what's wrong with that? pokemon is a much bigger franchise and sells far more then halo and milking it seems a better option
plus each new pokemon game has hundred's of new poke's revamped story, new villans, new modes and a new region
while a new halo game is basically a new map?
i'm not trolling but they have released a halo game every year since 2007

And there has been 40 Pokemon games in 16 years

Let's also not forget that the franchise was set up from the start to require you to buy multiple versions of the game and/or trade with others that had the other versions. But anyway I don't think anyone's really upset. More then anything I think everyone is amused right now and watching a train wreck in action.
