You guys would better off investing in either Ys or Legend of Heroes Trails. I think it was posted that P3P was 20 not that long ago.

I know a lot of people are going to download some PSP titles from the store. Make sure you check out the 2 packs. Sometimes they are cheaper than buying a single game... for example: LocoRoco/Patapon- $14.99. Patapon by itself is $15.99. If you were looking for Patapon on the PSN, it wouldn''t show you that it is part of a 2 pack for less money.

2 packs are $14.99
LocoRoco / Patapon
Motorstorm: Arctic Edge / Twisted Metal: Head On
Secret Agent Clank / Daxter
Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow / Killzone: Liberation
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror / SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo (1st one)

The first three bundles make sense.. Why not bundle LS and DM together?

I'd love to replay LS/DM with dual analog.

Was thinking about purchasing games this morning on PSN. I like the idea of doing this since you can download as many times as you want but if I want to let my son borrow the game on his vita, kinda makes it impossible since he would have to reformat his vita and log in as me to download the game.

Aside from all the Vita stuff I'm picking up at launch, I also want to grab a couple psp games that I missed out on. I had a psp but I know I missed out on a ton of games. Any JRPGs you guys would recommend? I was also considering monster hunter but I don't really wanna play the game alone. Would it be worth the purchase?
Everyone has differing opinions, but I thought the best PSP RPG was Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. I put over 60hrs into it.

My thoughts exactly.

If you have a PS3, you can download and store the game on it and transfer the game on 2 portable devices.

My advice for peeps new to psp looking to dl some games for their Vita, the US store has a wider selection of games (esp. RPGs) than EU. I would recommend you setup multiple accounts to get the most out of the stores.

First Post :)
I'm getting,
The Vita first edition wifi bundle, I'm from Canada.
Uncharted, Hot shots, and one more game (waiting for some reviews)
Can't decide if I shuld get the hori screen protector or just the sony one.
I will also be grabbing gravity rush whenever that comes out.

I guess maybe I was thinking about another game or an in store price. There are plenty of great choices though.

Anyone try that PS3 program that lets you play online with Vita PSP games? Can't remember the name of the app.

It's called Ad Hoc party. I've never used it but I heard it worked fairly well. I don't think you will be able to use this on the Vita, but I am not sure.

Edit: Thanks mortimer

Adhoc party works on the vita with PSP games, or atleast that's what people have posted. It doesn't work with Vita games though.

going back and forth on this a lot...

I keep thinking "Well, if I get bored of the games I'll just play Birth By Sle...damn!"

i will totally have money to drop on this thing, but I feel like I should wait.

At this point they should just release BBS on psn. It has been almost a year and a half since release, anybody that wanted it badly by now has pirated or bought the game.

There's licensing issues. It's not an unwillingness to want to release a PSN version, since both Sqaure Enix and Disney release a lot of PSP gmaes on PSN.

I imported a Vita Hori screen protector; so far, for me, that's been the only way to be able to apply the protector to a system that I get on launch day.

I know, however, that Fry's carries the Hori screen protectors; they might have the Vita one on the official launch date, the 22nd. For those looking to apply it day one, that's probably the best option, since an import right now would probably not arrive in time unless you paid a ton for shipping.

Oh, and Play N' Trade stores sell Hori protectors as well.

Oh, that makes sense; I heard recently that Square Enix and Disney go through a ton of debate when planning Kingdom Hearts games. I wonder which PSP UMD games are missing from the PSN store because of licensing. Crisis Core? I doubt it?...

my order as it currently stands:

Playstation Vita - WiFi
32GB Memory Card
PS Travel Pouch
wipEout 2048

Since I never owned a PSP i'll be picking up some older games day-1 as well. Still deciding on what, but Monster Hunter will be one of them. It's frequently cited, but I'm very disappointed in the selection of DD PSP games -- particularly in the RPG genre. This badly needs to change now that the Vita is being pushed to the fore, and it's shameful that most of these games aren't already DD since the PSPGo has been on the market for so long.

Seriously considering snatching Army Corps of Hell instead of wipEout... wipEout sure looks pretty but I'm not sure a racing game can hold my interest all that long, and the idea of a 'mature' Pikmin game is intriguing...

(BTW, first post. Hello!)
Seriously? Most of the best RPGs for the PSP are available on PSN... You're missing Crisis Core (which ain't much of a RPG imho, despite being the prequel to an iconic FF), Breath of Fire III (never released in NA) and Brave Story (meh, over-rated), and some of the other earlier ones aren't there, but you have the Persona's, the Y's, Lunar, Half-Minute Hero, Riviera, Knights in the Knightmare, Hexyz Force... all the XSeed, NiS and Atlus games basically... not to mention the SRPGs like Jean d'Arc, FF Tactics, Ogre Battle and Wild Arms XF... basically, there's an embarrasment of riches for JRPG fans on PSN for the PSP, and that's before we start looking at all the great PSX JRPGs that are on PSN now (and Playstation titles will be playable on the Vita in short order, no doubt)... just look again...

I'm getting both Wipeout and ACoH because I'm weak...

and btw, welcome to GAF...

