Regarding casting information, saying David Morrissey was cast as The Governor is fine just like it would be in any other tv thread. If you want to describe the character or talk about plot points from the comics, please use the spoiler thread. Same goes for any other upcoming characters. Thanks.

For example, this is in the OP:

- AMC Confirms Pruitt Taylor Vince Cast in The Walking Dead Season 2
Today AMC confirmed that actor Pruitt Taylor Vince has been cast to star in Season 2 of The Walking Dead. Vince, the star of such films as Monster, Identity and L.A. Confidential, is set to play
Otis, the foreman at Hershel's farm. Otis is described as a good-natured and polite individual, who first meets Rick and the other survivors under harrowing life-and-death circumstances.

Anything beyond that should be in the spoiler thread.

ARGH. Spoiler that!

Most of us are on total media blackout until each episode arrives! I don't want to know that the
governor of Georgia arrives for some politicking!
;)

There are different types, so yeah, he explains it via his writing in the comics.

Also, it's a zombie show. We are talking about rotting carcases with no beating hearts nor flowing fluids whatsoever behaving like living creatures. It is better not to think too much about it ;)

Ive always like watching TWD, but I've really enjoyed all the episodes from when they found Sophie in the barn. The current episodes seem a lot more interesting and exciting than the old ones. That may just be because Im more familiar with the characters now.
I was sorry to see Dale go last week. I honestly thought more GAFers would have been upset about his departure, but oh well.
I actually thought Shane might have killed Rick this week too, just to really emphasize that no one character is safe.

Carl and Lori will die?

:(

No I don't know any spoilers I'm just hoping they die.

I still cant believe Shane is dead, feels bad man.

Team Shane lives on, Team Rick is weak.

I was on Team Shane too but he did cross the line. Shame to see him go because he was the boss and by far most interesting of the group. Rick was weak before but I think stabbing Shane upped his character significantly. I'm REALLY excited for the finale and next season.

Yeah Rick definitely proved himself worthy with that. But Shane breaking open the barn and killing the zombies is still more badass/smart than anything anyone in the group ever did if you ask me.

Well he was able to kill walker Randall in the woods. That was probably supposed to represent him getting over those love-related fears he had that caused him to freeze up at the bar.

He'll probably even get a chance to kill a bunch more next episode considering the end of this one. Maybe even dramatically save Maggey and/or Hershel.

Or saving Meggie from Zombie Hershel^^

I think giving away information on the casting would be a spoiler too. I don't mind it in the thread, but it should be spoiler tagged IMO, like:

It might of been badass, but it was anything but smart:

- All that shooting could have attracted a herd
- Someone could have been killed by accident, either from all the shooting or a lucky zombie.
- It really soured Herschal & Co. against him and the group in general.
- It showed that he is unpredictable and did not help with his bid for leadership.

Not smart at all, he was just as shocked as everyone else that Sophia was there. He got lucky with that.

I thought it was a bit weird that Shane killed Randall off-camera.
An old fashioned neck-breaking wouldn't have been too graphic for the audience and I dont see why the audience shouldnt have known what Shane did, straight away.

/highfive.

the more the show goes on, the more i dislike Rick. such an idiotic leader. and a hypocrite. Especially when he shot dead the 2 guys in the bar and then was all like "oh we gotta keep randall alive; oh the drama".

fucking rick. I can't wait for them to kill his entire family on this show.

This is a serious post?

I was sorry to see Dale go last week. I honestly thought more GAFers would have been upset about his departure, but oh well.

The thing is, at this point nearly every one of the characters on the TV shows do nothing for me emotionally. While I would actually celebrate some of the characters dying, Dale's departure made me feel indiference.

Well, maybe I was a bit happy for Jeffrey DeMunn, he can leave the show now and move on to something that is less of a dump for random plottwists and no logical char development whatsoever.

What really irks me is that I love most of these characters from the comicbook-series, and here comes the show that completely ruins what is a great foundation for each of them.

And even that would be forgivable if the show was consistent in quality (even if it's not top-notch quality), but that's not the case. Most of the times it's shit, occassionally something very cool happens, but mostly that's just 10 minutes or so every other episode.

