I've been "complaining" as you put it about the features I find to be out of sorts since they were brought up. The first big GW2 thread started like 8 months ago. So I really don't think everyone is "complaining" just for the sake of it. If you find illegitimacy with my criticism for example, I'll listen.
Its not that I find it illegitimate, its that it is so miniscule and common practice among other games that it doesn't seem worth complaining about. Especially when one is still open to change.(I think this was brought up last time the respec cost was talked about)

ANet is changing a lot of other issues with mmos so lets condemn them for the one or two things they don't change? Its not like the respec will cost half of the gold you make daily through events and mobs. I just don't see a huge downside to this, just a minor gripe. Hell I consider it costing to waypoint travel a bigger issue than this, but still not really an issue.

Now lets get back to the real issue.....that downed state...
:P

This I agree with. Often my writing makes it seem like I'm at level 10 in terms of anger or something. But that's just my tone (a lot of it is supposed to be comical and fun). Respec is not a huge deal but I certainly don't agree with it.

Speaking of huge deals. But I don't think I can even return to this one. The thread would have me banished if I went through another cycle of downed state criticism.

On a positive note, what I'm most excited about is WvW and how there are 3 servers fighting each other. I think the dynamic of having two enemies to fight at once is much more interesting than a simple 1v1 battle of us vs them.

I do have a question though: can you have characters on two servers that are in the same battle and log in to both characters on the same day? Could that be exploited? I would like it if your account could only fight on one side of a WvW every two weeks.

Personally, I don't even like that you can change servers. I think you should only be allowed on one server per character (or allow you to change once permanently). So if you have an alt on another server, but you already played your main in WvW, you can't join another WvW even if it's another character. The stricter they are with these rules, the more the community will grow and people won't abandon ship to jump to "better" servers. A server should be like your country. I would also like to see enemy player names show up in battle. I want rivalries to form and have servers hate each other.

I think it works to where the first server you pick is your home server and it goes account wide. You can change servers for pve but when it comes to wvw you will always represent your home server.

Well, judging by the fact that they allow you to move from server to server for PvE and PvP, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that yeah all characters you make will be bound to your home server.

Sorry dudes, I don't mind respec fees. I know ArenaNet is going to make it cheaper than it ever was in other games, so it won't be annoying.

And I don't care about the downed state problems.. I love the idea.

Yeah tis been discussed before.

I want deets on the Collector's. No reason not to buy it since the game itself is no subscription.

I'm interested in seeing what they have in store for that new site & if they still have that mobile app planned. (The one where you could remotely view your friends play the game & supposedly chat with your guild etc.)

That app needs to happen. Seriously.

Got a nice email thanking me for being one of the millions who signed for beta and that obviously not everyone will be able to participate at first but in the meantime, here is a nice never been seen video...on fucking Facebook...sigh.

Looks like I will eventually have to make a Facebook account.

"Officially" preordering a game that has no release date, or even release window, seems odd to me.

Also, :lol at getting an elite skill from the deluxe edition. If that's exclusive, gg.

I'm in for the Deluxe at least.

I've never once looked through any art book or listened to any soundtrack that came with a collectors edition. Digital Deluxe it is.

Oh my goodness! Collectors here we come! Sorry, just got off of work and this is the first thing I saw.

I know this horse has been beaten to death but it seems to me like now that we have preorder information, the game should be relatively closer to release.

Wait if April 10th is pre-order for all beta events, wouldn't that probably mean all events are thereafter?

If they change their plans for the betas to do this, that would suck. I just took it as you pre-buy and you get in the beta's after that. But you make a good point, didn't notice the wording on that.

Oh, I missed the actual details of the CE that were posted.

Digital Deluxe edition for me!
Shame that the in-game items are mostly one-use, but that's no big deal.

I sort of thought the game was at least 3 months out so maybe a few beta weekends within April and a release thereafter? I'm probably being too optimistic but this is exciting news.

Glad the only thing seperating the Digital Deluxe and Collectors is the material bonuses. I sure as hell didn't want to have two CE lying around for my girlfrield and myself.

The beta signups seem a bit worthless now, I bet a lot of people will pre-order the game so I'm curious if they can keep up the servers.

Maybe, but it could be to see how many people they could get signed up in such a short period. Over a million in 48 hours is very impressive and probably lets Anet/NCsoft know how popular the game truly has become.

I don't understand the Golem Banker. It's an item that lets you access your bank from anywhere...but only for five days?

edit: I also wish you could pick and choose. I want the figurine from the CE for my desk at work but the rest of the stuff would just collect dust.

Most likely Collector's Edition for me...that 10-in statue of Brimstone looks really nice! Artbook is a huge plus, and I've always supported ArenaNet in their games.

I'm still thinking this will be used as a load test on the servers before the betas for the pre-buyers. They already said they needed tens of thousands and said it was for load testing, it makes sense that they would use it as a test for the upcoming pre-buyers getting in as well, and essentially each beta would get more and more of a load. That's at least how it seems.

I think it's a good idea to let all the pre orders in to get a feel for the amount of servers they will need at early access. Hopefully extrapolate from there for release. I'm not sure about SWTOR, but Warhammer Online and Rift had a big problem with a few servers having really heavy queues. They then added too many servers and many ended up being very sparsely populated.

I know GW2 has the whole server overflow thing to alleviate (eliminate?) queues and you can visit other servers at will, but it's still a numbers game on how much hardware they will need.

Tough call for me because I have the game pre-ordered for 29$, but it won't be the Deluxe edition.

So is the 3 day headstart worth the extra 50$ ? :/
