I just put my Vita away so I don't want to turn it on again. But if I remember, you lose like all your settings. Network, any customized stuff like brightness, volume, date/time, etc.
Wallpapers, customized pages/bubbles would all be reset.
You would still have images, music, games, whatever on your memory card. You just have to put it all back up again and move the bubbles back to where you want them.

Thanks for the answer.

Well, thats a real letdown. I was planning to switch accounts in regular bases, but there are just so many restrictions (account lock, and now this reseting the wallpaper settings...)

I hope they update it in the future, but I doubt any signficant impovements will come..

can you set your own music to play in the background or just playstation's music?

Man, I hope this is true. Saints Row menu and customization music, here I come!

It was also playing during the video at certain points. It went from what sounded like standard Vita music to some recent hip-pop hook on loop. "Six foot, seven foot, eight foot, up"

From the YT comments:

Well, I mean, you can play your own music while you're doing anything (custom soundtracks), but I don't think you can set certain songs to play in particular apps like he was asking.

HSG disables network connection when you go into certain camera views.

Also, I didn't see any obvious way to change the background music in particular apps. You can just play the music app in the background, but that's something else.

Do you mean custom soundtracks for games? If so, that's been confirmed a while back.

yea i know that has been confirmed (seeing Gravity Daze being played while Illmatic was running is still a riot to me :) ).

Its just in the vid it was playing "6 foot seven foot" at certain intervals (since the traditional music kicked in during others)

I guess he was just playing it in the media player or the song was coming from somewhere else/editing of the video

That is seriously lame. Which other games does that. I'll avoid them all.

I know the following three disable your network. There could be more that I'm missing.

Uncharted:GA
Gravity Daze
Ninja Gaiden

I really hope everyone let's Sony know that we would rather have an option to disable our network for better battery life instead of it being forced on us.
Also, why even promote PSN if you won't even allow us to use it while we play games. Hopefully this "disable network" feature applies to launch games only and the devs learn from this.

that's not what i'm asking.

It's possible, but I don't get why it kept switching off? If he was just playing it in the background, why didn't it just keep on going? And why were there never any lyrics? Not to mention his comment...

Actually, I've seen a lot of that guys videos, which by the way I find really awesome with his cool commentary. The thing is that he plays beats and parts from songs on all his videos. I don't think the song is playing from the Vita. It's just something he does on his videos as Youtube background music.

This.

If it really is just a question of power draw then they should give us the option to be connected all the time.

Add another one to the hype. Just paid my Vita WiFi + 16Gb memcard + wipEout + Rayman + case and I will be importing those to Colombia. I won't be getting it until the first week of March but it was still cheaper than the bundle Sony's selling here (Vita WiFi, 4Gb memcard, case and Modnation Racer for $450 dollars, more or less). Surprisingly they will be releasing the Vita in some (most? all?) of latin american countries the same day as the US, but damn is it overpriced!

This will be the first console I'll buy day 1, but since I saw it on e3 last year i just wanted to have it!

That's immediately what I thought, but it was always synced to his swiping/unzipping and moving to a different menu/feature of the Vita. If you're right, and you probably are, then he must be very meticulous with his editing.

And as much I hope you can change your background music, the bass in his video did sound too good to be coming out of the Vita...

Disabling the network for games is a really stupid thing to make mandatory, especially if it's just a power saving feature. Make it an OPTION.

If most games end up having that then it completely defeats the purpose of cross game chat.

Stupid, Sony, stupid.

I'm pretty sure the developers are the ones who chose to disable network connection on their games. I don't think Sony forced them to.

Did anyone get both WipEout 2048 and Uncharted Golden Abyss retail? Did you notice that the blue of the VITA logo on there is actually like a light blue on WipEout, but a dark blue on Uncharted?
It's driving me nuts! Plus, the numbers at the bottom of the sticker has a black backround on WipEout, but a white backround on Uncharted! What what!?!?!

I'm holding out hope that it is easily patchable and therefore will be patched soon. It sucks because I like to see what friends are playing even if I am playing a single player game.

Wow, bootleggers were quick this time around.
Totally joking
There tend to be weird inconsistencies with launch stuff that's gone just months later. Usually anyway, you had stuff like a few games not having 1000 achievement points at 360 launch, or some features not used on the Wii that would've been if a game came later like CC support being absent in Metal Slug but being there for just about every other collection that came afterwards. I actually half expect ESRB ratings to pop up in the near future unless they really did relax there, I guess in built parental controls would make it more of a moot point.

Currently reading this. One thing that strikes me is how great of a move Sony made in having the foresight to make Uncharted: Golden Abyss a launch game before Uncharted 2 was even released. That's a ballsy move that paid off.

It definitely makes me anticipate a second Uncharted Vita game which will hopefully have the kind of difference Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 had.