Sorry to rant, but your comment made me realise that I frigging love Dale and should have raged over him dying. Instead I raged more over the episode itself/the writing of this show then over Dale being gone.

Uhm, he actually wanted him dead, so...

He has a point. Makes little to no sense.

First they save Randall even though it was supposed to be impossible and heal him (with Hershel's magical powers, because he is able to walk just fine with a teared muscle). Then they want to kill him. We're talking of a guy who is just fine with living with rapists and a bunch of psychos, but no, they have to not do it because it's bad for the kid (and next episode they say how the kid now can be an adult). Then they want to let him go, Shane's shenanigans happen and then they're fine with killing him.

0 sense, at all.

The whole captured kid crap took too long to resolve and was obviously used to get Rick and Shane alone this last episode. Which was an amazing 5 minutes of TV btw. So awesome. And Shane's a bastard, end of story.

I'm just glad this farm story is coming to an end. I like Hershel but I don't think he'll make it out. Maybe Maggie and her catatonic little sister get out. I think Otis' wife is zombie food next week too. Also it was nice to see Daryl get his swagger back. Emo Daryl was really annoying. T-Dog got some lines and Andrea didn't bug the hell out of me so the show definitely got better there. I have mixed feelings about Shane, on one hand I'm glad the love triangle crap is over but on the other he did make things interesting with his loose cannon methods.

Stop trying to give Shane a deeper character! The writing on the show is obviously not that thought out.

Shane was a jealous psycho, end of story.

And screw Lori for even giving Shane the smallest glimpse of hope that the baby might be his.

Finally started watching this series and it's great so far!

Watch all of season 1 in one sitting

DREAM ABOUT ZOMBIES ALL NIGHT :D

That really was a bitch move by Lori. Then again it's Lori. Even my wife said during that scene, "that tramp needs to get back in the kitchen."

I still found that scene to be a head scratcher. Shane seemed like he was accepting his role in the group and keeping his distance and along comes Lori...

She could have apologized in a different way, something like "I made some honest mistakes and I'm sorry but for the good of the group let's all just work together" or something to that effect.

I was beginning to find Andrea a little bit annoying with her slightly "I'm the shit" sort of attitude but since the loss of Dale I've done a 180 on her. It's changed her a little.

Also, someone else mentioned it in this thread but I also swore that when Carl was tossing rocks at the walker stuck in the mud and it got free that he dropped Darryl's gun and I don't remember seeing him picking it back up.

Well knowing Lori's parenting of the year and Carl's dumbfuckery, Carl probably just wandered back on out there and grabbed it.

Maybe T-Dawg found it during his off-camera zombie killing antics.

Getting things done and plugging plot holes.

What is the show going to do without Shane? He was easily one of the most compelling characters on the show, whether you personally liked him or not. And he was one of the few real sources of internal tension in the group.

Yeah we still have the endless charisma fountain that is T-Dog, but can he carry the show on his own?!

T-Dawg finally had some lines after like weeks of silence lol. I guess the only team worth being on now is Team Daryl. Everyone else pretty much sucks. Gleen is cool, but I wouldn't join his team...

Yeah that confused me. They made a big deal that it was dropped there and then he magically gets it back.

Carl, at a later time, wanders back to the place where drops the gun and picks it back up. This happens off-screen. Not difficult, folks.

Generally, the rules of continuity would have you see that happen after such a focus on him dropping it was made. Of course I figured out that's probably what happened, but it was jarring to see him with it again suddenly.

Why isn't the implication enough? The kid went out there and got it. The spot he dropped it has seen many characters visit it multiple times so it's not far.

I agree, I don't think it's a big deal. If they'd said that the gun was destroyed, and then it appeared with T-Dawg then we'd have a continuity issue. Otherwise, it's obvious he just went off and went the gun.

Just because something isn't shown on the show doesn't mean that it isn't supposedly going on behind the scenes.

Then exactly what purpose does him dropping it serve? Why even waste the energy writing, shooting and editing that scene if it has no bearing on anything whatsoever? Come on, that was so very clearly sloppy writing and producing.

Sounding extremely nitpicky here.
