what makes The Show...The Show.

I suppose it's to be expected from launch window titles though. I'm not saying vita versions need to be perfect console ports from day one, but it'll be encouraging to see them at least move in that direction fairly quickly.

Moving from BluRay to 4gb is probably the biggest challenge for ports. That's probably the reason why it got cut.

Sounded more of a design decision than cutting presentation due to lack of time. San Diego wanted players to be able to finish games in 20 to 30 minutes. Not like all presentation is cut, just mainly the cut scenes between plays and during at bats.

From reading around on the Wipeoutzone forums, I think its:

C = Flash
B = Rapier
A = Phantom
A+ = Super Phantom

I could be wrong though.

EDIT: You know, why did they have to change it at all. I thought the speed system they already established was cool enough.

Wipeout 2048 is a prequel to the first wipeout, it takes place during the first season meaning speed names weren't defined yet and that's why the name are different.

I'll take cloud save sharing between PS3/Vita over presentation anyday.

The 3g launch bundle is really the way to go, imo. Unless you're really excited for little deviants and were going to buy it anyway, I guess. It's weird, by introducing the 3g bundle sony basically made the first edition bundle and the wifi only system pretty much pointless, unless you're really impatient.

Are people who were already thinking of picking up a large memory card (16gb or 32gb) still going to pick up the 3g launch bundle?

Pointless how? The Wi-Fi unit + 8gb card still saves you $20 if you don't care about 3G. Also, the "free" 250mb data session in the 3G launch bundle only kicks in after you've paid for the first session.

Verdict's still out on the FEB bundle though. Not sure it's worth it, though my opinion might change as launch nears. hnnnng.

Although, as someone pointed out, it does beg the question of why the barrel roll boost is in there. When did that find its way into the series? Was it HD or the PSP games?

Moving from BluRay to 4gb is probably the biggest challenge for ports. That's probably the reason why it got cut.

The developers for MLB: The Show said that the reason they cut out presentation (not all of the presentation, just a lot of it) was not because the Vita couldn't handle it, or for file size reasons. They cut it out because they said something about handheld gamers not playing a single title for hours on end. They wanted to make it more "handheld friendly" where you could play a game in about ten or so minutes.

I'm wavering between the 3G bundle with the 8GB mem card, PSN Vita game voucher ($10 game, right?), and 250MB At&T data vs. a WiFi with a 32GB.

I'm potentially thinking about getting the 3G bundle and then selling the 8GB memory card (for maybe $15 or $20) and getting a 32GB mem card also.

I'm going to be buying Super Stardust regardless, so I figure that I can use the $10 PSN Vita voucher on that. In the end I would be paying $25 more by going with the 3G Bundle, but I would be gaining the 3G Vita instead of the WiFi, and would also get a month of 3G data...

Also, the "free" 250mb data session in the 3G launch bundle only kicks in after you've paid for the first session.

Is this confirmed? This extra $15 I'd have to pay would definitely lock me into getting the WiFi Vita + 32GB
