Halo 4 Announced (MS Conf, 2012, Start Of New Trilogy)

That's really constructive.

As others have pointed out Halo 2 went without a public showing for quite some time.

Later it was discovered that the reason for this was problems during development.
If Halo 4 info doesn't surface soon, it would probably be due to dev problems or a change in platform.

This is however all moot, since by every indication we are getting H4 info in the coming month.

Alternately, being 3434's first Halo game, they wanted to make sure it had as strong a debut as possible, and that meant waiting until they were ready. We simply don't know, but there's no way to draw that particular conclusion.

I don't see any way Halo 4 ISN'T coming out this fall. What else would be the 360's big holiday title this year? There's a few things you could throw out there, but none as big as Halo 4.

I'm sure 343 is taking into account the lessons learned from Halo 2's reveal, particularly the E3 demo.

People need to know Halo is in good hands and releasing early footage would be the worst possible thing they could do. So far, Halo 4 has been met with surprisingly genuine optimism and they don't want to waste that good will away with a less than stellar debut.

Gamers are excited to know that Halo could be heading in a new and rejuvenating direction for the franchise. This trailer really needs to be money and it needs to be convincing.

Needless to say, I'm super excited for the future of the series even if I still have my doubts.

If it can't be released in time then there's not much they can do. They'll probably make Fable: The Journey the big holiday title and give it Halo 4's marketing campaign.

from what I've heard with regards to deve problems, they're definetly having some, many of the propaganda people are in similar positions at 343 and some issues are arising.
Yeah, from what I've heard too, they're having so many problems.

From what I've heard. Do you see it all? Here's what I've heard.

...

Edit: I'm joking, just to be clear.

Can we get a mod in here to clear people posting in this thread with things like this that are just made up?

Try to not let it get to you. No matter how much you debunk unsubstantiated bullshit, people are going to parrot it.

Hasn't this game been in development for at least four years already in some shape or form? I think the lack of information is much more likely to be a deliberate marketing strategy.

Can't say I think it's a good one.

Right, that's what I was saying just a bit ago. I understand that it's anticipated and all, but given all the shit Bungie still gets for the Halo 2 and Halo 3 reveals compared to the final game, I think it's all for the best that 343 take their time.

Yes, but they also had to build the studio up from scratch during that time.

I heard that fronk guy is trying Hairdrenalin the miracle product that will ensure long luscious vibrant and curly locks within 2 weeks or your money back. Its what Ellis uses on his chin

Yep, 100% agreed.

If it's not ready, then don't show it.

That being said, I really do hope there is a reveal in this Spring Showcase deal. It feels like the right time to reveal some nuggets of truth bombs.

I heard that if you write down the 343rd letter in the past 25 Waypoint updates on Facebook it forms a code to unlock the Halo 4 beta on Xbox Live. :-O

Terms and Conditions apply. Not valid for EuroGAF.

I think this goes far in explaining why we haven't seen anything yet.

We can now be pretty sure that we will see previews and media from H4 relatively soon.
What I said earlier made more sense back when the only thing we had heard was that we would get info before or at E3.

right so no one from propaganda games is working at 343? propaganda games had a lot of issues with their management, and you're saying that none of those issues are reappearing again? It's nice to hear, thanks for the clarification.

Good points. Also remember the 343 dev who was asking for help finishing the game a few weeks ago. As I said back then if a bungie dev ever tweeted that during development the internet would have exploded.

This thread feels like a group therapy session.

There's much worse out there. I've had grim reports from my contacts on the Waypoint forums. Apparently many members have gone feral and that full on forum brawls are breaking out daily as a result of people wrongly linking 'new' Halo 4 information. Mods are trying their best to keep it together but they can only ban so many people without the forum flat out breaking apart. They simply don't have the strength, they're fatigued and outnumbered, the members are angry and restless. It's a mess out there.

I heard there's a few cult group over there as well now, one group claims that if you sign a few contracts and join their group, then you'll get 'exclusive Halo 4 information'. Many have joined, but they're not quite the same people after, some have begun to disappear full stop.

I'm staying away.

Tell them to remember that games are their friends, maybe that'll help.
