Who's Marina?
Who's Marina?
Marina and the Diamonds, a really good singer. In fact there's no song I don't like from her (my favourite is Hermit the Frog, though).Who's Marina?
Highly doubt it. NOOOOOOOOOoooOoo. Dude, I've listened to the Family Jewels 100's of times through and I've listened to every freaking demo from Electra Heart at least 100 times. So, err, noooo!Nooooope, I don't think so!
I think I might win in a contest of "Most Marina Plays"

YES. I love you! I think my faves are 'Oh No!' and 'Scab & Plaster'.Marina and the Diamonds, a really good singer. In fact there's no song I don't like from her (my favourite is Hermit the Frog, though).
Yeah, her first album didn't reach that many people. You will probably hear more about her this year with her second album imminent. Your friend? You may be surprised. Marina's diamonds are quite die-hard.I've heard of her, couldn't name any of her songs though (but then my lack of musical knowledge is embarrassing). One my friends is into her in a big way. Probably not as much as you two![]()

My boyfriend bought me a wrestling singlet for Vday.
My boyfriend bought me a wrestling singlet for Vday. I got a red one, and he got a blue one for himself.
Haha, that's cute! I wish my family would have gotten me chocolates! My day was pretty uneventful sans my Valentine's text. I went to work and everything was like every other day (because let's not kid ourselves, it's just like any another day!). When I got home at 8, we had dinner and then watched Mononoke with my hubby. Then off to bed after some naughty time!
Man, I really want to get the next 3DS, any news on when they're giving it a revision?
Oh, don't get me wrong, we love Miyazaki! We've watched all of them sans Arriety so far (well and hmm Laphuta and my Neighbours the Yamadas?) but I was referring to Mononoke, the anime, it's very good, should check it out! That still sounds like a pretty good day. You can't go wrong with a Miyazaki film!
Speaking of that, I still need to find someone to go see Arriety with this weekend.
My V Day was pretty uneventful and just a regular day. Had work as usual and played a little XIII-2 later on that night.

Haha, don't worry! Same deal happened to me. I first knew about this anime through an artist I follow both on DA and Tumblr. When I tried looking for information about the show, I stumbled through Miyazaki's movie all the time, so had to go through some search results! My bad! I just assumed you were talking about Princess Mononoke and with your avatar being from Totoro. I haven't heard of that show before so I will have to check it out.
Laputa was a really good movie. I haven't see My Neighbors the Yamadas either though so I don't know how that is.
Adidas. It fits like a glove and looks really nice. They are usually 50 or 60 bucks but he got them on sale for twenty something. Eh, you don't really need a reason to buy one. I just have fun wearing them. I feel really sexy in it. lolWhat brand is it? I've been interested in getting one (who knows why; just for me, I guess) but I don't know which ones are supposed to be good. N2N is the only name that seems to come up with any frequency.
It was the perfect gift for single's awareness day! ^_^Sexy!
I have a problem and I rather it didn't get back to skype. So As you guys know I didn't get a chance to talk to my bf lately. And when I did he was rather distant. I finally cornered him last night and basically told him just to tell me.
It started off with him just saying he was staring into the distance and not even wanting to voice chat. I ask what's wrong and he says it is really hard for him to say. Much prodding later and he says he is pretending to be happy when he talks to me.
He then says he doesn't know why when he thinks or me,talks to me that he suddenly feels unhappy. Now he's terrible at expressing what he feels but I think I have a clue now what he was trying to do,and that was break up with me.
I dont want to cause him unhappiness and I worry the distance is starting to take it's toll on him. I'll prod more out of him but when you flat out say talking to your bf makes you unhappy then I get the message. The last thing he said to me before he had to leave was.
I'm sorry, I just can't keep pretending that everything's fine anymore.
This popped up on my FB timeline. I liked it and it might have helped all of the single wretched souls on Vday so, a little lttp:
How to be alone
I'm sorry Del. Hope you guys can figure it out and that whatever the outcome is, you'll be OK. You'll know about it firsthand, long distance relationships are hard.
Sometimes it's good to fight for something you truly love or believe in, but sometimes it's also good to recognize when something is not going anywhere and it's time to end it and move on.

I truely love him but I cant deny that I have been unhappy as well.

Wow, I am so sorry to hear. =( Did he give any reason as to why he has been unhappy?
You've said that you're planning to finally meet IRL at the beginning of the next year; maybe you should advance it? Being in a long-distance relationship for few years now without seeing each other IRL (and knowing that you won't meet each other face-to-face for the next few months) must be really hard; it's one thing to talk to someone from time to time on skype or text, and it's completely different to simply hang out.
I'm been quite sceptic about your long-distance relationship with him, but I didn't wish you that :/
Well, I guess you should try to ask him what went wrong. Don't be too invasive either. It may be better to let him come to you express his exact feelings (though, really, telling his bf that he's pretending to be happy with him... That's rough).
... But really, after 3 years without actually meeting eachother... I can't understand how you could both see this as a relationship. Maybe I'm cynical, but I can't see how this kind of relationship could ever work without even actually meeting the guy in person, for real, and not behind a computer screen.
Anyway : I guess you should be honest with eachother, and decide together if you should continue or stop this relationship (though he seems to want to end it - and it may be better for both of you, allowing you to move on instead or remaining stuck in a relationship without tomorrow).
I don't understand the situation completely here. Imagine you go see him as planned, how long is that for? After the visit, are you going home again to continue the relationship like you do today and not see each other again till next time whenever that may be?Yeah I imagine it's starting to take it's toll on him. I cant advance it though I simply doint have the money though.

