In a single game, from 1946-47 to 2011-12, in the regular season, requiring Field Goals <= 1 and Field Goal Attempts >= 11 and Turnovers >= 8, sorted by descending Points.
in other words, the criteria is:
field goals made has to be less than/or equal to 1
field goal attempts has to be more/or equal to 11
turnovers more than/or equal to 8

and the result came to:
Sorry, there are no results that match your search.

in other words, lin set a new record in that category.

Sooo... it wasn't just a bad game? It was one of the worst games of all time?

oh wow

I guess I forgot to say that this was a team game and that everyone had to "buy-in" to D'Antoni's system. I watch basketball on and off. I'm not a basketball expert. It's true that I've watched more basketball because of Lin. But to go off to say that Lin needs to be traded and that he is overrated is stupid. He did not start until late of the first half of the season. He had a bad game and it is another learning experience for him- he will better from it or not. Save your judgment until after the season.

He's being over-hyped because of his story and the $ that is being generated. His story is such a positive influence to almost everyone. Now when I say almost everyone, the people left out are the vast amount of dickweeds like you that like to watch the world burn.

Do society and future generations a favor and stick your dick in an electrical outlet so your balls can implode.

I don't get the purpose of clicking into a Jeremy Lin titled thread to hate and troll on Jeremy Lin. I don't think anyone was serious about him being a HOFer, but were excited for something new.

What's the reason for this trolling?
- Is it obnoxious Knicks fans and this is revenge from years prior?
- Is this fatigue from media hype?
- Also, I'm just curious as hell who all these haters support, because its really easy to troll and not support anyone.

I seriously don't get it.

Seriously, its cool if you guys hurl shitballs at each other in the NBA thread, but going into the Jeremy Lin thread just to troll the shit out of his supporters just reeks of loserdom.

So humble.

But please, some people actually knew what they were talking about with Lin. As good as he is, anyone who knows basketball can tell you that the entire Knicks offense reverted the moment Carmelo stepped on the floor with him. Not only that, the Knicks did the guy no favors by milking him dry every hour of the day and then pairing him with one the league's biggest head cases in JR. It wasn't a matter of if, it was when. And no manufactured line of "most points and assists by a 2nd year guy before the all-star break against Derek Fisher and Jose Calderon in a Pringles offense" will change him from who he was.

I actually like Lin. Anyone could tell you that I've liked him since the tourney. But when people start jocking him over guys who spent years overcoming obstacles like Lowry did (hell, he wasn't even seen as the best player on his own team in college) then shots will be fired.

I don't really care other than some general support for a fellow goofy looking asian, but not being able to take criticism about someone you fanboy for comes across as, well, as being a bit of a bitch. Bad games happen and haters gonna hate, dunno why some people are getting so sensitive about it.

He's far from perfect. There should be some criticism in here to go along with the irrational optimism.

Yeah,...nice try. Topics covered in this thread include debating if he was smart enough to merit Harvard, if 3.1 GPA in Econ is worthy, and more recently saying Lin has less good games vs number of rings Kobe has, etc. That really means nothing, and provides nothing of substance.

Also whats the purpose of doing it in the Jeremy Lin thread? Just keep it in the NBA thread, where we all wallow in our own shit. (I post in it and read the thread too.)

If you're trolling just admit it, its even more spineless when people try and say its not trolling.

Lets talk about only good things like puppies, candy, and rainbows! :3

Alright, let's discuss then how Lin is going to regress to the mean and that this is only the beginning. He has sloppy handles and doesn't handle pressure well. If he wasn't in the NY media market, its doubtful that he would be getting this much national positivity.

Stay classy.

If you read my posts, I've never thought he'd ever be an All Star or anything, but thought its cool that he's a legit starter. Its a shame that the media hyped everything, and blew things out of proportion. Sucks for other lifers out there who go through the same thing, I know. But I like the underdog. (I actually pulled for Devean George because it would have been cool to see someone from a DIII school dominate.)

If anyone really was pounding their chests saying Lin was HOF material or that the Knicks were heading to the championship, then fine, all bets are off. You guys can rub it in, and I don't care.

But it just looks like everyone is laughing at the rattled 2nd year player who got stomped out by the prohibitive favorite to win the championship. It just looks so dumb, especially doing it in the Jeremy Lin Thread. THere's already the NBA thread for that anyways.

What's wrong with pointing those issues out? Are we supposed to just ignore it?

The facts show that the basketball coaches specifically recruited him, and there is a system in the Ivy League for these types of athletic recruitment:
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-02-11/news/31051048_1_jeremy-lin-knicks-landry-fields/2
One afternoon in mid July 2005, Bill Holden, then a top assistant at Harvard, surveyed several basketball courts inside a Las Vegas gymnasium. Multiple AAU events were ongoing as prospects competed for recruiters’ attention. Holden, having matched players capable of completing an Ivy League curriculum with athletic competitiveness, observed Lin. At 6-foot-3, Lin fit the physical profile Holden sought. His corresponding 4.2 GPA helped, but his performance in the game hurt. It was a non-competitive, low-energy contest and Lin failed to distinguish himself from the pack. Holden, dressed in Crimson gear, informed Peter Diepenbrock, Lin’s high school coach, that his reactions were twofold: yes, Holden had seen him play; no, Harvard would not continue to recruit him. “I think he’s a Division III player,” Holden said. Lin’s life path changed soon after. Holden happened to be watching a game on a court adjacent to the one where Lin’s team was playing later that week. Once the game got out of hand, he turned his attention toward Lin, who was playing a better opponent and exhibited a striking aggressiveness. Lin, Holden thought, showed the instincts of a killer. “I made him a top priority,” Holden says. “I would do anything to land him.”

3.1 at Harvard is also not something to brag about when grade inflation at Harvard gives everyone an average of an A- GPA:
http://www.thecrimson.com/article/2006/2/13/c-minus-prof-to-give-more-as/
In Mansfield’s “true and serious” grading system, 5 percent of students will receive A’s, and 15 percent will receive A-minuses. But Mansfield won’t share those marks with anyone other than his teaching fellows and students.

By contrast, Mansfield’s “ironic” grade—the only one that will appear on official transcripts—will follow average grade distribution in the College, with about a quarter of students receiving A’s and another quarter receiving A-minuses.

There's no need to over-hype and overstate all his accomplishments. It's okay to think realistically.

Knicks fans know that the Knicks are kind of my second team after living in NY. I also show videos of his highlights to fans here in China, but I don't need to make every overrate every single aspect of him.

Oh, he's quite dead on the inside. Went from pursuing a career as a sports agent to being a gym teacher.

My sister's trying to be a sports agent...i'm afraid that's where she'll end up, like those are the only two options for someone on that career path.

3.1 GPA is unrelated to anything, just more trolling. I'm a huge Kemba Walker fan, and apparently he never finished reading a book in his whole life. But its not related to basketball.
I don't mind the analysis saying its the worst game ever, because if the numbers show it, then yeah, he definitely stunk up the joint.

Best GAF is gonna hate. Don't take it personal Lin fans. Most of NBA-age want Lin to be on their team. I'd take him over Felton any day of the week.

The Harvard and grades stuff just seems petty to me, also the issue of grade inflation is a lot more complicated than "lol Harvard hands out A's".

Well, I guess my ulterior issue, is that I'm a big NBA fan, but NBA GAF already has this jackass stereotype, which is unfortunate but sometimes true.

If we're going to say we're the scholars about this, then lets act it. Be objective and leave the petty stuff out.
