Where's are TotalBiscuit videos :(

Thought he'd do one per class.

WTB more Engineer footage.

He said it takes a long time to edit the videos because he wasn't the one playing.

Also, Blizzard sent me 7 days of free WoW so I said what the hell and patched up. Get in game and it's been 9 months since I'd played. At the time I had some raid gear from BWD/BH/BoT and now I can do one new dungeon and grind the rest to get new gear to do the new dungeons to grind gear to do the new raids. Oh how I missed this! I lost interest within an hour of realizing that I'd have to do the content I did almost a year ago 10+ times again to move on. Why did I do this again?

To be fair you don't need to do any of the content you did a year ago, in fact it barely makes any sense to do so. You can get a whole set of gear for the new raids from the new heroic dungeons, then do Firelands / Dragon Soul.

Excellent system. Even though Guild Wars 2 is taking it to the ultimate extremey goodness, i'm starting to see other games lean towards it as well.\

Jayge: I absolutely cannot stand it when his friend does that.

Really? That's my favorite part of their videos. I keep hoping for something cute to come on the screen so he can scream about it. I think they're funny, even if they obviously can't play the game well.

Maybe it's because I have my speakers turned up too loud or something. Even though we've seen less than acceptable game play, I think the majority of not all of the videos posted are just to show us each classes skills, abilities and particle effects. Having only a couple of days to play with the mindset of showing off specific material for their audience doesn't leave much room to learn the system I would think.

It drives me insane. Half because of how annoying it is by itself and half because it's straight creepy for a grown man to make that noise over and over again.

You stepped off the hamster wheel, you know what happens. You fall behind everyone else who isn't getting anywhere either, but at least they're getting there faster.

i dislike their voices lol

I can't believe that people normally talk like that while playing, so it's obviously their attempt at standing out by being funny / silly. Normally that wouldn't be so annoying, but the the problem is, they're *terrible* at the game and their footage quality is substandard. That just compounds their constant screaming and goofiness.

TotalBiscuit really got screwed over on this press event; his footage has always been amazing and his narration entertaining but not overly so (and certainly not as artificial-sounding as Yog). That he was out of the country when the event hit and has been struggling to sort through the footage is really the biggest disappointment in GW2 news that I can think of (more than the wait for the next Beta)

I plan on using the two extra buttons on my mouse for Dodge and weapon swap. I think they will both be used anough to warrant it.

This is my plan as well, those are two keys I want access to at all times. I was planning to put weapon swap on my tilde key, but I think that location might be better for my Heal skill.

I agree with you, Retro. The footage from them sucks compared to the stuff I want to see from TB. I hope he makes footage from the next beta so I can see the real him talking. Because his current videos are him but more trying to admin what's going on.

the other thing i dont understand is why anet didnt just let a good handful of fans play with the press too? in fact why not just make a open beta, the game certainly looks complete. i never understood why company hold of on fans like that.

Press is easier to manage in terms of NDAs than a bunch of random gamers, I would imagine.

I really enjoyed the footage of MikeB, Yogs and TB. Tbh, I had a few laughs too while watching. I'm not much into the whole theorycrafting thingie, especially when there's going to be so much changes around the corner, so I'm happy to see some relaxed footage while not being smacked around the ears with numbers, tactics, etc...

I really liked the latest Yogs video actually, my favorite so far outside of the elementalist and the guardian. Mostly because of watching them explore new areas and find interesting shit to do, stumbling around into dynamic events, without any predetermined direction.

But then i start thinking...why does it matter if there is an nda?

Because in theory they can control what kind of content is released to the public by limiting what those under the NDA can actually disclose. For example, in the Press Beta they were told not to use any screenshots other than the ones provided. People playing on low-end systems with the graphics turned down posting screenshots would give people the wrong impression.

I'm surprised they allowed so many people to FRAPs their Beta access considering how low quality the results have been.

There's probably stuff that isn't finished, from what we know they weren't allowed to talk about the Trading Post so I guess it's not done yet. I just think they want to control the flow of information, let people talk about what they deem to be "finished" while they get the stuff that isn't finished up to snuff. ANet has said they want you to be blown away the first time you play so they're not going to let people talk about something unless it's up to their standards (which seems to be incredibly high).

ok i understand but to me i still dont see the real reason to not let your fans have a little fun with your game, we have been waiting for years for this game why not throw us a damn bone already lol.

i am not saying this just about anet, its all these game company do the same thing. i just never understood some of the decisions they make thats all

Because they want your first impression to be as strong as possible. The MMO genre is littered with the corpses of games that didn't launch on a high note and failed to gain a foothold. Quite a few of them had large open beta events that weren't very good and ended up loosing a lot of potential sales.

Warhammer Online, for example, had a terrible open Beta. I was there, and I have to admit that it turned me off the game quite a bit.

Hmm. Your experience and mine were polar opposites. I never had any issue with WAR till it went live. The betas were fun as hell. Far from perfect but enjoyable.

Does anyone have any good Thief videos? Youtube search isn't helping that much.

Also, just thinking about the armor combine and dye system, I didn't really think it was that big of the deal but I just had an awesome idea of finding Thief armor (with hood) that looks the closest to the Assassin's outfit from Asasssin's Creed and dying it white.

I think it would be pretty cool to see a bunch of people running around like that.

Thanks a lot. It's good to see him using the dodge in battle. Out of the Warrior, Ranger, and Thief, the Thief is looking a lot more appealing now.

Yeah. Who knew these characters could dodge? The damn people who've gotten a chance to play this game hardly ever seem to do it. This guy it at least reasonably competent about it.

So, I just read the novels, and there is a Sylvari necro supporting character in one of them.

...I wanted to be a unique flower. =(

I know it's a long shot that anyone will know... does anyone know what keys the game uses by default?

For MMOs I usually use... 1,2,3,4,5,Q,E,R,Z,X,C and V. Along with a Shift + of each of course. Got three extra buttons on my mouse as well. Looks like it will be plenty since this game only uses 12 keys right?

Tilde is awful.

In MMOs I usually use 123456QWARTG for skills, ESDF for movement. Using Shift/Alt/Ctrl modifiers quadruples that for a total of 48 keybinds.

Usually enough but lol, skill bloat.

Razer Naga baby :)

I don't have 80 bucks to blow and it looks uncomfortable as hell, not to mention they have a longstanding reputation for being cheap-feeling and prone to breakage.

I'll stick with my two side buttons on my mouse and the hotkeys. I don't need no fancy-shmancy gadget to rock faces in this game.
