Good thing is from their wording it seems like other outlets will count. I'm more disappointed next weeks beta is another press beta and not the closed sign up one.

They didn't really say it out right. I just meant their wording on twitter where they said Amazon doesn't count they leave it open to there maybe being other outlets. They say Amazon doesn't count because you don't pay in full, so it seems like other outlest may eventually count if you have to pay in full.
My guess is they get more of a profit if you buy directly from them. So they would want to encourage that sense they have no subscription fee. I could be completely wrong though.
I'm downloading Tera to check out, and I can't help but wonder why. It's not GW2.
I'm doing the same. I was thinking I would use it as a back up if the beta wasn't next weekend or I didn't get in. Sad it ended up turning out this way.
I meant about the beta next week.

Yeah, I think it's leaning that way. They definitely look done now from those few pics that were found yesterday.

i dont think its press only...sure press is getting in again but also whoever is randomly picked from the 48 hour beta signups will get in as well. i dont see why they would just all of a sudden change that and without saying anything to anyone. unless next weekend is another press only event then the last weekend of march is the closed beta event for those who signed up and get picked. either way nothing official has been mentioned on it so i guess we'll just wait and see
Diablo 3 is much better value for money, however Anet are more worthy of your money.
If public invites went out, they would have said so already.

I had someone ask them if they're bringing over the material storage system from GW1 and their response was "We're not taking it in a negative direction" so that either means they're tweaking that system or giving us a way to store a shit ton of crafting mats in some way.
Excellent video. I really enjoy how easy crafting is and how you can generate random items just by combining components. Also, keeping your skill level is extremely useful but it seems like you could just master everything and never need to trade for components/items.
They've said changing professions will cost more the higher level you are in the profession to help deter people from being entirely self sufficient and relying on trade amongst the community. I mean some people will do it regardless, but they're trying to discourage it somewhat.

Every time I see crafting I love it more. The speed up feature when you are creating a lot of one thing is amazing, so happy about that one. I wish someone would do a different profession than weapon smith and armorsmith though, I feel like that is all I have seen.
That IS all we've seen cause we've only seen a grand total of 3 crafting videos.
Ya, i meant CE wise. Although you can't go wrong with either for value for money.

Yeah, hopefully with this next press beta we get some more of what we haven't seen as a whole, not just with crafting. With GWInsider in it seems like more fan sites will make it in this time, so maybe they are better with what they look in to. Plus GWI is taking requests of what people want to know.

value wise id say d3 has better CE. the limited use consumables for GW2 make me really sad.

It is like all the rage built up from hours upon hours of having to stare at a goddamn bar filling up in all other MMOs released in an instant in a giant "FUUUUUUUU" and you create everything in a blink.
D3's pvp doesn't interest me one bit so that may not even matter to him.
I'm excited for Diablo 3, but I'm excited for GW2 as well in very different ways. Diablo 3 is great, but I want that mmo feeling, a giant world to explore, actual colours and daytime stuff. lol And while Diablo is obviously co-op driven, having a guild and all that stuff in GW2 and dynamic events will just make things feel so alive.

Were you in the last beta? Are you a press guy? Major outlets have gotten invites, that we know already. But I'm not sure about anyone else...
I feel like there would be a major public announcement when the invites went out, or at least something on twitter.

If the invites were sent out, I'm pretty disappointed about not receiving anything.
Although: This could be like PSO2 where invites are sent out in waves instead of all at once, although there's no real evidence to prove that the invites were sent out in the first place.

I think they went out to press currently. User invites have definitely not gone out yet.
(Else multiple people on /vg/ would be be talking about getting an invite, and no one but the trolls have said they got an invite so far)

Awesome to hear that invites have gone out. With over a million applied, I set my expectations of getting in accordingly. I think I made my selection chance even worse by picking World vs. World (or was it PvP?) as how I will mostly play the game. Oh well. Looking forward to all of the media that comes out of it, and hoping at least 5-10 people that know what the hell they are doing, will put out some good footage.

I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. I have really seen no where talking about them going out other than GWI and they said it looked like it was press only. They also took down the article pretty quickly.
GW2 twitter account isn't saying invites aren't sent out though, which they had been doing. All they are saying is "@chrisog94 If your friends claim to be in the beta, they are in breach of NDA. They are probably pulling your leg. ^RB" Which I guess leaves a possibility.

The odd thing is GWI editting their article and taking it down. If there are media invites going out why are they not able to say they are in and when the beta is? We knew about the last beta in advanced.
Also odd that they would do two weekend betas presumably in a row, there would really be nothing they could change in those few days. Only reason I could see to do that is maybe see if Asura and Sylvari are ready and if they aren't just taking them back out for the invite beta.
