I just have no interest in these LOTR sets, is it just me?

I'm only interested in the trolls/dwarves so I can cycle them into my existing minifigs. I'm not that bothered about the license or the sets- the Marvel Superheroes are probably going to get a lot more of my money.

Are there any known Marvel sets already, or is it still just that one picture of a few figs?

Fun weekend ahead :D

I was eyeing this hard at target

I have the shuttle expedition coming, so I may get it after that.

Cafe corner and to a lesser extent green grocer...I think there have only been five. Town hall makes six.

discontinued:
- Cafe Corner
- Green Grocer
- Market Street (I think this still counts)

Current but going soon:
- Fire Brigade

current:
- Grand Emporium
- Pet Shop

coming soon:
- Town Hall

at least, I think thats it.

And all the new ones (current) have interiors, cool!

According to a thread on Toys N Bricks Walmart has a lot of the older sets for 50%.

http://www.toysnbricks.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4804&sid=94afe8ee141f64795b0071e2b9f97a4d

YMMV as I went to 5 Walmarts in Orange County, CA and nothing mentioned in the thread that I scanned was marked down. Maybe others will have better luck in their area. A few notables from the thread though are Millennium Falcons and Queen Anne's Revenge for 50% off. Good luck if you go hunting!

Got my Mini Modulars in the mail last night -- that shipping was faster than I expected. This should be a fun week of building.

Tan "cheese slopes"... You'll get to know them well. LOL

Are those the 1x1 45 degree slopes? Having been away from Lego for a while, I think those are my favorite new piece. They add a ton of polish to a lot of models and make non-blocky stuff look a lot better.

There are deals here in Canada. The one I was in didn't have much left but most of it was half price. They had it in another section of the toys with the new full priced sets in a different isle. So look around the whole toy section if your out looking for deals.

Those are the ones, and I am big fan of them as well, as there are a huge number of color variants.

The Tower Bridge just happens to have 556 of them in tan.

Grabbing these from the Tested thread.... the gang from Tested has reached the promised land!

I love the LEGO store - go there once every couple weeks.

Just spent most of the day sat of the floor of my son's bedroom, sorting lego. The not-so-fun side of the hobby. Trying to get together all the pieces for the two large technics sets I'm going to sell.

Where do all the parts go? We've broken down most of the sets in the house, and there are still quite a few pieces missing. I think the house just eats them, like with nerf ammo.

Man a whole lego store near me would be scary.

There was a sale in a local symths toys on lego grabbed this and a couple of tubs of mixed blocked for tomorrows adventure with the kid. It was only a few quid, I was mega tempted to get something big.

Thanks to Brickipedia I made sure I got max bricks for my money.

I'm sure it's the ocd talking, but this is my favorite part of the hobby by a considerable margin

I've always thought that some OCD types might go so far to build with all the LEGO logos on the pieces facing the same direction.

That would be brutal.

Thank goodness I'm not quite that bad

Perhaps this is where my irrational distaste for the friends line comes from; I have nothing else in pastel...there will be nothing to sort ; ;

I've got a big cup of coffee and a turkey sandwich. I'm now starting in on my very first LEGO build ever. I didn't play with them as a kid (I liked my TMNT and GI Joe action figures). I saw the Queen Anne's Revenge ship from the Pirates of the Caribbean line at Fred Meyers a few weeks ago on sale. I've never watched any of the movies or anything, but thought the thing looked cool so I went ahead and grabbed it.

This looks like it's going to be fun.

Awesome! I just started that one last night. Lots of cool minifigs and the cannons seem like they could put an eye out just as easily as any toy from the 80's ever could!

I don't mind the breaking down and putting away - just throwing pieces into the correct sections of our drawers. This was recreating the pieces from two large technics sets - so I had to pick exactly the right number of each part and put it in a little resealable bag. Took ages and still not finished.

BTW, anyone know a good place to get different sized sealable bags? Ideally a high street store in the UK, but online if necessary.

Ugh this thread is a nightmare. I want the Lego Super Star Destroyer but have so far resisted but this thread makes it hard

I had no real plans to buy it but they have it fully built at our local LEGO store and once you see how amazing it looks you just can't resist!

The SSD was a very fun build.

Its pretty much guaranteed to triple in value, even if opened in just a few years. I'm pretty sure I'll sell mine and maybe use the funds to ebay one of the UCS Falcons.

That is what I am afraid of. I have the UCS Star Destroyer and that is fantastic so I just know the Super Star Destroyer would be too hard to pass up. Even more so now that I just got my tax return check heh

Damn, why did I click on this thread??

I love me some LEGO, but sadly, I don't the room for half of the awesome stuff posted in this thread. I just don't know where I'd put any of it. I just live vicariously through the LEGO video games. *sigh*

I've come to downgrade the LEGO quality in this thread. I don't buy any new sets, but I did dig into my old collection and gave my hand at free-ball building an F15 Eagle.

Kick ass!

Exhaust (I used small tires).

Yes that is a Christmas tree I used as a nose cone. That's version 1.0, I plan to tear it down and rebuild now that I have a better idea of what to do.

Crap! I managed to track down a set of the Village Mill Raid, but the damn thing is missing a bag of pieces. After completing 75% of it, I start up the last building only to notice that my box is lacking the 'small' bag #4. :L

Give in to your feelings and your impulses. I did.

Damn @ that Whitta haul. I noticed the Black Pearl looking awesome, too. That, the X-Wing, the Millenium Falcon, the Imperial Shuttle, and the Death Star are all on my want list.

Christ, why do I look in this thread? Every day I want to blow all my money and buy a huge Lego set. I MUST BE STRONG!

I planned on getting an iPad 3 if I had enough on my tax return, but it may be Lego sets instead. Dammit.

I don't have room/ can't justify 399 on the SSD.

However, the shuttle would probably looking freaking awesome on my entertainment center. Has anyone built one? How is the overall set?

Yes. Buy SSD for full retail price. open box carefully, keep instructions in mint condition. Build, enjoy. Sell on bricklink for 90% of original value or alternatively wait 12-18 months and sell for 150% of the value

So the Star Wars sets are guaranteed to go up in value? Even if everybody is hoarding stockpiles of them in anticipation of that?

I've contemplated buying something from Bricklink for a long time. Probably the Toa Lhikan set. Easily the coolest set in that series.
