It's 60 on amazon right now (360)
I want the PS3 one.

@Moofers:
A Phillips head screw driver, and some parts.

Local used store has a Tatsunoku vs Capcom stick for $32. I've never considered buying one before, so I have no idea how hard those are to mod. People do mod those, right? What would I need?
Not sure if you're in the US or not, but the Brawl Sticks are $29.99 in store at GameStop, PS3 & 360. None near me which is too bad since I'd like a PS3 stick too!I want the PS3 one.

Ever heard of hyperbole? But seriously, in the US, you're lucky to find a couple of old Marvel 2 machines with half-functioning controls wedged between all the lightgun games and claw machines. And that's if you even still have a local arcade. If you want a place where the "arcade scene" hangs on by a lifeline, you gotta go to Japan or SE Asia.I can assure you this is not the case.

Does anyone have any good pictures of the Dark Blue Sanwa buttons? I'm thinking of using them in the mod I'm doing on my TE, but the colors look soooo different from picture to picture. I don't want purple.
I'm not sure how much a help a picture would be, as you said they vary wildly. This is due to differences in lighting, camera sensors, and monitor settings. Be aware in person, they're indigo.
The PS3 and 360 Brawl sticks are only $30 now at Gamestop, and the Wii TvC stick is supposed to be $20. I picked up the last PS3 stick at a store near me.
I know I'd need a screwdriver and parts, thanks guys. This ain't my first rodeo. What I meant was that I'd never modded a Wii stick before, so I have no idea if there's like some specific boards you'd need for those. I've only used ChimpSMD before and am familiar with TEasy and Kitty, but those are all for TE's that are 360 to PS3.

That's a great price! But then I'd have to forever live with the shame of being seen walking into a Gamestop, AND walking out with something that has wrestlers plastered all over it. I don't know if I'm up to that.

So how insane is arcade stick GAF?
Or, more specifically, would anyone be interested in a "unibody" (milled from a single piece of aluminum) panel/box?
I got the idea recently that this would be pretty awesome, but the cost if you only order a single one is just too much even as an enthusiast. (288 USD without shipping for my current design) It goes down relatively quickly with volume though.
Big sticks are good! As are small sticks. Who carries around a VLX, Twinstick or that big Saturn dual thingy? We've already got like a hundred medium sticks to choose from.
For the new page:
Ok guys and gals, here is the competition:
Prize:
One Street Fighter X Tekken V.S. stick for either 360 or PS3, your choice. Whenever it ships.

OR
Namco Store Black PS3 TE stick (if it is still available after 15 February, 2012; but I'll probably order one in the coming week if it looks like we are getting entries...so if the winner opts for it they can take it, otherwise it will just go into my collection)

---> Choice of stick is negotiable, say, if you wanted a qanba or eightarc or even the cheaper Fightstick Pro Black version instead but I'd rather keep it Mad Catz since MarkMan started this thread. Just try to keep it $200-ish.
Who can enter?
Any GAF member from any country. I currently live in the middle east but depending on the winner's location it will either ship directly from the US manufacturer/US amazon/US Club Namco Store or I'll have the stick sent to my CA address then have it forwarded to your address...in other words, it might take a few extra days to arrive if you live outside the US.
How to enter:
First, you will need some type of arcade stick and some type of camera/phone camera. Be creative and photograph the stick (or sticks) in some type of creative location, juxtaposition, etc. Try to surprise. Photography skills are not really important, creativity is! Feel free to manipulate the image however you feel...JUST DON'T USE PHOTOSHOP TO BREAK CONTIGUOUS SPACE...stick(s) must be in a physical environment. Take the stick apart, use a candy cab...anything you want so long as a stick is in the photo. Indoors, outdoors, etc.
PM me your photo by the end of February 15, 2012 and I'll collect them all, resize them if I can figure it out, and then show them in this thread, unmarked from who they came from. Not sure how we will pick the winner, maybe collectively, maybe MarkMan will want to pick the best one...I'll let you know around the 15th through the 20th when I post all the entrants.
One entry per username!
(My job takes me away from the internets for a week or two at a time but I'll be back by the 15th. If I'm not gone, I'll PM you back that I got your entry but, rest-assured, if I don't PM you back within that day I'm probably gone, and up some mountain with no communication and I'll PM you once I get back.)
Hopefully we get a number of entries, or I'll by sad ;-( You've got three weeks!
Good luck folks! And perhaps quote for the new page so we can get as many entries as possible, especially if I'm not here to do so myself.
Doin this for YesBoss! since he might not be around to do it.
I'd definitely be interested, although it really depends on what it looks like. D:
Oh yeah I didn't think about VC releases. What are the best 2d fighting ones?
Also the dead zone on the stick is HUGE. Requires real mashing
The ball top isn't unscrewable (at least without tools - the HRAP balltop came right off with a few twists) so no custom ball there.
The balltop is definitely removable, there'd be no way to install the lever if it wasn't. If you open up the bottom plate, the bottom of the shaft should have a slot for a flat-head screwdriver. Stick a screwdriver in, then twist the balltop off. If you were able to remove a balltop from any lever without doing this, someone screwed up when they installed it - they're not supposed to be removable without securing the shaft first.
Samurai Showdown II
Also love that stick cause of Tekkaman Blade My favorite character in TVC
Tekkaman is no joke - his hyper combos are freakin' insane.
Wow I play so much better now with this stick - and am only now realizing that Zero plays nearly identically to the UMVC3 Zero. I never liked playing Zero in Tatsunoko, now I rip through with him. Interesting what a little perspective and practice can afford.
Oh really? When I got my HRAP I just literally twisted left a few times and the white top came right off, and now my bubble top sits perfectly on it. Might explain why sometimes it comes loose..
Yeah, if it's not tightened properly that'll happen. Again, you'll have to break out the screwdriver to tighten it.

Usually because it has a multiconsole PCB in it - detachable cords for each system.Quick question - why are some stick modders putting RJ45(looking)-to-USB adapters into their sticks? !

Or they just like having a detachable cable.![]()
I can't believe no store is carrying the SCV Hori Stick. I have bad luck ordering sticks online. It looks like Amazon it is....![]()
Noob question here, why do PS3 and 360 fight sticks have different button positions? I think the 360 positioning seems better for me, but all my fighting games are on the PS3...
Hrm. I'm pretty sure that there shouldn't be a difference in layout on most PS3/360 sticks of the same model. Maybe there's a model you've gotten confused about?
Did the same thing right now. Use the Amazon Prime trial to get it here ASAP. Friday, can't wait.I just got mine in yesterday. Ordered it from Sethco off of Amazon:
Gorgeous stick.

I think the Real Arcade Pro V3/VX SA have different buttons as well...
Oh, I thought you meant that the buttons were placed differently, not which commands they are wired to.
Sorry! :<

Got a Hori T5 ps2 stick off ebay for $30 shipped.
Trying to decide whether I'll mod it with a korean stick, which I have never used, or hitbox style.
Has anyone ever used a Fanta? Any pros and cons I should be aware of?
Their retail partners include Toys R Us, Frys, Walmart and Target. Any luck finding Hori products at those brick and mortar locations?
Nice. The only thing I don't like about the stick is that the cable is shorter than the TE stick.
