So far, HeartCatch is following the magical girl monster of the week formula perfectly, but it does it well, and I've been promised it only gets better. There were a lot of very pulled back shots in this episode, though, with some awful drawing.

Anyway, Erika > Tsubomi
Just keep watching, you might change your mind.
Are your bodies ready for the return of literature girl?
My body is ready.
Yo you can't just post that man! You need that build up...
Spoilers for the whole thing:
Yuri > Itsuki
> Erika > Tsubomi
I'm inclined to agree but transformation wise....
OH GOD YES, PLEASE.

...

Wait, this can't be happening right? Omigawa?

WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?

Of all things, this happened. I feel betrayed.

I didn't want to be the one to break it to you!

Dirty Pair 18

There was some weird-looking art in this episode, particularly the vehicles. The content was amazing as always though, especially the climax.
Driving that tractor trailer through the police station like a boss, and then blithely driving away as the station crumbles into the ground behind them.
Quintessential Dirty Pair.

At least it's not as bad as when
they blew up that whole planet on episode 9. I mean, it exploded in about ten minutes so there's no way everyone got off alive. Genocide on an intergalactic scale!

I'll like to add that the casting for Mysterious Girlfriend X is not officially confirmed. It will be revealed at the end of this month.

Musings on Another 05:

Thinking further on it, it's clear that Mei can't be the ghost. At this point we not only know that Mei is real, we also know that she can't be the ghost because her cousin died and Mei was visiting her dead body in the morgue in episode 1. Which is actually more creepy now that we know Mei is human, who the hell visits their dead cousin's body in the hospital morgue? You're cuter than is legally allowed Mei, but damn you're creepy!

I still want Misaki Mei as Mai Waifu. ^^

We now also know what the title 'Another' references, it's talking about how the cursed Class 3 always has 'another' student who isn't human.

Looks like Disney has high hopes for The Secret World of Arrietty, since they're planning an opening weekend release on more than 1200 screens.
For comparison, Ponyo opened on about 900 screens, and Howl's Moving Castle on a mere 200.

I think it makes sense because they can cross over the brand appeal of Studio Ghibli with a well known property like The Borrowers.
It's better than Ponyo, at the very least.

But Ponyo had better sakuga!
Gundam 00 Season 1 Eps 1-10

I like this more than I expected, the setting have so much potential, and a change from the old gundam space colony vs earth formula. I think this is the first time a gundam show based on real nations, and actual conflicts (war in middle east, etc).

I, er, yes. Well.

Since I'm a sucker for lists, here's my current thoughts about the spring season:

Definite watches:
- Fate/Zero S2
- Hyouka
- Ozuma
- Sakamichi no Apollon
- Saint Seiya Omega
- Space Bros.
- Tsuritama

Possible watches:
- Dusk Maiden of Amnesia
- Eureka Seven AO
- Ginga e Kickoff!!
- Mysterious Girlfriend X
- Natsuiro Kiseki
- Zetman

Morbidly curious about:
- Haiyore! Nyaruko-san
- that Saki spinoff

Apollon, Tsuritama, Uchuu Kyodai and even Fate/Zero, its gonna be the season of the bros.

That's what I said!

I guess it's list time?

I plan on checking out all these shows, although I don't know how many of them I'll keep up with though.

- Eureka Seven AO
- Hyouka
- Fate/Zero S2
- Kids on the Slope
- Tsuritama
- Saint Seiya Omega
- Space Bros Thing
- Ozuma

That looks like my own list, although I'm not going to bother with AKB48 or the Rock Lee thing.
Gotta watch AKB for the possible life lessons man.

I'll like to add that the casting for Mysterious Girlfriend X is not officially confirmed. It will be revealed at the end of this month.

I know you will be crushed if Omigawa isn't doing it.

Only two people have mentioned Ozuma. :/ teh fuck

Well technically it starts in March so its not really a true Spring show I suppose.

Man, I'm nowhere near ready to talk about Spring yet, got enough going on right now; don't know how you all can do it. About the only things I know I'll watch all the way for sure are Fate/zero S2 and Sakamichi no Apollon.

Easy if you're not watching anything right now.

I guess I'll catch up to, uh, Chihayafuru.

Time to go along with the hivemind.

Spring watch list:

- Tsuritama
- Space Bros
- Tasogare x Amnesia
- Sankarea
- Nazo no Kanojo (The manga just dragged and dragged, hopefully a little more excitement from the anime)
- Zetman
- Saint Seiya
- Appolon
- Ozuma
- Hyouka (Really looking forward to this one)

So much better than the current season. I'M READY FOR YOU SPRING.
No more slushy winter roads is a big plus too

So how long is Cajun's ban? Was it a perma?

1 month apparently

To be fair, it only feels like we're approaching another season because this thread is nearly at 18,000 posts. Of course, we're only half-way through Winter at this point.

So how long is Cajun's ban? Was it a perma?

You know, it just occurred to me that during all my time here I've only ever witnessed one perma, and that one was set by someone who's not a moderator anymore.

edit: Actually, I'm mistaken, I doubt that AngelSoldier is ever coming back so that raises the number of permas I've witnessed to 2.

