gunbo all I want to know is why you don't like One Piece, is all. I'm genuinely serious here cause anyone with the right frame of mindset realizes how different of a league it is from Naruto and Bleach. No, I'm not trolling here, I just do not understand how it's even remotely comparable here. It isn't "all the same shit" material in the very least, and makes me highly doubt you've even touched any of these series. This is why I can't take your opinion on them seriously whatsoever.

Call me a "One Piece fanatic" all you want and pretend One Piece is my favorite manga, but I genuinely never seen a legitimate "I hate One Piece" argument that I could at least have me say, "Well okay, I understand that, that makes sense!" kind of agree to disagree moment you have with people. There's just nothing to really legitimate hate about it cause of how well taken care of the entire manga is in comparison to other manga, while anything to like about it is just personal preference. Now if One Piece starts turning into a manga where everyone pulls out a duel disk and plays cards fighting a villain who cuts his wrists instead of be threatening, then sure, that's when One Piece truly becomes shit and you really can't make any argument to justify something like that.

I think I said once that One Piece has no legitimate problems and isn't really susceptible to criticism, which Beam always quotes me on to prove I'm a rabid One Piece fanboy; and while my choice of words was bad, what I meant was something more along the lines of that there isn't quite those "moments" that fans unanimously agree are terrible and are worth critique in the series similar to stuff in Bleach and Naruto where most fans agree Sasuke is shit, Aizen is shit, Naruto is shit, etc. etc. Fan reactions shows more about the quality of the manga more than my opinion ever could, and when One Piece is consistently making readers happy to read it while Naruto and Bleach are making readers pissed off everytime they read it, One Piece is clearly doing something right here.

Edit: I edited this several times so I apologize for that, but whatever. I hate having to implement Angry Grimace style edits.

Anybody can dislike a series for the simplest thing , nothing should be wrong with that most of the time.
Well I've seen people justify their dislike of OP with a completely acceptable and understandable stance that even I could easily have...just not on here, which is unfortunate cause the anti-OP crowd here is very strong.

Edit: Just to post some examples a close friend of mine dropped One Piece cause he didn't care for all the drama the Marineford arc brought to the series and wanted more adventure shonen instead of fighting shonen and generally got bored of that entire arc. I also agree with a lot of things like how Oda has treated the Strawhats in terms of lack of character development, and how sexualized he's made Nami over the years. Points like that are understandable, are based off factual assessments, and make sense. Points like, "One Piece is same formula." or "One Piece has bad art." is not.

I gave up on Fairy Tale cause I though Natsu was a really boring MC. The setting was cool though. I liked the bar that had all the job postings. Reminded me of games like FFXII when you picked up jobs for hunts. The magic factions or whatever they were called also had potential. But I just couldn't stand the characters, didn't find the comedy funny, and the battles were just boring. Based on reactions, it seems it was probably a good drop.

So I just finished Part 1 of TTGL and I've gotta say...this is really similar to Mistborn. Like super similar. Am I not the only one who noticed that? Lord Genome=Lord Ruler, Kamina=Kelshar, etc.

Lucy or Erza?

In a way yes. I think there is a trope for that when the bad guys you defeat end up being a good guy after all.

One main difference is that part 2 and 3 of Mistborn sucked balls while second part of TTGL is good

Damn breh. Your reactions/reasons for stopping are EXACTLY the same as mine. I got through the first arc, but just found the characters so...unmotivating. I love MC's in a manga, and Natsu wasn't cutting it. Fan Service is also more annoying than it is good. And while I found that the lore had plenty of potential, the more personal things bored me.

Evolved beings.

WHAAAT? Part 2 was meh, but, part 3 was godly.

Anyways...Part 2 of TTGL is looking real similar.

But Naruto, Sasuke, and Aizen had fans, I dont think I ever recall any of the three having unanimous hate. If Kishimoto is even spending so much time on developing Sasuke and hiding Sasuke from the manga for essentially a year plus, Kubo making Aizen have cool forms and cool colleagues, then isnt it true that Naruto and Bleach are clearly doing something right?

If fan reactions show more on quality then single opinions, then I guess, all are considered quality series...

And I dont recall seeing fishman island arc or whitebeard and ace's turn out "consistently making readers happy," people were definitely not happy then.

Hajimete no Aku (ch134-136)

-3 romance chapters in a row? Huh.

HnA is still a fun read. I think I am completely alone following this manga but it is still damn refreshing IMO. It doesn't go stale romcom like Nisekoi, way too battle like RtV2, or stall forever like KnIM. It goes from an arc about a massive battle on an island to one about an evil organization get-together to one about the school festival. The comedy isn't Gintama level but I still enjoy all the antics. This is definitely a very under-rated manga despite it not being great...if that makes sense.

ch's in 3 (studying, confession, romance)

Lucy or Erza?
Erza. ;)

@Fairy Tail - I got through all of Rave. I feel obligated to do so for Fairy Tail. Just ... eventually.

