Some guys are pretty obviously gay, some not so much. Replicant was discussing nods and stares from dudes in public, but by that logic the cute security guard who walks by my store nods at me, smiles and hangs outside wants to jump my bone. Oh, wait...

If he checks out men, he's probably into men. You don't even have to stare. In a restaurant situation, for instance, you just notice if he perks his head up at the cute male waiter or cute female waitress. Or you could just go up and talk, no overt flirting necessary. Single people usually make it pretty clear if they're interested. And Grindr is location aware, so there's that, too.

And I can't think of anything but obvious situations where flirting with "the wrong person" would net you much more than a little embarrassment and maybe a bruised ego.

Tickets went hella fast, though I shouldn't be surprised. Initially tried to get 4, but had to settle for 2 (at $200/each). My friends are bummed, but I'll still get to go with the bf. Seats are halfway from the stage on the upper right side. I hope Madge looks our way once in a while (maybe if I flash my tits?).

I wonder if she'll add another Seattle show, since her next one in San Jose isn't until the 6th.

I'll keep you in mind if the bf bails, Mr. Bus. =)

This is generally why I stick to online dating and queer-specific spaces to find dates (it's not just bars, BTW- campuses often have stuff like gay gamers or athletes associations if you're at college, and there are often analogous organizations off-campus). Still, you can often find out a person's orientation well enough by asking mutual friend or acquaintances or friending them on facebook. I haven't had much success just hitting on guys you find attractive- gay guys aren't that common, unfortunately, and while I haven't had any terrible results like someonebeing violent, things can get awkward for a bit.

Aww man, Dir En Grey are the shit. I saw them live when they played the Kerrang tour that came to Ireland a couple of years ago. They were AMAZING. Seriously, one of the best gigs I've ever been to. They played a great selection from Uroboros, Kyo even did a song without using a mic (although I don't recall which song it was, I think it was Glass Skin), he is one talented guy. The scream at the end of Dozing Green has given me chills ever since seeing him do it live. Just... wow.

Here is the one and only picture that I took at the first Gackt gig I was at (they are REALLY strict about using cameras, but I sneaked one on my phone). He has a great body for an older gent. When I saw him last year he had a second vocalist, this America called John. He has an amazing body (Almost as nice as my boyfriends. :P) It was hilarious to me being surrounded by a 98% female audience shrieking like crazy every time he gyrated. Ah, good times. Every time I showed this picture to friends or co-workers they thought that the guitarists (Chachamaru and You) were girls, aww. They're just too glam!

YES you guys! Merveilles is such a great album. I also love S-Conscious and Le Ciel. Actually, Le Ciel is one of my go-to songs for when I want to chill out and feel like a badass at the same time. (Ace, Illuminati is a song on the album Merveilles by Malice Mizer.)

I have to admit though I've only really listened to the Gackt era Malice Mizer.

barrin87, have we seen you around here much before? Forgive me if you introduced yourself and I missed your post. J-rock loving Gaygaf represent! :P

I could see that. KOTOR wasn't full-on brosephery like Mass Effect (even moreso in 2 and likely 3), but it did get pretty Hollywoodish and started painting with broad strokes. Interestingly, KOTOR 2 takes a step back from this and into the neutral, despite being rushed.

plus there were fewer, less interesting side-quests, the gameplay removed a lot of choices from the player, and the loot system was wanged
 
Wow that sounds great Goth, I would've loved to see Gackt on stage.

Reminds me how much I love seeing Kaya on stage performing one of his songs so passionately, they're beautiful songs too.

You missed out too cause the second singer Klaha was amazing, truly a great voice. I suggest listening to Gardenia or Garnet.

In a casual bar situation, sometimes I'll head over and say hi and then excuse myself saying I have to make a call, or that my friends expect me back, or or pretend I'm not noticing the wave if I really get creep vibes.

If you're talking the Eagle/leather bar, what I do is meat their eyes and shake my head "no".
Not in some better than you way, just say nope, not interested. I made the distinction, because in that situation, it's a direct sex offer usually, or at least well on it's way to one.

Never feel obligated to socialize beyond what you're feeling at the time. It's not rude to not be available to everyone at the bar. =)

Good advice. When I eventually go back I'll keep that in mind. Till then my trips to ATL will probably involve hanging out with guys i've met in a non club setting. Dinner parties and all that jazz. Filter out the flakes so to speak.

And on top of that I get to see my local guy this Sunday. The wait. It kills.
