NFL Off-Season Thread: "Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?"

Why do we still have that vanilla thread title? The NHL one makes me smile all the time even though I don't have any idea what it's about specifically.

Because a shitty, undeserving 9-7 team which lost twice to Rex "The Human Turnover" Grossman won the SuperBowl and killed everything we loved about the NFL.

Yeah Squicken fumbled the thread title, Packers-style

I did what no one else would. I said I would paste in whatever someone wanted to come up with, and ask the mods to edit the title. We just needed an offseason thread, as all the talk in the old one had moved on from the SB.

RT @RookieDraft: WR Alshon Jeffery, is training at St Vincents here in Indy. Sources say he's weighing 249lbs + running a 4.88 Forty

lol

Twinkies are a helluva drug.

Oh man. I saw that pic quite awhile ago and thought I assumed he had trimmed down over the season.

Just to catch up on a lil bit older topics:

Current favorite Steeler: Troy, of course. Hines would be a close, close 2nd.
All time favorite Steeler: This is tough because growing up, as a fan from about age 5 and 6 in 78 and 79, it was dudes like Lambert and Swann that were the names behind why I became a fan. But I didn't watch Steeler and NFL games on a weekly basis back then. So my all time favorites come from the late 80s, Rod Woodson and Greg Lloyd. Just too close for me to pick one over the other.

All time favorite player in general: Probably a bit cliche, but Barry Sanders. There were few players from other teams that made me stop and take notice and in general cheer for because I generally just want to hate everyone who isn't a Steeler. But fuck all if that guy wasn't fun to watch. And thinking of it, Bo Jackson was too. Sucks his NFL career was cut short.

And to Bionic, can't find the post again to quote it, but disagree about McFadden. The writing was on the wall with him during the 2010 season, his play degraded a lot. There was good reason he was bumped down to nothing but special teams duty for '11. You are right though, they do need another quality corner. I hope they can find somebody in the draft or steal somebody in free agency, like they did with Clark, who they can work into a great a starter.

Not sure if this was posted, but Tommie Harris' wife died last night.

Ashley Harris, the wife of Chargers defensive tackle Tommie Harris, died Sunday night in an Oklahoma hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm or stroke, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Ashley Harris was 29.

Tommie Harris, who joined the Chargers in September and is due to be an unrestricted free agent, played seven seasons with the Chicago Bears.

Ashley Harris reportedly was rushed to the hospital on Friday.

The couple was married in January. They have two children.
As someone who just got married recently, I don't know what I would do if my wife passed away so soon. :( My heart goes out to the guy.

I realize that. Never claimed he was an "elite." Just responding to a Broncos fan, since we will sweep them next year, thanks in large part to Palmer.

Once we fortify our defense with DRAFT PICKS THIS YEAR the only thing getting swept under the rug is Palmer's career.

I got these new earbuds and they like snap in my ears or some shit.

Why can't anyone make a decent earbud? FAAAACK.

Might have to buy those visor things that go on the back of your head like Jordi or something.
