Lost in super classy Peyton being super classy, is the whole "Saints are thugs" thing.

Mike Vick claims that he's had plenty of bounties placed on him over his career (not naming teams), sees being targeted as a compliment to his importance as a player, not as something personal.

Some of the feedback all over the internet is going to keep me entertained for a while! I am so happy that everyone is NOT realistic about the chances of signing him.

"Yo, if we draft a receiver in the third round, and get Randy Moss for veteran minimum, we trade so and so, we trade our mediocre player for Jake Long straight up, we move the team to Los Angeles, awww yeah Peytons coming to _________"

It will never happen, but If I was Atlanta I would throw Ryan under the bus for Peyton. Plenty of the fans here (at least the ones I keep running into) have already turned on Ryan anyway.

RBH, your thoughts?

Just put them in a file on your computer and reply to this in 3 months when your ban ends.

The big issue with the Saints thing isn't the bounties for injuring players (although that's bad), it's that the bounties violate both the salary cap and the CBA

The league just went though a lockout trying to establish a new CBA and the Saints basically just crumbled it up.

Everyone with a functional brain knows that player make deals and bets between themselves all the time. Everyone knows QB's buy their linemen TVs and other things.

The fact that the Saints coaching staff (with approval from their GM and HC*) was paying players violates the CBA and the Salary Cap.

*Both Lomis and Payton knew it was going on and did nothing to stop it, which is equal to them giving approval.

It's all about exactly what is a "bounty". All teams want to hit other players hard, and there's nothing wrong for rewarding a guy who does it within the rules. But the Saints were paying guys to go beyond the rules, and go for the knees/head.

It's a slippery thing. Romo had a rib injury last year. I think we all agree is was just football that the Redskins tried to hit him there. But wherever the line is, the Saints crossed it

Saw Stephen Hill's pro day. Casserly made another good point on the guy. He didn't run his routes with the same explosiveness he ran his 40. Where a guy like Blackmon isn't going to run a top end 40 but is off the line and attacks his routes. Hill will need time to develop and will need good coaching

Wouldn't there still be questions of salary cap circumvention in this scenario?

That the money may have been coming from an outside source makes it all the more sinister too.

Peyton would have to get a second before he could get a third.

As far as I'm concerned, Peyton and the Colts won the 2009 Super Bowl by default.

lolwut?

I love how Miami is always in play for the biggest free agents now. Heat got Lebron, The Marlins were very close to getting Pujols (got Reyes though), and now Dolphins might get Peyton?

If the Dolphins land him, it's a great time to be a Miami fan.

So the stadium will be 70% full?

Don't forget the Panthers with Versteeg leading us to 1st in the division!

Nah, it'll be completely full.

Upshaw's not going top ten, honestly believe he's a late first. Guy is probably a better inside backer than out in a 3-4. Bull rush and strength will only get you so far, once a tackle locks out it's a wrap, no real counter moves and gets by on power/motor.

I want Manning so badly. I know it probably won't fix much, but I just want to be excited for my team for once. Its been miserable for so long, I just want to be excited.

I would love to see Michael Floyd drop to 19, but he had to run a 4.4 at the combine and I have lost faith. Stupid win against the Vikes.

If Floyd doesn't drop there, I think they take Stephen Hill. He will certainly take longer to make an impact.

Depending on who we get in FA it will determine when we draft a WR. And I think we go Decastro over Adams. I am hoping one of the elite DE's fall to us in the first tho, draft a WR in the 2nd and third, and sign Royal and Colston.

The Fleener pick would remind me a bit of the Kenny Phillips selection. Chosen based on need instead of value. Some predicted Phillips to drop in the early to mid rounds, and the Giants took him early because they lost Gibril Wilson in FA. Fleener has some athletic ability and looks to have nice size, but his blocking isn't up to par with what the Giants would likely garner. My hope is they pick a TE sometime in the draft, but also pick up a FA like Kellen Davis from Chicago.

When have you seen Floyd run by a defensive back? Yeah he ran faster than expected but that's because everyone felt his speed was average when they actually watched him play.

Well I just hope to god we don't draft Adams, that guys going to be a huge bust. I wouldn't mind taking DeCastro. Having a stud guard will help a lot and I think Lance Louis gives the Bears some flexibility because he can play guard or RT.

Hopefully we don't waste big money on Vincent Jackson. Guy is almost 30 years old, and I'd hate to overpay him and have another Moose Muhammed on our hands.

I'd love to take Michael Floyd in the first, but I suspect he will be taken earlier. Stephen Hill looks pretty awesome because his measurables are insane, but he'd be a risky first rounder. Althought if someone like Poe or Mercilus dropped to the bears I'd be cool with going D-line.

I know it's not accurate, but every time I think of the dolphins I feel like their last playoff game was that blowout against the Jags. 63-7 or whatever. I think even Rob Johnson threw a TD pass.

I slept in that morning, woke up, saw the score at halftime (41-7), laughed and went back to sleep.

Oh stop acting like your the Lions, you went to the playoffs in 08, thats not really ages ago. I mean, its not like your team is the raiders or niners of (last year) who hadn't sniffed the post season in 10 years.

Life Support Lovie hits the road to wine and dine potential first round picks for the Bears. First up WR Stephen Hill. Story here.

Mike Mayock said:
I think he’s just kind of overwhelming from a height-weight-speed-upside perspective. I think he runs too well and catches too well to get out of the first round, in my opinion.

Mayock is the new Jay Bilas.
