I may be in the minority but I do hope they tone it down a bit regarding the whole dudebro/military UNSC side of the halo narrative in Halo 4. The storylines of Halo 2, 3, ODST and Reach all seem to focus on this aspect of the fiction but, at least to me, it's the least interesting part of the Halo canon. I secretly hope the UNSC don't show up in Halo 4 (even though it's clear from the concept art that this won't be the case), or at least aren't quite as prominent in the story.

Halo 3: ODST had one magazine reveal followed by a complete blackout for 7 months before its actual hype train started 3 months before release.
Halo 2 was announced in 2002 and released in 2004. There is a difference.
I wouldn't say you're in the minority; I know I'm hoping for the same thing. I really love the more alien aspects of the Halo universe, like all the crazy Forerunner stuff we've seen and read about. That's really what I want to see the most of, and when the UNSC inevitably shows up in Halo 4 I really hope they don't distract too much from the Forerunner focus.
Really I just want to be given an AR, a BR, and a crazy Forerunner planet to run around in.

It's because it's still a rumor whether any Halo 4 stuff will be shown.
But will there be any event at all? I don't see anything related to that.
Is this in reference to the MS conference at MWC? Why would halo be shown there?

I think anything shown at the Spring Showcase is enbargoed until the 5th of March, so it's not an event that will have live coverage and such.

Loop, or Durango as its known now will be a 2013 launch, Halo 4 will be out this year (September is my guess). Just like Halo 2 came out in 2004 and 360 in 2005, unless you are trying to change the perception you don't launch with your big games, you use that time to experiment with new IPs while your main studios revamp and ramp up for the next gen dev cycle.