How much is Persona 3 Portable on PSN right now?
$39.99 - and worth every damned penny (but I got it for $19 during one of the on-line sales)

Ya, one of the things we loved about PSP games on PSN before Nov. last year was that you could install the game on five systems running the same account - we've got five in the house, five PSPs, and ran them all under one account, so I could buy a game once and my wife, myself and the kids could all play it at the same time (which is fun! "Where are you?" "How did you beat him?" "I can't get this puzzle!")... Now they've changed it to two activations per account, and of course, Vita will actually have trophies and social gaming functionality so you'll want to use your own account, so the incentive to buy from PSN has been significantly reduced... I'll still buy games there, but I'll buy on-line exclusives and PSN games and PSX games; main titles I'll probably stick to physical media until they loosen up the restrictions a bit...

Amazon UK look like they're expecting to ship those protectors the week before the console launch. I guess that's no good for US First Edition pre-orders. :(

Yay, finally my account got accepted! :)

So, first post.

I'm also getting the vita at launch, but still don't know what case i should get.
I only know that i want a soft one.

Is there any good soft-case?

Well, i'm getting:

3G Vita
Uncharted
WipEout 2048
32GB MC

And maybe (if amazon.co.uk doesn't cancel it) ...
Rayman
Lumines
Dungeon Hunter Alliance
... thanks to the priceerror

I really want to go out to some Gamestop just to get hands on with a Vita. It'll probably look and feel way more impressive in my hands. Now it will be a matter if I really need two portable game consoles that I will hardly use . :/

Wait WHAT?

media go doesn't work with vita? I'm away from home right now and have no ps3 around me. HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO GET THE DL GAME?

You guys, have you had the opportunity to try Fifa 12 in any store?
I'm asking this because this is my most wanted title but I've just figured out that the game has some major slowdowns (frame rate drops).

Look at this video at minute 2:00 (and after).

Tell me there is an explanation :(

I'll echo the chorus by stressing that The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is essential JRPG gaming crack for anyone that has professed to be a fan of the genre... past or present.

I've revised my launch day Vita purchase plan of attack as follows...

First Edition Bundle w/ FREE Uncharted: Golden Abyss - $299 (BestBuy.ca Reward Zone Deal)

32GB Memory Card - $99.99 (Gamestop.com - found a place that will ship to Canada early; scheduled to ship next Tuesday; should arrive before the 15th; still have an order for $94.99 at BestBuy.ca as a backup)
Hori Pitahari Gloss Filter w/ Rear Touch Screen Protector - $16.11 (PlayAsia Import - went this route now that the Hori filters have all been delayed to late February through Amazon)
Vita Cradle - $14.99 (BestBuy.ca)
Vita In-Ear Headset - $14.99 (BestBuy.ca)
Sony 2-Pack Screen Protector - $4.99 (BestBuy.ca) (will act as holdover until the Hori filters arrive - although they may arrive pre-launch courtesy of FedEx)

I'd be splurging on a case as well but I feel that's a tad presumptuous until I get a chance to see how convenient the First Edition case is in person. More GAF testimonials on the third-party options are highly welcome.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend - $34.99 (BestBuy.ca)
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - $24.99 (BestBuy.ca)
Wipeout 2048 - $24.99 (BestBuy.ca)

Despite the good prices on the games, I may can those orders and roll with PSN if they don't ship out next weekend.
My intent is to go almost exclusively digital and only the cheap prices and BlazBlue's 3+ GB size is keeping them in play right now.

Man, don't laugh guys (and the odd girl :P ) but I actually quite dig the Protective Armour

NERF Protective Armor for PSVita
SO6266

Product Description
NERF playthrough armor protects the PlayStation Vita system while providing a comfortable grip for extended play sessions. The Armor features pass through ports for easy access to the system jacks and covered ports with pass through buttons. A removable PS Vita rear-touch panel doubles as game storage for up to 3 PS Vita Game Cards. Available in 3 colors: Yellow, Blue & Purple. *PS Vita system and PS Vita game cards sold separately; each color Armor sold separately. Officially Licensed by Sony and Hasbro.

Only issue I have is do you have to remove the rear-touch panel to actually use the Vitas touch panel?

Combine that armour with one of those full face Hori Protectors and you probably wouldn't need a case when it's in your [Man]bag/ruck sack.

I'm joking about the man-bag.

;)

If i buy via PSN say 3 games on the Vita, can i queue them, leave the Vita, and all 3 will download, or is it a case of one at a time?

I have a question regarding PSN-PSP games on a Vita:

Is it confirmed that PSP games can utilize the 2nd analog on the Vita? (to control the camera in Peace Walker for example)
If yes, Doesn't each game need some kind of an update or a patch to utilize the 2nd analog?

I ask this since it seems highly unlikely that any PSP games will get an update from their respective devs just for that.

Yes, everything can use it.
And no, no patch is necessary, since it's the PSP emulator's feature.
Via WiFi directly onto your Vita... or, you can use Content Manager Assistant for Playstation...
You can't download games directly on your PC through that app.

Yes, once one download is done it'll start the next.

This is a question building off that last one....please god Sony tell me you have figured this out...

After I download a game do I then have to install it also? Like on the PS3. Or once it's downloaded is it ready to play? Like the Xbox 360?

The demo was at the kiosk at my Gamestop. It ran great and I can't remember any slow downs at all. That video is pretty crazy, I'm definitely hesitant now and will be waiting for some reviews and general thoughts before I buy it.

It installs itself automatically once it finishes downloading.

So you still have to wait for it to install?
