Any Seahawks gaf on? Can anyone tell me something about Red Bryant?

Every talking head was saying how Peyton Manning hated playing in the cold and now he's considering Denver? Nothing makes sense any more.
if weather is going to stop him from playing in a town, maybe we don't want him. Elway did it, Orton did it, Tebow played in the cold. If he can't outman Orton, and put on an extra layer, he can go play somewhere else. Its a weak excuse.

That cold game in New England really screwed Tebow hard.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
A healthy Manning would be an upgrade over most QBs, especially for the Texans.

well that's a good example too, but don't you think he might want to avoid any sort of clash with an established starter? Even if he were to come out on top.

As a Niners fan not sure how I feel about the signing of Moss. If he plays even half as well as his record setting year when he played for the patriots I will be pleased. On the other hand, the hand I am leaning toward, he has poor attitude more often than I would like to see. Moss gives up on plays, scared to go over the middle for tough catches and locker room presence is crap. We all know that as fast as he can be or his ability to make big catches one on one, can and will Alex Smith even deliver him the ball? I am not sure about this. Once Moss starts NOT getting the ball then it's back to poor attitude.

My other, and even bigger concern, is the lack of a good secondary. Need to get good corners and with Rogers a free agent what are their plans?

I don't think he would use that as the reason to not go to Denver, but it's something to at least keep in mind. From a football perspective, he historically has played much worse in the the cold than in warm outdoor games or in domes. And with him playing in Denver, I'd assume that at least half of his home games are going to be COLD.

From an off-the-field perspective, who would prefer to live in Denver's climate over Miami or Arizona or even Houston or San Francisco? There's a reason why his off-season home is on South Beach and not in Indy.

As we get closer to the FA time I'm getting antsy about Peyton's decision. Not about getting him, but because I can't help but think we won't really make any moves until we know what he's doing. Broncos probably in the same boat. He's handicapping all these teams which is why he was supposed to choose by today in the first place. Will really suck if he drags this on, we have a few holes to fill in FA.

That does make sense but anywhere he goes someone is going to lose a job. If he goes to the Broncos then Tebow is out, and if he goes to the Cards Kolb losses out on $7 million and his spot on the team. At least if he goes to the Texans Schaub would get traded to another team and still have a starting spot.

Carlos Rogers was arguably the 2nd best cb on our team in the 2nd half of the season. Tarell brown was. Brown/culliver are quality but we do need another cb. If Rogers wants $8-10 mil a year he can walk

EXCITEMENT!

Got two buddies, one a Redskins fan, the other a Cowboys fan.

I noticed that the Browns play both teams this year (skins at home, Cowboys in Dallas).

Both are tempted to go to those games, might finally get to see my first Browns games in person!

And shut up yes I know I shouldn't be excited to see the Browns grab their ankles but I don't care!

Day 2 of the Curtis Lofton for Detroit campaign is in full swing!

There is very little reason to have hope or optimism that Detroit will sign him, but the fans (me) have not given up hope. Those restructured contracts made some room! Lets get it done Detroit

I understand, but to make a decision on weather sounds like something Brees would do. Hell even Cutler manned up and went to Chicago, Rodgers plays in the cold. Like I said its a weak excuse, and Denver is a fairly temperate place, more so than say Detroit or Chicago.

You can't credit Ben with winning that 1st Super Bowl. That was the refs and the Stealers D.

Roofies was 9/21 with no TDs and averaged under 6 ypa in that game. They won in spite of him not because of him.

First 6 seed to get there and that was mostly Ben who at the time was carrying the team and putting up awesome numbers.

Hell he outplayed Peyton in Indy and even made a game saving tackle after the Bus almost had the biggest choke of all time.

Ben was great that year and he knew be didn't have to show up against jakncoke's team so I don't blame him for starting the celebration a little early.

Hype train is in full swing for the next four hours, until it derails tragically.

Jpep is on the recruiting trail! Heard on a Chicago Sports radio station this morning Lovie Smith and Julius Peppers were in Houston this morning meeting up with Mario Williams and Vincent Jackson!

My body can't handle all the highs and lows this team puts me through. I'm going to die of heart failure before I hit 40 because of all the unjustified hope and hype I have from this team, usually to be sent crashing down haha....... :-(

League requires the Cowboys and Redskins to eat half of that cap hit in 2012.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ns-to-take-half-their-cap-reductions-in-2012/

When reports of the uncapped year cap slap of the Cowboys and Redskins emerged on Monday, it was explained that the teams could decide on their own how to divide the cap consequences in 2012 and 2013. That prompted some speculation that the teams would spend now, and fight later.

A league source tells PFT that the teams will be required to absorb at least half of the cap consequences in 2012. For the Cowboys, it means $5 million in lost cap room. For the Redskins, $18 million disappears.
Jerrah and Danny Boy getting bent over. No reach around in sight.

Don't get too excited. The Bucs are expected to make a big push for him. They have plenty of cap space to do it, too.

Can they sign both guys? Would be one of the greatest offseasons if they could snag both guys.

The Bucs can push as hard as they want, but as long as they support Freeman as a QB, they will never win. And I imagine Lofton knows that! But if they convert Freeman to a guard..... then I'll be worried

He is an awesome run stuffer but doesnt provide much pass rush. He said he wants to stay in Seattle, is probably just testing what his market value is before he resigns here unless someone offers him a big contract.

Seems like he would do really well as a 3-4 end.

are other dallas fans pissed about this? I can't see any reason to be. All of my redskins fans are vomiting rage.

I suspect he'll be lining up at the nearest Taco Bell once he sees all those big flashy numbers on his contract that Bucs can offer with over 40 million in cap space.;)

So Arizona needs to free up something like 30 million to even make Manning a possibility? Ouch.
Keep in mind that these numbers don't include everything that went on yesterday such as Levi Brown being released, etc.

Yes they can. Rumors are Peppers will restructure his contract if the Bears land Williams. The problem is getting both guys will be expensive, so Emery is going to have to be able to draft well to get more player replacements!

Bears won't break the bank to get Jackson. They are going to over pay him, but not go to the extreme the Redskins are rumored to do! We'll see if he wants a real chance at winning while still getting a ton of money or take the highest offer!

At the rate things are going, the Redskins won't be overpaying anyone if the league has its way.

Yeah, I'd imagine FA would pretty much be over if the Bears land both guys. Still some holes at OL and WR. Not to mention the aging corners and LBs...

But it's obvious the Bears are in win now mode for the next 2 years, so their moves make sense. Should be an interesting draft.

Looks like Bucs management already gave Schiano the bad news on how the Bucs approach free agency.

http://www.tampabay.com/sports/foot...an-chase-free-agents-starting-tuesday/1219730

"I'm going to make sure where we spend our money, we do it prudently," Schiano said. "Because as we draft these great players and they become Bucs and they learn our culture and they learn how we do things, I want to be able to keep them. I truly believe that's the way you build a great organization. Teams rise and then fall very quickly, but an organization has consistency."

I want more lions contract or speculation action! No news makes me feel like we'll lose all of our free agents except for Eric Wright and that we will guarantee him 8 million per year.

It just seems to me that it will be hard for them to bid for Peyton Manning when they have to start out in a salary cap hole. I wonder where they are at now?
