Yes she comes across as racist but she hasn't learned the dark art of how to make subtle racist comments.

If Mayweather and Whitlock can get away scott free, so should she. After an apology or 2 of course.

Mayweather's comment while unnecessary and ridiculous was no advocating genocide. Try harder. Note I really dislike Mayweather but I'm just being real here.

The one thing that would make a hack seem remotely plausible is that this coincides very closely with the launch of SNSD's first US album and the only reason this girl's tweets seem to be generating any buzz whatsoever is her connection there. I guess it's possible the real target is the group and she's just a means to an end?

Or she could be crazy.

yeah i don't think saying he is getting hype because he is asian is comparable to calling for genocide

I don't think either of those guys advocated about genocide...

is it just me or has there always been a lot of racial tension between blacks and asians in america?

She's Asian-American. Also, do you think people not in English speaking countries can't write proper English?
I had no idea any of the SNSD members were Asian-American. Based on that, I didn't think that was actually her account. There are definitely people in non-English speaking countries who can write fluently in English, but there's a difference in the use of language between a native speaker and someone who studied it as a second language.

Man, what year are you from?
I meant Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese Asians. I thought "Oriental" covered those three demographics, but if I'm wrong and/or insensitive to use that term, I do apologize. I really didn't know.

I can say with confidence, however, that the views expressed in those tweets are really not that uncommon among Koreans and Chinese people. Their experiences with black people are limited to what the global media feeds them, and in the case of Korean-Americans, it's been stated already in this thread that their experiences with black people form the basis of their dislike for that demographic.

It appears from her blog though that Jenny Hyun was born in America, so not really any excuses for her, even if her remarks weren't absolutely batshit insane.

Sometimes an insular community transplanted elsewhere can become much more conservative then where they came from. Any sort of progressive paradigm shifts in the homeland can be missed. I know this was definitely the case in my Korean community back in Ohio.

From what my Korean friend has told me, white people in Korea are fairly rare -- much more so than somewhere like Japan -- and any other non-Asians are pretty much non-existent. She's advised other friends in the past that it's much easier to get work there as an English teacher if you're white because unfortunately a lot of Koreans would actually assume that a black person wouldn't be a native English speaker because they associate "American" with "white."

Obviously this is a form of racism, but it is born from actual ignorance and being such a closed off society for such a long time, though that's obviously changing as Korea's place in the global economy grows. The issues with the Japanese and Chinese are because of years being occupied and dominated by these other empires. Overall that's generally less about actual hatred and more of a competitive and sometimes grumbling resentment not all that unlike how some Americans can be nutty about the British or French but most of us just want to win at sporting events.

so that goes in line with my train of thought. although finding out that this woman is american is a bit distressing.

If you would have read the thread you would have notice she isn't a member of the group. She wrote one song for them.

Can the SNSD people stop trying to defend this? Just because you get a boner from a Korean woman doesn't make racism okay

Have you read any of the 'poetry' on her site?

lol...turrible...

I'm walking to the bathroom
of my house but it's not mine,
I get naked for a shower
then I see the FBI.
They tell me that they need me
for a top priority case,
I follow them out the door,
and then I'm at grandma's place.
She offers me her homemade cookies,
so I take a bite,
and when I look back up
I see Mike Tyson wants a fight.
He knocks me out with just one punch
and that's when I wake up.

.........................................................................Haven't seen a single person defend this.

And just because you get a boner from ponies doesn't make watching that awful show okay.

Ah , seems harmless to me. I don't agree with the guy all the time but it is true.

"Barack Obama is a good president but all the hype is because he’s Black. White presidents do what he does every night and don’t get the same praise."

I'm not sure I'd call it outright racist but it's a pretty dumb thing to say.

When a moron that I dont know or care about says stupid shit, I ignore it. Why cant others.

I bet a lot more people know who this dumb bitch is now though.
I still couldnt care less

The irony in this post is thick as syrup.
