Shiny!

I'd be interested in a glossy to matte finish comparison.

That is honestly the first white phone I've ever thought looked good. A 900(10) in white should look incredible.
The iPhone looks damn good in white (dare I say the best) What makes it boring is the fact that it Only comes in white or black. And there's only 2 models in the past 4 years.

The Lumia 800 is the first phone post-iPhone that feels like its futuristic in all the good ways. Hate that T-Mobile hasn't taken on the 800.

Some other, more significant news:

Future Windows (Phone) 8 form factors:

However Albert Shum, the General Manager of the Windows Phone Design Studio, showed TechRadar a slide at Nokia World where today's Windows Phone becomes just one of six devices.

Claiming this was "something we're still working on," he said "you want an ecosystem that's not just about having just one or two things; you want diversity."
Tablets on the roadmap

Explicitly positioning Windows Phone alongside PCs and tablets, he added: "If you do well not just on phone but on PC and on tablet, then your ecosystem can really live and breathe" – so it's unlikely that the largest device on this slide would be a Windows Phone tablet.

Windows phone 8

That would be confusing for Windows 8 on ARM, and would contradict what Steven Sinofsky told TechRadar; "for us the phone is uniquely focused on the small form factor".

From the relative sizes on the slide, the largest is a 5-inch tablet, discounting the largest as a separate Windows 8 tablet.

Although HTC has two 4.7-inch Windows Phone devices already, the 480 by 800 screen resolution isn't enough to make the most of the screen.

Adding a higher resolution for larger screens will make Apollo better placed to compete with 5-inch and 7-inch devices like the Samsung Note and the Kindle Fire.
A Windows Phone Nano?

The other three form factors look like a smaller phone (enabling cheaper Windows Phone handsets for the developing world) and two devices with squarer screens, one with a facing keyboard (to satisfy business users) – and a smaller device that may be suited for the youth markets.

If the devices are in proportion, that's a screen just larger than 1-inch; perfect for the Windows Phone equivalent of the iPod nano or competing with current fitness devices.

Fragmentation coming in 3 ... 2 ... 1 ...

as long as the internal hardware is kept within a restraint, the fragmentation will be no way as bad as it is on android.

damn, i wanna see a pic of that white 800 with the light theme.

Imagine, a Zune Nano with only ONE Tile on the screen at once ;)
Somehow sexy...

edit: A Win8 tablet wth the Lumia design treatment would be great.

Ahaha....
I am not getting those inbetween things. Tablet and phone, I don't need more. And even tablet is a stretch becaue I only use my iPad at home.

Bought a blue Lumia 800 this weekend. Very happy so far. I have a question for other Lumia owners, do you use the condom that came with the phone? On the one hand I want to keep the phone scratch free, but on the other hand the condom hides the beautiful finish with ugly cheap rubber. I didn't use any kind of cover with my old phone (Nokia N900) and it has a deep scratch across the screen, no idea how that got there. The gorilla glass should prevent those scratches I guess.

I'm on T-Mobile and I'm thinking of getting a second phone for business stuff. What's the current best phone on T-Mobile right now and is there anything coming soon enough that I'm better off waiting? I already have a Galaxy S2, so I figured picking up a WP7 would be pretty cool.

I hate that Canada is getting shafted by the big three. And wind refuses to even look at wp7.

It is getting a bit better, just taking longer. 710 is out, 800 will be at Telus hopefully soon. The 900 is rumoured to be coming to Rogers and the Radar was announced for Sasktel.

there's the HD7 which is a premium first gen phone. it can be had very cheap. a big negative is that the screen isn't as good as the newer phones.

there's also the Radar and the Lumia 710, both mid-level phones.

nothing announced yet as far as new phones in the horizon. t-mobile though is selling the Radar and the 710 at a very good rate so i expect them to continue to support the platform. nokia also went on record to say they want to release a slew of smartphones to all carriers, we'll see.

Nope, still in its box.

I would just keep the phone in a pocket of its own (no keys/change).

Although beware, the silver accent on the back does get scratchs from being placed on a table etc.

The only phone I would want from those 4 would be the 900. And there's no way I am going to Rogers...again. And i went into Rogers store this sat. And asked of they had any lumia 710. And they said no. Saying they're here and actually having the said phone are two different things.

I would likely leave my Transformer for a WP tablet. Such a beautiful interface. I hope the Lumia brand gets big in the U.S.

I used it until I got a pocket for the phone. Only to drop it on the floor a few days later... Now one edge is a bit dented, dunno how much of a difference the rubber would've made.

The glass is definitely not invincible, I'd recommend some kind of pocket/cover/bag. I already have a few tiny scratches in it. Not really visible most of the time, but still.

Definitely using the condom for the phone. Going by friends, they still see it as a new and shiny phone.

I don't think that's grey, it's probably black.

oh, a friend is leaving his blackberry and is about to pull the trigger on a Titan. any reason why he shouldn't? I did tell him about the titan 2 and the 900 but wasn't to impressed with the slight upgrades (lte). isn't there someone with a titan having poor call quality here?

Make him wait for the Titan 2. No reason to get the current for the same price as a new model 1 month from now.

I have a Titan 1 right now and while I love it there are some flaws.

We just need MWC to hit so we can hopefully get some more info on things, and maybe we get some clarity on things like the above form factors.
