So much info in here that it feels almost like chore to wade through it all.
Thou, it feels so good.
Damn! Looks real juicy. I'm jelly. Also, wasn't there an OP green book before too?

An apt description for the manga

I'm very excited about the next childhood promise.

Suicide Island: 1-5

Being the easily distracted idiot I am, I ended up on this (ongoing) comic from the same guy that does Holyland. His art in this seems a lot more...solid I think is the right word? Especially the women. Although the guys still suffer from looking real similar in side shots.

I'm liking it so far. It's a like a suicidal version of the 1st season of Lost/Cage of Eden. Except it's just people killing themselves rather than things on the island. And with a romance subplot has a healthy dose of potential double suicide. Fun times!

I really should just stick to Solbro's recommendations, but I thought I'd just let some of you know this is a thing that exists. A survival story where everyone has already tried to kill themselves multiple times (and failed).
Well since I have read Holyland and I spewed that list of recommendations back there I took a crack at Suicide Island. Seems promising so far with the first chapter. Need to somehow squeeze in more time for manga inbetween all these fightan games. Also didn't know Redhawk was behind the translation, so that's more reason to look forward to more. Lastly hope something I recommended ends up enjoyable =p.

This sounds like it could have a promising for that NTR premise. I look forward to more reactions.

I read that the bankai thing was mangareader translating horribly as usual.

He actually started saying something about Bankai and then didn't finish. Which is probably just the sealing thing Ivan did to Ichigo. Though I don't know how the hell he actually found that out.

Say what you will, but they have still got nothing on early Bleach releases.

"Kitsune!"

I Am A Hero volume 6

YEEESSSSSS

After becoming the best zombie survival story around this manga has now set its sights on being the best
zombie waifu
story around.

I Am a Hero vol. 6

Well that got weird.

This group is going to collapse so fast. I wouldn't be surprised if it happens as soon as the next volume.

Hey Manga-GAF, I need some recommendations.

Me and my friend are looking to get back in to manga and are basically looking for a new series to follow together and she's kind of tasked me with picking out something. I had in mind maybe a weekly shonen series; something stupid and fun with interesting characters. I considered One Piece or Negima, but I was hoping we could maybe find something that's started more recently and that we could catch up to quicker.

So I guess to simplify the question: is there any good newer weekly shonen series? In the past I really liked stuff like Mx0 and Air Gear.

Yes, that is exactly how it was in the Sengoku period.

"Masamune-same, what is it you want?"
"Kojuurou, won't you come to my room later?" :lol you really did it now, fuckin hell.

What kind of manga do you or your friend like?

Anyways for something weekly I would recommend

Beelzebub
Hayate no Gotoku

i recommend princess resurrection.

Monthly =p.

Mx0 huh.. and Air Gear?

It does seem like you'll be fine with One Piece/Hunter x Hunter etc but if you want something more new, Magi. I can also get behind Solune if you're fine with semi-pure comedies.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember reading any manga recently that employs the "Good people = handsome, Bad people = fat/ugly" trope with 100% full throttle other than Magi.

...Maybe Bakuman, perhaps?

I mean, holy shit at that one aspect of Magi, hahahahaha.

Check out this thread I made.

For recent stuff (as in within the last year or so), we got Magico, Gamaran, Magi, Cage of Eden, Gan-Kon, Iris Zero, Choujin Gakuen, Kamisama no Iutoori, Kurogane, Life is Money, Pokemon Reburst, Ratman (not recent, but translations are still catching up), Shingeki no Kyojin, Toraneko Folklore, Trinity Seven. That should be enough for now.

I want some good zombie/vampire/horror manga. What are some of the best ones?

For zombies, there's I Am a Hero, Mouryou no Yurikago, and Highschool of the Dead I guess. For some reason, there's more zombie comedies than zombie horror in manga.

For vampires, the best one out there is Higanjima. Massively underrated series.

Thanks guys, I'll definitely check out your recommendations. Magi is giving me good vibes.

Maybe I'll be able to rekindle my love of manga!

TLR Darkness 13

Not bad, although being attached to any other girl than Yami would have been more entertaining.

13.5

Yes, Haruna! More chapters like this, please!

Fairy Tail

I'm liking First more and more. She is christmas.

I remember how Wiseblade was when we started, and now look at this. Practically a different person.

Fairy Tail

What is up with Fairy Tail losing all of their fights. I can understand Grey and Lucy, but Mystogan? That's the second time someone got spellblocked while using their ultimate technique ?_?

So-so chapter since the art and characters made it worth reading at least.

Liar Game

Is it just me or is this new arc kind of simple and boring? And for being so simple they are over-explaining and re-explaining every single detail, even more than usual.

It's a bad way of building tension. Like really bad.

Nisekoi 17 - MC being sent flying by the female lead and childhood promises? Love Hina 2.0!

...

Assassin-girl is cute.

Fairy Tail

This is the laziest way of making the main characters the underdog ever.

If Mashima would make them lose fair and square that'd be another thing,
but this is just a cheap way of making them lose without it implying that FT
was actually capable of losing in a fair match.

/edit

On that note, just having characters looking like they're constipated doesn't constitute as a valid plot.

Fairy Tail

Jellal will win next week. It´s inevitable. Dammit, i hate that character and all of his copies, alternative other world self etc.... The way Mashima showed Wendy, Lucy, Gray, means that Jellal will most definitely win.

I think this proves indubitably that Mashima's work is vastly unpredictable. Jellal lost in the most shocking manner indeed.

Fairy Tail 274

Jellal v Jura was more epic than I expected. So much magical powers that I was litrally drooling in amazement from it all. The drawing the signs in the sky in the midst of attack topped the cake as well as the near completion of that Star Destruction magic. Would have been so nice to see it come through. Ultear's, Natsu's and cos faces were priceless throughout as well. Favorite scene was Jellal laughing too.

Hyped for the next round, and Natsu's, Gray's, Jellal's fights in the future. However with the last page, Fairy Tail just got even deeper.
