It's more than likely that those are love bites, as the male sharks tend to bite the females during mating. So, you could say that particular broad has seen a fair share of action.
Ashes and Snow was one of the most powerful art exhibits I've ever had the pleasure to witness. It's incredibly humbling and powerful stuff.

The Marktkirche in Hanover, Germany. The pentagram used to be a symbol of salvation (the five marks of crucifixion) in medieval Europe. Might be just a coincidence as well though.

The pentagram standing on two points, has sometimes been referred to as a symbol of man, and sometimes even a symbol of christ. I think the latter has more to do with giving old pagan traditions new meanings under the christian rule. The pentagram standing on one point is customarily aligned with more sinister traditions, depending on the culture and time.