You're late. I think only Scy and I have been reading this. Biggest drama is the "true form" though... Could be devastating. Fights have not been that great though. :(

See, I can't tell yet if the true form will backpedal and just be typical "OMGZ" girl or if they'll actually follow through with it. And, yeah, the fights haven't been anything special but I don't think it's been trying too hard on those yet. Hopefully that's the case, anyway.

And for more out of shitty slice of life/romcom/shoujo stuff:

Gan Kon 12 - Ice Angel is kind of adorable. I hope she goes yandere.

Maga Tsuki 12 - dat fanservice color bathing scene. I really hope childhood friend wins. Even more than a harem route. Yeah, I'm going there.

Umi no Misaki 92 - I literally forgot everything that happened so far besides the fact everyone needs (wants?) to bone the main dude. Or something. Whatever, I just hate myself so I keep reading.

Skip Beat 185 - Seriously, I don't quite understand how Kyoko's looks change that much from role to role. It's ... bizarre. Anyway, can we just resolve Ren's past already? It's gone on long enough. I'm still not sure what exactly he did.
Caused the death of a friend and hates the fact he's half-Japanese? Or something? Seems weird that it's that scarring
.

I see this thread still moving at hyper speed.

@ Fairy Tail: at first it seemed like a One piece clone then it turned into something else that seemed interesting. Now its just MC/friendship ass pulls non stop and a shitty time skip so whenever its done or really picks up i may check it out again.

@ ignoring: I personally think the ignore feature is a waste of time and you should be able to your own moderation to "ignore" a user rather than some forum doing it for you. Plus its funny seeing what a user might say next since at that point you won't take the post seriously anyways.

@ Aizen hate: Aizen was pretty boss mainly due to him being pretty broken and trolling everyone (including the fan-base itself) constantly until his defeat (hell, him still being alive and the possibility of him having some involvement in the new stuff is a troll in itself). But on the other hand people may not like for those reasons also.

Hentai recommendation of the week:

Miss Wotako by Ash Yokoshima

The translation is somewhat shoddy but it gets the point across.

Wait, so there are people who actually like Bleach?

Damn... I mean, don't get me wrong, I actually managed to watch almost 200 eps 'til I realized just how repetitive and predictable it was. It's just a terrible terrible manga.

As for OP vs Naruto... I don't think there's a clear winner, to be honest...

I think OP is the better show, but my fav of the two is Naruto. But I don't really care much 'bout either, I just don't want to give up on them at this point, with so many years gone by watching them. I guess they're ok for when you just wanna sit back and shut off your brains for a while.

I...

What just happened?

Ahah, sorry 'bout that. I never read Bleach, just watched the anime (while skipping fillers).

As for OP and N, initially I didn't read, then I went on to reading, and now I just watch, basically.

And I have 2 brains, apparently. Or... typo.

I think it's pretty clear. OP>Naruto>Bleach.

OP is pretty damn good for what it is, Naruto was pretty good when it was character driven, and Bleach had... potential... until chapter 51.

So your watching the anime for all 3 and talking about them in the manga thread ?

They are the same shit

No there are not the anime is not canon plus there other issue like pacing etc etc .
The war in OP is one of my favorite arcs in the manga because of how fast pace it is .
In the anime it slow as hell they turn something that should have been 10eps max into near 30 plus if i remember right .

Boys on the Run: Volume 2

:( He gets himself into the worse situations. And then I sorta feel bad for laughing. But then I keep laughing anyways.

Let me know if there are too risqué for the board:

But seriously, :(

Man, I really Aoyama doesn't turn out to be the dude the chick is dating. I really thought he was a bro.

How is OP > Naruto? OP has so many characters that receive a lack of focus that it becomes a huge weakness for me. Naruto has a more focused and well developed cast that strengthen the story. Not to mention one has cooler action scenes and set pieces that make all fights feel intense.

Bleach, well it has the best anime of the three, battle choregraphy and visuals with the best musical direction.

Who is that guy on the Bleach cover. He seems pretty forgettable.

I thought he was quite memorable in the anime, must wicked Bleach laugh.

I mostly agree with surviror, the differences are minimal. Plus, I did read read all of naruto and OP up until a year or so ago, but I hate reading scanlations, screens destroy my eyes.

Naruto Part 2 is the most putrid shit.

I could understand talking about how good Naruto was if we're talking about Part 1 exclusively. That was some genuinely good shit. Part 2, though? It pretty much was ALL bad outside of a couple of memorable parts.

I dont agree. I liked how it was longer and most events logically placed in a less confusing manner. It litrally seemed in the manga that Oda had clustered so many events in different locations in the war that I couldnt keep track of it until seeing it animated.

There not minimal maybe to you but pacing among other things matter to people .

It's a war what do you expect plus the anime add fair amount of stuff that did not happen in the manga along with cutting out one of the best parts with half face WB kicking ass.
