Lots of new PS3 and PSP software. IMO Sony should've launched the Vita in Japan last. PSP is still pretty healthy.

New Love Plus had a huge drop off. Yikes.

Theatrhythm was supply-constrained, so it should bounce back.

Surely these must both be a case of supply constrain?
 
Word-of-mouth going around on New Love Plus was horrible, not surprised with that. I personally saw stacks of used copies of it in many different stores just a few days after release. (Which is not odd in itself in Japan, but odd for a game in this genre)

Theatrhythm was still hard to find through most of the week, but I wonder if at this point the supply constraint will have collapsed a lot of the sales they would have gotten otherwise.

theatrythm at least has an excuse with new stock possibly not coming in til mid next week. No excuse for love plus though.
 
Great debut for HM. RF4 is gonna be huge.

Revelations still holding in there. lol @ NLP, Nobody wants a girl with bugs. And am I right in guessing Theatrhythm's out if stock now more or less?

Gotta respect the good old PSP! And Harvest Moon's perfomance is crazy.
 
Wow, Vita is getting closer to hitting below 10k.

Not surprised at the Ashura's Wrath numbers, honestly. I don't think it'll do better here at all.

Totallly agree that PSV should have released in Japan last, PSP is still moving software to be a viable new purchase for consumers, PSV looks pretty unappealing in this way

Oh well, I'm sure the fortunes will change once more software is revealed

Does anyone know many games have significantly recovered from this situation, and what was their general level of profile (in terms of sales)?

Theatrhythm might be due to supply constraint, hard to tell until the next shipment comes out.

Pros:
Harvest Moon and Tales of the Heroes did really well
Bandai Namco has all their games doing pretty well
3DS still doing well, nice jump for PSP numbers

Cons:
Asura's BOMBA
Vita hardware and software sales
Love Plus and Theatrhythm massive drop, possibly supply constraint for T:FF but does Love PLus have an excuse?

FF3 recovered quite well, thats all I can remember.
 
Yeah, 3DS has the advantage of completely being able to replace the DS (full BC right?), not so much with the Vita.

At .least the PSP is still keeping Sony relevant in the handheld market while the Vita, hopefully, gains steam.

This stuff takes time, even if Sony is securing good stuff as we speak it will still take time to develop to be in a presentable form for showcase purposes.

We will probably have to wait for a big show (E3 etc) for anything major to be revealed anyway.
 
I need to get my yearly Harvest Moon fix in soon. I'm thinking of going back and running Friends of Mineral Town or something like that this year.

the DS final fantasy III went through the same thing. I think sales jumped when stock came in. It's not insurmountable if some hold off on selling for more DLC.

3DS selling great, PSP and PS3 good and everything else miserably. Next week should be interesting with One Piece Musou and new special bundle for PS3. I wonder how big boost PS3 will get.
 
Wow, that is the best opening for a Harvest Moon ever. At least I can't remember in recent memory a HM title debuting that high.

I don't know, personally I have little faith in Sony, it's all about what third parties commit to the PSV with

I remember 3DS having similar problems with people choosing DS over it for a good part of it's first year (when there was little software) but Nintendo dropped the price and revealed a lot of killer software (both first and third party exclusive, including of course MH) which changed things around
Sony need to do something similar

Yep and I'm glad they're still charting in the top 10, the Famitsu top 10 chart with one of them missing (MK7) was disturbing, something abnormal.

And I'm wondering if RE:R will top the 300k at this rate, what do you thing guys ?
