Should I go to the LEGO store in Downtown Disney this weekend? [Y/N]

It's about 60 miles from me. Is it that much cooler than the regular LEGO stores?

done, and holy shit, it's so amazing :D

I've thrown all the pieces in one box and just started building. After some time, I realized this thing actually has some sort of gear control over the tower, and when I was finished, I really was amazed how authentic it works. I'll try and take a few pics tomorrow.
OH GOD it's so adorable!

Sweet! I might have to check that out actually; I was unimpressed with the interactivity of the light in Whitecap Bay. Might be cool to throw 'em together.

Yes :P I am planning on going to the Lego store in the Mall of America tomorrow in the hope that they haven't pulled all the Kingdoms sets yet.

You might want to call ahead. Excluding MMV (which isn't really Kingdoms anyway) and the new Royal Joust, all of the kingdoms stuff has been gone from my local LEGO store for months.

Yeah I'd have to agree, levels the playing field and it's always fun to see what you can get away with with a limited piece count.

Also it gives me an excuse to by another set :P

You press the roof, the light shines. Then, there's a gear driven mechanism that circles a mirror below the light, so you actually get that typical light beacon shine :D

I really love it and don't regret that 40€ any more now :=)

I think I might then tbh thou the one I really need is the MMV, I have most of the rest.

Honestly don't do it right now. The "regular" store is under construction so it's in a temporary location in Downtown Disney and much smaller while they rebuild. I normally go to the South Coast Plaza store about once a week at lunch and it's bigger than the temporary DtD location. Maybe call and find out when their remodel will be done. The South Coast Plaza store is pretty nice though.
 
Four-headed dragon, yeah I'm not gonna be able to resist that.

My wife got me the rattlecopter for Christmas and it remains my only Ninjago set. I'd love to dip into it eventually. The rattlecopter was a lot of fun to put together.

LEGO 9469 Gandalf Arrives - $12.99 (below Helms Deep)
LEGO 9470 Shelob Attacks - $19.99 (bottom right)
LEGO 9471 Uruk-hai Army - $29.99 (bottom left)
LEGO 9472 Attack On Weathertop - $49.99 (top right)

My guess is that LEGO will probably release the lord of the rings sets in chronological order, just like the movies. It would make sense no?
 
Are extra pieces common? Got let off work early today so I stopped by ToysRUs and picked up a kit (4430, 522 pieces for just over $41 isn't that bad I guess). Just finished part one and there are 4 extra pieces kicking around... I followed all the step too :|

Almost every set has extra pieces.

My space shuttle set got me an extra gold visor piece, and yes, it's common to get a few extra pieces. Even some tiny sets come with extras.

Kit assembled! Was a lot of fun putting it together. I liked the little touch of having the Lat/Lon of Billund on a sticker in the kit :p Also like how smooth the wheels seem, and how the three parts work well with each other.

Well, you're probably right. But then spin it positive, it means I can let my kids build one half while I build the other. they get to join in without building bits I want to build, and I avoid the repetition of two identical builds :)

Likewise I'm not super-keen on the Fire bridgade, but I might sacrifice that to my kids so they're distracted while I build the Grand Emporium.

Grand emporium etc - yes, there are multiple floors with interior decorations. But the earlier sets were sparse - cafe corner apparantly is pretty empty inside. But they don't have open rear walls so not that great as a playset I guess - you have to remove the upper floors to see. Might have a look after building my first to see if I can leave the rear wall off so my kids can play with them.

Bridge I don't know - I assume not

VW camper is very playable and really detailed inside (not city though)
 
I'm looking to pick up a cheap 200-400 piece set for the Mrs to do with my 2 year old today, she's felt left out.

Any good bargains out there that I can find today(UK)?

Ahh cool. I always love those with interior being decorated!