I get the feeling that Kouchi is the person who is already dead, which would be rather cliche so I hope that's not what will happen.

I started the trend bro!

It's not like people get perma-banned in this kind of thread.

I just wish cajunator keeps on watching cute things. I sometimes get the feeling that he needs this thread as a way to vent from all the stupid shit in his life.

Yup, all the pieces fit with Kouichi being the 'other'. You'll notice that anybody else who acknowledges the existence of Mei dies almost immediately, except for Kouichi. How is this possible? Because he is already dead, he can't die again!

Incidentally, the guy who left the note for Kouichi to go ask Mei what's really going on, he's going to die next based on this theory since in order to leave the note he had to acknowledge Mei's existence.

This is also kind of sad really, because the next episode implies him and Mei falling in love, which will inevitably end with Mei's heart being broken because he's dead and will likely vanish at the end of the year. Poor Mei's been through a lot. She's being ritually removed from existence for the collective good of the whole class, though she seems accepting of the role and even warns Kouichi to stay away from her. She's so kind and self-sacrificing to let her classmates do that to her. Despite being a bit creepy, she would be such a gentle and wonderful Waifu. <3 It would be cruel to have her fall in love with a ghost after all she's been through, although the lyrics of the OP really imply that's exactly what will happen. ;_;

In unrelated news, Mei says her doll eye lets her see things which should be unseen. Does this mean she can see ghosts? If so, shouldn't she already know exactly who the ghost is, including if it's Kouichi?

All that spoiler'd txt and no given clue as to what it's in regards to. Almost makes me want to highlight it for the fuck of it.

Angel's Egg

dat hair, dat scene composition, dat religous symbolism including
when the girls innocence was destroyed by the christ like figure.
i didn't spot any basset hounds though :(

If they get to Kumagawa, it doesn't matter who is adapting it. Could be the friggin pope for all I care (and we all know how much he sucks at animation) and it would still be the best thing ever.

They won't get to Kumagawa, so it's going to suck. Because lets be real the first part of the manga is ehh @ best. If New Gainax is smart they'll at least have the opening scene feature Unzen so that everyone who watches the first episode doesn't think it's a Sket Dance knockoff.

Really sucks we'll never see Kumagawa's arc animated :(

Ideally the first episode of Medaka Box will just cover like half of the first chapter before the screen tears like a page and Kumagawa hops out and he's like yeah isn't this shit boring let's just skip ahead and boom we speed up to the end of the
flask arc
and kumagawa is pimping out with his crew and the ED starts playing. Fuck ya.

Yeah I've been thinking along the same lines.
I certainly wouldn't be surprised if Mei's eye turns out to have some sort of powers. Kouchi disappearing at the end wouldn't surprise me either.
Ideally it won't turn out like this, because I wouldn't like that ending, and it would be pretty weak if the ending were that transparent when we are not even at the halfway point of the show.

Using that image is cheating. The film has other cool pieces of imagery y'know!

It actually makes me think of the ending of Final Fantasy X. If done properly, this sort of ending could be very good, just like FFX's ending was.
I cried at the end of FFX. Deal with it.

However, the whole show has been red herrings left and right, so it might turn out in a few more episodes that it was completely something else, again. Only one thing is certain here: Yukito Ayatsuji is going to keep us guessing until the end!

He'll use All Fiction to wipe out the boredom of the viewers.

I never thought that Kumagawa was a particularly good character - apart from a very few chapters here and there, he was just as bad as the rest of the awful cast of Medaka Box.

I really can't think of too many spring shows that interest me yet, but considering the winter season isn't even halfway done yet, there's plenty of time to find something worth watching.

Also, I'll only watch Mysterious Girlfriend X if
Chiaki voices the main girl. :)

Random thought: Mei is so HNNNNGH
weak-heart boy literally had a heart attack and died just by thinking about her for a moment!

Now that's what I call HNNNNNNGH!

Yumeria - 01

iUNxpwCk0inQD.jpg

Well, that was uneventful. Loser protagonist hasn't ever gotten a girlfriend until his sweet 16 changes everything apparently. What a special number. Indeed, because what's with sweet 16s and the monene? I almost had enough cash to fund the creation of Yumeria at they rate they were going with it. The only good thing so far about this is having Kikuko Inoue with that motherly voice we all recognize her for. Otherwise, the plot is pretty boring, and the harem setting almost does nothing for me. Although admittedly
Mizuki's joke about how Mikuri's dreams are an embodiment of his desires was a funny explanation for the plot.

Actually, I have more questions regarding the harem setting than anything about the plot. What's Mikuri and Mizuki's prior relationship before this encounter we're shown? Why was Mikuri even giving us a boring self-introduction about himself of being a virgin when he somehow managed to corralled this girl, Mizuki, by the time he was in high school? And she's an honor student apparently, so how did he succeed to do this? Is Mizuki even important or is Mone the most important girl character?
Probably Nanase
Or is Mizuki the harem requirement to make this a harem setting and nothing more? In any case, the heroines are dull.