I don't mean to sound harsh, just trying to understand your relationship, it doesn't seem fair to any of you to have this very long-distance relatonship, and you seem to to put a lot more effort into it than him, why isn't he coming to visit you...?
Ah, I see. That kind of relationship are really hard, you spent so much time apart and when you finally meet, that time is so concentrated on being together all that time, it's hard to find the feeling of normality.Money for him and he is still going to school. And yeah the plan was to go visit for a month, come back then once he had enough he would come here. I admit It just seems like a fantasy now.
You always came across pretty laid back about your relationship Del, I guess having spent so long before meeting together reflects that too, maybe your bf just was unhappy with waiting so long?
Seems like you spend a lot of time on TC too, was he fine with that? I'm not sure I'd be, if I was in that position, it's time you could have been investing in your relationship and making the most of what you have - maybe he feels stuck in that he's committed to a relationship with you but it wasn't moving forward how he hoped
Just some thoughts I'm throwing out there
He never had a problem with TC. Infact he was there with me a lot and I would drop talking on TC in no time flat to talk to him. Maybe it just was to much time for him to wait...which makes me wonder why he even said he wanted to wait for me. I'm still waiting to see what he says and then we will decide. I dont want to hold him in a relationship if the wait is killing him.
I think, when all you have is time, it's easy to become disheartened and feel pessimistic about the future, being in a relationship which has so many things working against you can really weigh you down, and sometimes you might think it's easier just to cut away from that completely - especially if you feel it's going nowhere
If I were in your position, I'd re-evaluate the whole thing, and if I was certain this was what I, and he, wanted, then we'd work together to make it happen, you need a proper routine - something to bring a bit of normality to it, going weeks at a time without speaking is not going to work for a relationship like yours
I've brought this up with him in the past. Just having even a little time to talk a day would be fine. I don't demand his time either cause I know he has his friends as well but It doesn't make it any better when we do talk and he just never has much to say anymore. And I agree going without talking for weeks at a time is never good.

Have a nice night ladies and gentlemen. I know i will
Guess I should re-introduce myself to GayGAF (think I did this a year ago and stayed on lurker status). I'm 26 (gah) in the Air Force and I've been in Japan for FOUR years now, I'm making the big move to Korea for a year and then it's Europe for probably four years after that!! Hopefully I'll have better luck there guy-wise. Japan hasn't been great in that regard. Any other Millitary GayGAF folk out there? I swear I'm the only one in the AF sometimes. :lol
General Question:
What's the proper etiquette when you're in a bar and a guy buys you a drink, BUT have no interest?
I was in a bar with a few friends. I ordered another drink and the bartender tells me "this one is on that guy". I nod that direction and left it at that. But at the end of the night-- the guy comes over and asks me if i got the drink-- and at that point I felt really bad when he started chatting me up. I thought by accepting and nodding that I appreciated the gesture-- but by not personally going over-- I had no interest.
It works more or less the other way round in Spain. First you approach the guy and introduce yourself, then after some chit-chat you offer yourself to go get a couple of drinks. Way more convenient IMHO.Last time that happened to me I just took the drink over to the guy and said thanks but no thanks (as nicely as a situation like that would allow).
He seemed fine about it and was all like "well, I tried!".
Air Force, here. I'm stationed at Eglin AFB.Any other Millitary GayGAF folk out there? I swear I'm the only one in the AF sometimes. :lol
Well, the thing is... a lot of people apply, and there's only so many slots available for certain jobs. What is it that you want to do?I've been close to join the Air Force twice..but I guess they don't want me, since all I get is "We'll call you" when I called after filling out the preliminary info and stuff. I saw it as a sign of sorts. XD
Is it normal for a guy to want to chat with you over half the day nearly every day if he's not interested in you?
He's not gay so I can only assume he's not interested in me. His behavior and the way we talk to each other says otherwise though. Our friends have told us we should fuck already it's that bad.Where did you get the impression that he's not interested in you? Everything you've described seems to hint otherwise. I guess it could be you're just a great person to chat with...but I certainly would not spend so much time with someone if I'm not remotely attracted to him.

I'm just trying to figure out if I'm dealing with someone who is deep in the closet, or is this wishful thinking on my part. I was kind of blind to things till he started calling me at work. Now I am not sure what to think.
Well I am quite the cool dude. I guess this could be the reason after all?And y'all have never met in person? Awww, how sweet. He's probably just hanging on to you like a puppy because he thinks you're "cool."until it gets annoying or confusing like it is right now
^^^ That GIF makes me miss Sailor Moon. A remake would be pretty awesome (Team Saturn BTW).

Rabid churchmouse. Under sunny skies he has eyes only for Jesus, but in the dark...He's not gay so I can only assume he's not interested in me. His behavior and the way we talk to each other says otherwise though. Our friends have told us we should fuck already it's that bad.
