I've seen Flynn play in the NFL but there is not a great body of work to judge him on. Unless you meant NFL+College but I'm assuming there isn't much there due to him being drafted where he got drafted. I'll rewatch his games and try to separate his talent from the teams talent.
Tannenhill on the other hand I've seen nothing, well actually I'm watching some complete games on youtube right now and I'm not liking it so far. For as athletic as he is he doesn't have great pocket awareness, stares down receivers and has a horrible long ball. I've only watched two full games so I'll watch more and see if my perceptions change.

I think the defensive side of the ball. I think the Linebacker core is solid, but they need some help over the top and the D-line. Cornerbacks are okay too if everyone is healthy at the start of the season, maybe more depth.
Offense... maybe RB, and possibly a Reciever in the later rounds.

Coaches should be supended for 6 games, fined, and 1st round draft pics taken for the next 2 years. They should set the organization back two years.

They'll probably draft a safety. Hopefully Ras-I Dowling comes back from that injury. I have to believe McCourty will move to safety full time along with Chung. Hilariously enough their pass rush wasn't abominable last year, mostly because of two players. Besides Wilfork though, their dline is pretty garbage.

alex karas received a year ban for betting on games, it has to be more severe than that. Take their entire draft this year, Williams needs a multiyear suspension minimum. Payton needs one year minimum. I would ban them both myself.
I have to think Williams is suspended for at least a year if not outright banned. Payton will probably get off with a big fine and a short suspension. Then again, Payton's been a dick towards league policy anyways, so maybe this is a chance for the league office to knock him down a few pegs.
I'm interesting to see what they do with the players, most. If they suspend Vilma for that bounty on Favre, that opens up a huge can of worms.

Yes we *could* we just didn't. If we had the defense we have now we easily would have won. We get a HOF QB now, we have a pretty good shot (if we get a decent #2 threat). I'm confident in our coaches as well (save Grimm) don't feel they are mediocre at all. The ownership comment is not only ignorance, but stupidity. I just explained in the very post you quoted our ownership situation, ffs. You non Card fans don't know what the hell you're talking about, you just see the last name and assume it's the same person making the decisions. Take a look at our re-signings the past few years, the aggressiveness in obtaining Kolb, moving up in the draft when it made sense (Daryl Washington). This is not the cheap and stand pat Bidwill Sr.

ok, well the 49ers COULD have won a superbowl this year with alex but we just didn't! and your defense isn't as good as you think it is. 18th in YPG, 17th in PPG allowed. bottom half of the league in defense. you're acting as if you have a top 5 defense and just need that QB to put you over the top.... lololol.
like i said before, if you want to make the argument that your D was in a new system and could get better with experience then fine. but i can make the same argument about the 49ers offense. bottom line is even with peyton manning on your team you are still 2nd best team in the division at best until proven otherwise

Meachem seems like more of a risk than Colston. With Colston you know what you are getting, a strong big bodied receiver who can make tough catches. Meachem seems like a deep threat and that's it.
Garcon has a drop problem, but he would provide a vertical threat that we desperately need.

You stated we couldn't win it with a HOF'er. We lost in the closing minute or two of the game. You couldn't even make it to the dance so don't try to compare. I'm guessing you looked at how we averaged for the whole season? Our defense didn't turn it on until the second half, spacing which game it was. Horton's scheme was too complex for them with no off season, he straight up stripped the book and did a vanilla D against Seattle in week 3 because of the difficulties. Late in the season, the guys got around 60-65 percent of Horton's book down and we started beasting. Still need to generate turnovers but we really limited TD's against us. They'll have the whole scheme down in time for this season, our D will be a top defense.
49er offense is limited by Smith. You'll only get worse when Gore wears down. Certainly we need to prove ourselves with Peyton, we don't know if he'll stay healthy and how quick he'll get back to playing like himself. He hasn't played in a season, after all. It's entirely possible that after this huge debacle, we get him and he gets smashed game 1 and is forced to retire. Anything can happen, including us making it to the SB. I'm just saying if Peyton is playing like Peyton, we have a very good chance. Need to get another WR to open Fitz more though.
