They didn't really try it. They basically wanted him to have no control over the roster, and Heyman wanted to use some of the resources instead of on 50 plus year old washed up stars, to build a TNA developmental territory. Basically, Dixie is too star struck with old washed up guys to let someone get rid of them.

typical dixie

I guess the fall of TNA came when Sting arrived...

-- Online reports have indicated that there are a number of disgruntled wrestlers within the WWE locker room upset with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stealing the spotlight at WrestleMania XXVIII. Former WWE star Lance Storm weighed in on the matter on Twitter and said the complainers need to "shut up."

When asked about Johnson assuming the WrestleMania main event spot over a full-time worker, he wrote, "I got bumped off Mania 19 for Miller Light Girls. Anyone bitching about getting bumped down the card 4 THE ROCK needs to Shut up."
.

So they shouldn't be pissed for being bumped for dumb shit because he was bumped for dumb shit? How about the talent stops getting bumped from wrestlemania for dumb shit. Building angles a year in advance is dangerous to boot, because you really have to play it safe with the ones in play.

some people in the WWE are annoyed about the rock main eventing 2 PPV's in a year.

But they dont mind Cena/HHH hogging the spot light every week and never putting anyone but themselves over.

I guess i see where the reports of the WWE roster being a bunch of unmotivated bitches comes from.

Dont be blaming the Rock for hogging the spotlight if you havent shown the company any reason to care about you.

Plus I would rather be bumped off the card because of the Rock then Bumped because they need a 20 minute Kid Rock concert in the middle of the show.

I think they shouldn't be pissed because they can't find anyone to give a shit about them in the first place. Not The Rock's fault that a bunch of boring ass cookie cutter generic WWE stars can't get over.

Im curious outside of a web show what exactly they are supposed to do? What makes alex riley, mason ryan, and ezekiel jackson more pushable faces as compared to a johnny curtis?

All the wrestlers start off cookie cutter and generic though. They don't really have that much control over what they do. That's the writers job. The rock didn't start off as the rock, just as john cena didn't start off as the beast we now know him as. Some wrestlers don't have the it factor, but quite a few that do have been passed over

Random tidbits:

– John Cena expects The Rock to bury him this Monday on Raw.

He wrote on Twitter, “Flying to LA for fri night at staples. Then back to Daytona for green flag @ 500. Then off to Portland just in time for Dwayne to bury me… Sounds like a fun few days. Giddy up.”

This is gonna be an incredible Raw.

And if you needed any further proof of how much of a fraud Meltzer is:

Online reports suggest Clay was removed from television due to Vince McMahon’s unhappiness with his ring work. Regarding said reports, WWE.com writer Kevin Eck tweeted, “I have not seen the real reason reported anywhere.”

The guy just completely fabricates shit based on observations from viewing the shows. Any one of us could do the same.

Just be better. Ziggler was a random cookie cutter guy who has gotten so damn good in the ring in recent months he has to wrestle every PPV now because he makes the people he wrestles look good.

And I guess dont always bet on Creative.

Punk and Bryan had there down time but they got through it.

I am sure if Kaval stayed and continued having good matches he would be in a better spot then he was right now.

The Rock debuted by winning a Survivor Series match in his first appearance.
John Cena debuted by almost getting a win over a red hot heel Olympic Gold medalist.

You're kidding yourself if you don't think it's current creative holding these wrestlers back.
EDIT: Not disagreeing with the post I quoted, just continuing it

But you see, ziggler got many chances to show off his skills, to fill out his character. He was boring as fuck too when he initially became and he also started off as cookie cutter as hell with his spirit squad appearance. Ziggler wasn't held back as hard as some of the current jobber levels. He didn't have the super push that sheamus and wade barrett had, but he was far from scraping the bottom like yoshi tatsu or tyson kidd.

What was the real reason then?! I miss the Funkasaurous...

Thank God you're alone. He was a serious waste of airtime, and booked horribly. How much fun is it to watch a 90 second squash match twice a week play out exactly the same? At least with HHH squashes or burials, they're spread out across a number of months.

That's not a problem with the funkasaurus, it's a problem with WWE not knowing how to book the Funkasaurus. The squash matches were fine for a week or two, to establish Clay's personality, but they never actually moved to the next step of having him in real matches. There's any number of things the could have done next, but they just... didn't.

Heck, at the very least he could have taken one of the announcers' spots in the Rumble.

That might be true but I'm pretty confident that Meltzer doesn't wash his balls over his sink after going four days without showering. So he has you beat there.

Damn beans. That was ice cold

Hey, I'm just reiterating the words typed right on Heavy's greasy keyboard and posted in this very thread. If Heavy's personal hygiene was a sensitive subject for him, then I don't think he would have disclosed all the repulsive details for us to read.
