The Lakers have no trade assets, we need to somehow upgrade on the cheap.

That Pau for Scola + Lowry is an amazing deal the more I think about it.

I don't want Boozer anywhere near a fucking Lakers uniform.

Looks great!

Rondo for Pau and Bynum is fair.
Maybe I'm just underrating Rondo, but I don't think so. I think his weaknesses would be really highlighted without strong big men to help makeup for it. Then again, KG's contract expires after this year, and that'll help the Lakers a lot.

I might be alright with Pau leaving for a pg at Rondo's level. I wouldn't do Bynum for a pg identical to Rondo, and sure as hell wouldn't do Pau+Bynum for a pg like Rondo.

I would never want the actual Rondo in LA unless we can absolutely fleece Ainge.

Obama was on the BS report with Bill Simmons.

http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/03/01/the-president-has-league-pass/?ls=iref:nbahpt2

BS: So you’re catching up, obviously, on the fact that you had been surpassed as the most famous person who was a Harvard graduate.

Obama: Jeremy is —

BS: Jeremy Lin.

Obama: — doing good. And I knew about Jeremy before you did, or everybody else did, because Arne Duncan, my Secretary of Education, was captain of the Harvard team. And so way back when, Arne and I were playing and he said, I’m telling you, we’ve got this terrific guard named Jeremy Lin at Harvard. And then one of my best friends, his son is a freshman at Harvard, and so when he went for a recruiting trip he saw Lin in action. So I’ve been on the Jeremy Lin bandwagon for a while.

Obama was a fan before all yall :P

Just heard bosh isn't with the team, hope the dude is okay.

More minutes for Pittman and Howard I guess. LMA will go off but we can guard everybody else.

And Chalmers might have his best game of the season, thanks Felton!

@ESPNSteinLine, Lamar Odom to spend couple days with D-League affiliate to "get his legs back". Not different than Dirk's situation.

lol

So I was playing 2K12 the other day and man it seems very clunky and not very fluid. Anyone here play it?

Tainted opinion as i had only played 2k9 briefly but I'm happy with it. That being said i mostly play offline.

My only problem is probably beyond the pick and roll or pick and pop it's hard to do a specific play unless you practice it. And it takes too long to switch to an off ball guy. At least for me hitting a bumper then hitting another bumper plus that guys icon takes too much time off the clock for it too be useful. Rare is it that i've had a game over 5 assists. And at the basic level guys just stand around unless you innate.

Saying all that though, playing 12 and then going back to my brothers copy of 2k9 was mindblowing. It was literally just lay up after lay up in that game with no need to run a defense (you can't you'll get scored on) or an offense (why bother, go to the hoop and score or get a shooting foul) I can see some incremental improvements to 12 but the core gameplay works well

I guess I can give the demo another try and see if it grows in me. Thanks.

Yeah, Pau & Bynum for Gasol seems ridiculous. I know I'm a Bulls fan, but if the Lakers are insistent on getting rid of Gasol, then Gasol for Boozer, Watson, Omer is a good trade. If they're insistent on getting rid of him.

How the mighty have fallen.

It's obvious he just wants to come home.

You can keep them.

At this point, I don't know what our strategy is. Coach sucks, no PG, 1 Bench player, 1 Insane, 3 really good players and a couple of guys that show flashes of quality.

We're much worse than last year, and the FO is silent. Luckily, only a year left for the Mike Brown experiment.

I have no idea why the Celtics want to trade Rondo.

Then again I don't really understand why any team in the league wants to trade their PG when I have to watch Jameer + Duhon every game.

Because he's not that good. He's considered a top 15 player when he's just a slightly above average PG. He's not getting the offense anywhere this year and it's really debatable if his defense is good at all since his teammates are so good defensively.

If a Gasol for Lowry/Scola trade is really on the table they need to pull the trigger on that shit ASAP!

We get a rock solid PG and a rock solid 4. The only thing the Lakers would be missing is a solid bench player to make them genuinely dangerous again.

We'd probably already have that if Kupcakes had some balls and told Odom to man the fuck up.

Rondo has a few huge holes in his game that bogs him down big time.

Can't shoot mid range, can't shoot from 3 and can't hit FTs consistently. Its a really big part of being a great point guard.

He's a sports car without brakes.

Does that rumor have any legs? Cuz if so thats just a complete win for the Lakers.

Thanks, I needed a good laugh.

Wait, you disagree?

how is rondo a top 15 player in the league?

He's not even the first option on his own, 7th or 8th seed in the EAST team.

He's a great piece to add to a team, and he would be great on someone like the lakers who already have the pieces but need someone to come in and really make them click at a higher level.

But thats all he is. He's the 4th piece on a chip team. He's not the first, second, or third piece you look for.

I'll say this, Top 15 is debatable. I was laughing more at how he's not that good. The only thing he can't do is shoot. Defense, passing, instincts, penetration, etc he's money. I like him.

Deron, Rose, CP3 are better, but that's it.

Yeah, but the Lakers seem desperate to trade Gasol.

All those Beasley trade rumors are teeeeerrible

I think hes been good this year, he should stay. Plus, Jermaine Oneal? Really? He died 4 years ago

Deron, Rose, Curry, CP3, Nash, Probably Irving too. I'll take Rubio before him also. Ty Lawson, Andre Miller.

Thats with out thinking about it too much. All those guys give you more options on the court than rondo. Some would probably be on the same level as him TBH.

But not being able to shoot at ALL is really really bad. Particularly as he wont, even if left open. He's shooting below .250 from three. You can employ hack-a-rondo also.

I really do like the kid as a PG, and i love his vision, passing, timing, his defense is one of the best for a PG atm. And i love when he plays with some swag and a chip on his shoulder, he can really kick things up a gear.

But he's also really flawed.
