Guys,

Have any of you heard of a subscription service similar to crunchyroll but for manga? Like where you pay monthly but have access to all sorts of manga you can read whenever you want? I preferably want a service that isn't limited to like 1 publisher.

Theres jmanga with tons of titles, but you only get like 1000 or so points a month which is used to buy a number of manga from various publishers, but a lot seems really niche.

Sket Dance - 177

Loving this current little arc, Katou nipping the evil teacher in the bud before he can do any real damage, now to see what Bossun and Tsubaki will do to handle the situation.

Just read on Mangastream's twitter feed that they're no longer doing Jump titles. Are there any legal alternatives within Europe and the UK, similar to what you guys are talking about above?

Fuck Viz and they're shitty translations. They're an insensate piece of trash that is meaningful to nobody. They're weary, stale, flat and unprofitable and i'd rather buy the damn manga's from japan and learn how to read Japanese than endorse their shit.

I don't get it. Other groups will continue to do it and no one will stop reading their efforts, as long as there's no official alternative.

Do we know about any individual people at Mangastream jumping ship? It seems like as long as the site's different they're in the clear.

I'm fairly sure that the company pays for the assistants, not the author themselves.
Going duo with an artist means splitting the paycheck in half, I'm assuming

With this move, Viz has effectively turned over the Big 3 to the for-profit aggregate sites.

They will not recover any revenue from this. A boneheaded decision.

There should be

They're paranoid and can't agree on anything, so basically everybody goes it alone. Viz is the most advanced simply because they are a US company leveraging manga products. Kodansha is doing something similar but doesn't really seem interested in investing anything.

Square-Enix is probably the best example of the japanese publisher mentality.
- volumes only
- Not actually downloadable. It's just a license to read.
- Can only read using a flash browser on their website. (Tablets, Phones SOL)
- Very few free preview chapters
- The most expensive of the download options
- Most of the work isn't even done by them
- Way behind; no guarantee of volumes coming out near print equivalents in NA
- Purchase requires registering with a 3rd party service (ClickandBuy)

Your post saddens me, a lot.

If Viz isn't immediately follow this with an announcement of Shonen Jump Alpha being extended to Europe, having a better selection and more timely releases then I'm going to
Continue buying their volumes, but with an angry look on my face.

Aside from high quality images mangastream has always been a rather shoddy translation site. Everyone used it, but because of their speed.

What do you think?
Well you're more into moe manga than action manga so I'm not even sure anymore. I'm more than willing to chew you out again for saying, "It's all the same shit." in reference to Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece, no matter how much garbage Naruto and Bleach are. ;) Manga is serious business, don't forget it you fuck.

With that being said this isn't that big of a deal, but will lead to outrage. Viz will never ever be able to stop scanlations of the Big Three.

Holy fuck. What the fuck. Fuck off, Viz.

I mean, I still think we'll get the big 3 on Wednesdays. But what about Hunter X Hunter & Hitman Reborn? MS had been releasing those two on late wednesdays lately as well. Now they'll just...fuck.

This is wack.
